It began on 29 June 2022, I made a call after I got paid in order to pay off the remaining loan. It was an automated system and told me that the remaining amount was over $570.00 which I paid and it was processed on 1 July 2022. At the beginning of August I received a notification that I had to pay a minimum payment of $97. So I called to find out why, since I thought I had paid it off. They told me that the payment had been returned due to insufficient funds. I went to my bank because my statement said that it had gone through and wasn't returned. The representative showed me that it had gone through and not been returned. I called Oportun again, while at the bank. After about 2 hours of debating it and their incessant repetition of a minimum amount due and that my account was in good standing, they finally asked me to send my bank statements reflecting the payment to ********************************* to which I sent it. I called later and someone else answered and I had to go through the whole thing again because they said that they hadn't received it and then told me that that was not the correct email. They told me to send it to **************************************** to which I sent it again. Later I received a call saying that my minimum payment was past due and I called again. After about another hour or so, they they told me that they hadn't received it and they were going to transfer me to their supervisor. Then they told me that their supervisor told them that they were the one I was supposed to talk to. I was told that I would not have to worry about the late fees because they were looking into it and it would be another 2-3 days. After that time, they called again to say that my minimum payment was due. I explained again what the situation was and then I was told that a payment for over $590 was processed at the end of July but was returned on 3 August 2022. ACCOUNT NAME: OPORTUNPROG ACCOUNT NUMBER: *******BALANCE: $0.00 - HELO, HELP ME. I am super disappointed. I started to reach out to the 3 credit bureaus on MARCH 18, 2022 as I noticed that my account with you is reporting inaccurately. Right from the DATE OF LAST ACTIVITY, DATE OF LAST PAYMENT, PAYMENT STATUS, DATE LAST REPORTED. These section are reporting 3 different information across the 3 bureaus. I do not understand why? and how the h*** this happened??? I have already paid off this account on 3 years ago, June 2018. How come the inaccuracies and the whole account still on my credit report? Up until now *********** are ignoring my requests to remove this inaccurate information on this account, I do not understand whyyy? Did they ever contacted you and investigate my account? How di it go? Why these three bureaus (EQUIFAX, EXPERIAN, TRANSUNION) are reporting 3 DIFFERENT INFO'S???? On 9/6/2022 my first payment was due so I called and made the payment through the phone and used my debit card and as soon as I got off the phone it was taken out of my account. Since 9/9/2022 I have been getting harassing calls from the company saying I didnt make the payment I explained to the customer service person that I already made the payment and it came out of my account. 9/19/2022 I received another call saying they still hadnt received my payment I had called my bank and put the representative on a 3way call so that he can a plain that the payment went through and that they need to figure this out cause my bank already released it to opurton. It has been a horrible process and at this point I believe they have been scamming people and this is fraud now.Business Response

I borrowed a 14k secured loan on a 2019 Cadillac Escalade. Never missed a payment and paid in full yesterday after just a year? Why? Because I was told I could acquire another more prominent loan from day 1 If pulled every bit of cash out I had left, paid off the balance Used most of the same vital stats. And slam! My heart dropped when I was told out of the blue I didnt qualify. And was left $12 to our names and two kids or teenagers, a wife and a dog, No food or gas money and now we are screwed royally. And right upon the holidays. Spoke and was transferred 8 times in one call. And nobody can tell me when Ill get my Pink slip back. Opportun- istic you threw an entire family to the curb who did everything you asked and wasnt late once and were havent got a dime. It was a secured loan for gods sake! Opportun carrys not a shred of care, compassion or worry for us. And has lost the $80.000 pink slip to the car. How could you possibly sleep at night, at least your indoors. Sad day in that the BBB will back any c*** these days. Youve ruined this family, Hope your proud of your pathetic company out to get its employees rich on the backs of honest people, youve both let down. On Aug 10th I paid ******** towards my ***** balance. I am currently in the process of purchasing A home and needed the balance to be lowered. After making the payment I was informed the company reports the last day of every month and the balance would report Aug 31. On Aug 30th my balance was updated with the credit reporting agencies and it actually not only reported incorrectly but it INCREASED!! The compamy reported I now owed ***** when I actually only owe ******. I called the customer service and was told she submitted A ticket to have it corrected and I would hear back within 48 hours. She also mailed me A pay off letter. It had been A week and still no resolve. **************** doesn't know how to help me and this error is holding up my home buying process. I need A manual update to be done with all 3 credit reporting agencies showing this balance was drastically paid down. I also was told after I paid off 60% if have the option to refinance but so far I haven't seen that option available. I have attached both A screenshot showing the update that was incorrectly reported to the credit companies and also the balance on the opportune website.Business Response

For my card, I have already reported it stolen -- however I spoke to 8 reps and none of them understand what I also need. I need to file a dispute for fraud on the account. Every transaction starting 8/10/22 from Southwest and another on Eventbrite it looks like for $288, and every transaction from there on up are NOT mine. I never used this card and it was compromised. The entire $700+ balance is not my doing. Please file the dispute for all these transactions.Business Response

Hello on August 11 I received a call from a representative of Oportun who offered me a deferment if I made my payment. Payment was made and I was told deferment would be placed on the account within 24hrs. Deferment was not placed in the account and credit was affected because of that. I called to resolve the issue and was told by another representative that it would be taken care of. Today is August 24th and deferment has not been placed on account. On call with ********************* ID# ******* went over what the situation was with him and asked for a manager he refused, I continued to asked he laughed and said manager ******************************* stated she will not be coming to line due to it has been escalated. I asked repeatedly to speak with a manager and rep refused. I then asked to get the ticket number for the escalation and was told he could not locate, even though ticket was opened day before. Asked rep to stop placing me on hold, he would place me on hold come back to line and state he is looking for information. Was placed on hold 7 times and rep still refused to get manager to line or someone who could handle situation. Need ticket number of escalated ticket. Aug. 24th deferment still not placed on account and no one is able to confirm when it will be nor why it was not taken care of.Business Response

I previously reported this loan company for sending me a loan check that bounced. Caused my bank account to be in negative and I accrued a lot of overdraft fees due to this. Now since I reported this company, someone name ***** called me to resolve my issues. He was supposed to send me a check covering my overdraft fees that I never received. I called him at the number he said I could reach him but no answered. I called several times. So my issues wasn't resolved.Business Response

Opportun suddenly closed my account based only on the fact that I had not used it in 90 days. So by being responsible with my credit cards, my account was closed which will negatively affect my overall credit.Business Response

Account is closed I dispute this account to the credit bureaus and it was denied within days and with a high balance and the account is still open and I no longer want to have this credit card anymore because of the low credit limit they offer me and they dont do credit limit increases..
