      Yes, I got a loan on with these guys and now Im trying to better my life by trying to pay it off and get past all that and I asked for a 10 day payoff letter and all Im getting is the runaround dont nobody want to give me that, so I can better my life they sending me to nine different people when I call and also hanging the phone up on me and all so they give me a Reference # REQ1371617 for the letter and they say to get them three days and Ive been past three business days still havent got it just getting hung up on

      Oportun authorized a loan of $6,412 in my name without my knowledge. The application was approved without properly determining the applicant's identity. I only found out when the bank notified me and the account is now 2 months past due. Oportun has not properly replied to my requests, using the customer complaint email address, for the removal and correction of my credit rating. Leaving me to notify local law enforcement and seek legal counsel. Reading other posts there is a trend of negligence or even illegal behavior at Oportun.

      I am rejecting this response because: Oportun approved a loan to an individual who used my identity to "Steal" a loan from Oportun. Oportun provided a copy of a Contract and Final Response in PDF through the BBB. As this not my loan I have refused to accept responsibility for the criminal actions of another person. Oportun has copies of this individual's identification and can easily figure out they have made an error but insist on attacking me. I have filed police reports with *************** Law enforcement and my local law enforcement (not in south *******). I also filed complaints with the BBB, CFPB, and FTC against Oportun.

      As a reminder the BBB message system only allows for the reply as a  "Accept" or "Reject" response.  

      The mailed package has not arrived and will be reviewed if it does. My concern is that oportun may have failed to send the package to the correct mailing address so I asked for it to be sent by email. 

      We received the electronic version of the package yesterday October 20, 2022, thank you. We will consult with legal counsel on the next course of action.


      Please verify the address the completed package is to be sent. so it can be sent Certified. 


      At your request, I am also providing feedback regarding customer service. 

      Oportun's email and phone communication system is flawed and unreliable.

      When a person reaches out to your company, by phone or email, the person representing Oportun should be competent and at least knowledgeable enough to guide the caller to the next step. On Oct 17, 2022 , Neither representative I talked on the phone gave me any indication they had any intention of aiding my request to contact (you or someone in your office)  about my needs. Both offered to "Create a Ticket" which in my experience is a method of farming off an issue to another person. I was promised that someone will call me back and told to stay by the phone.

      Today is Oct 21, 2022 and I have yet to see a phone call from any Representative of Oportun. 

      All of my email correspondences from oportun had identical replies and lacked any personal touch. There is not a single individual's name included as a contact point from Oportun.I understand the amount the amount of correspondence that your organization handles but copy/pasting "Our ****************************** is still looking into it and will follow up as soon as possible." is a shortcut that can be overlooked if it is actually acted on.

      Your local office at 10771 **********, ************, ** 32246,  provided the same address that you just indicated. We met with our financial advisor at our ************ to verify the packets contents and had it notarizedFor your information the hard copy of your packet, that you sent arrived after business hours on Oct 21, 2022 instead of being emailed on Oct *****, 2022. 

      We visited your ************ Branch due to the time lag using ************************************* or less than stellar knowledge by phone **************. We are pleased to say the ************ manager was very professional and helpful even though she could not resolve the issue locally. 

      The ** theft packet's notarized signature page and forms were sent via Certified and Return Receipt Mail as required on the first page of the ** Theft packet you provided. The post office stated the packet will arrive on October 31, 2022.  Let me know ASAP if you did not receive it by end of business day Nov 1, 2022.  From Nov 1, 2022 to Nov 5, 2022 we are out of town to attend a funeral but I'll monitor my email and reply as soon as I can.

      Signed up for opportun card 2 years ago. Paid the annual fee of $75, never used the card once. Have been trying to close the account for 4 months now and every time I call they say theyre going to close it and send me a confirmation letter. Never closed my account. never received a letter. Now its effecting my my credit negatively. *** worked with many credit card companies in the past and never had these issues. Opportun is not a good company and you should seek credit help elsewhere.

