Ive been renting a storage unit from this business since Aug 2022. We selected this place because we thought its a safe and reliable business where we could store our personal items w/out worrying about them getting stolen. However, that mentality changed when a week ago my mom and sister needed to enter to our unit and the access code didnt work. We tried so many times until we gave up. I called the office the very next day to inquired why my code was changed and why I wasnt notify about it, and the answer I got was: thats very strange, it might some kind of glitch because we got a new system. I asked if I could get my new code over the phone or emailed, but the office person said I need to go in person and prove that it was me for them to provide the new access code. I went as soon as I had a day off, and I got my old code restored, and the office assistant repeated: its weird that happened to you, it has never happened before. I truly believed her and I left the office. The next day I went to our unit to get some of our stuff, and since we got to our unit we knew something was off. To begin with, the lock on the door wasnt even our new lock, so obviously our key didnt work. I went to the office to express my concern and after waiting for 20 min the office person came to our unit and told me I needed to pay if I wanted the new lock to be broken and be able to check if our stuff was still intact inside. I told her to proceed because at this point I knew something had happened, and I just needed a confirmation. When she opened the door I confirmed that more than half of my familys stuff was stolen and the person from the store office didnt even look surprised. I called the police and filed a police report. But I thought it was more than necessary to expose my situation to other people to know and analyze the situation. There are so many indicators that the employees were involved in the robbery, since theyre the only ones able to change codes.
