Pattern of Complaints
BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints concerning customers receiving harassing calls from the business regarding the collection of an old debt. Customers allege that not only are they receiving calls from the business but that the business is also harassing their family, friends and even their work place. Most customers have also indicated they have not received any information in writing regarding the owed debt. Others have also indicated that during calls, the business threatens them with a law suit or with wage garnishment.
On March 5, 2019, BBB submitted a written request to the company encouraging them to address the pattern of complaints. The company provided BBB the following response on March 13, 2019:
"In Response to your
inquiry:
Our company does not
make outgoing collection calls to consumers. Past due accounts are sent out
notifications and validation letters through the mail. If no response has been
received from the consumer, we hire third party companies to call the consumers
and verify and update their location information on file. The initial attempts
from the location companies are to the consumer, but if that has failed, then
attempts are made to contact relatives or family members that have been listed
on the accounts.
All calls at the office
are monitored for quality assurance and at no point are any representatives
threatening any type of law suit or garnishment regarding the consumers
accounts."