      On October, 1, 2021 Oportun Financial opened a Fraudulent account in my name. I don't know the individual and Oportun Financial has been very difficult to deal with regarding this matter. They have refused to be availalbe to take this off of my credit report. I have spoken to several representatives and even requested to speak with a supervisor to no avail. I have attempted to get this issue resolved for the last 6 months or so. The loan has been since charged off and attempting to get it off my credit report. I spoke with a representative at Experian for assistance (information provided upon request) and he had the same difficulties I did. This is severely affecting my credit score and preventing me from buying a house.

      The nature of my dispute is that this financial institution does not provide me with account balance, such as how much of my payment is being applied to the principle of the loan. The app states my payment due is one amount and once I pay above that amount the app tells me I still owe more. Not only that referred my daughter to this company using the referral link provided and after 3 months I still have yet to receive my $25 referral bonus.

      I entered into an agreement for lower payments in July. I was to make my initial payment for the agreement on 7/17 I went online to pay on 7/15 it would only allow me to pay the full payment. Oportun did not apply my agreement correctly causing my loan to look like Im behind a payment when Im not. I am being harassed throughout the day everyday while Im at work, followed by emails and text messages. I ended up going into an oportun store for them to review my account. They pulled my payment history and statements that was showing each time a payment was made I owed another payment 2 days later when my payments were set up biweekly falling on my pay period. The store put notes on my account asking to have the July payment applied correctly. Still have not been done 3 weeks later and Im still being harassed saying my payment is past due. I constantly tell them to read the notes that my payments needs to be corrected and I get nowhere. My blood pressure goes up every time I talk to them because they act like they dont understand. I show them screenshots of when I make a payment online it only shows the current due and thats what I pay. Then 2 days later I start getting calls emails and texts saying I owe more. Im ready to seek legal advice for harassment and they neglected to fix my account.

      Opened account and paid my annual fee twice. Once when opened in January and the second fee in July of 2022. I went to use the card and it was declined. Called customer support to find out they closed my account due to non use of card? Annual fees do not count as a use. Was told I would recieve refund however no one can provide me with any additional information about a refund being issued. There has been no documentation.

      On September 4th 2022, I requested to be enrolled in a payment reduction program, the oportun agent I spoke with on September 4th, 2022 enrolled me in the program with this payment plan: $42.00 each month until December 2022. The agent I spoke to on September 4th, 2022 also told me my first payment of $41.00 would be due by September 16th, 2022. I paid said payment of $41.00 on September 14th 2022. On September 22, 2022 I received a call from an oportun agent stating I had an outstanding balance of $41.00 that was 6 days past due. This confused me because I already made the agreed upon payment. The agent o spoke to on Sept 22, 2022 told me the payment I made on September 14th, 2022 was to activate my enrollment and that I needed to pay an additional $41.00. The agent i spoke with on September 22, 2022 also said that the $41.00 was to he paid twice a month instead of once a month. That is not what I was told. I was told to make a payment of $41.00 by September 16th, 2022. And I was told my payment of $41.00 was only expected once a month. The agent I spoke with on September 22 2022, refused to honor the plan I verbally agreed to in a recorded phone conversation. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the issue was still not resolved. I requested access to the recording of the phone call from September 4th, 2022 and was denied. That recording proves that I agreed to a payment plan that is different from what is being claimed by oportun as of September 22, 2022. I would like assistance in resolving this issue.

      In October I got a loan from them for ******* they sent me 2 check each ******* I put the money in my bank account then in January they took the money back I talked to the bank they said the checks that they sent me was cancel so it cost me overdraft on my account I have talked to a lot of people since then they said different things they see the mistake but still nothing so they said I had to keep paying the loan I talked to a lawyer he said stop paying the loan so now they have put it on my credit report so my other credit company are stopping my credit with them please help me I have all my paper work to prove everything I paid a little over ****** on the loan I would love to get that back if not I just want it to be took off of my credit report
