I am deeply disappointed with SDCCU's services when it comes to accessing transaction information. As a long-time customer, I have always expected a certain level of professionalism and efficiency. Unfortunately, this recent experience has left me frustrated and questioning the bank's commitment to customer satisfaction. One of the major issues I encountered was the bank's failure to provide adequate transaction history with their official letterhead directly from their online system. In the midst of purchasing a home, I needed to access my daily transaction details on SDCCU's letterhead, I was left astounded by knowing my only option to get this information was by visiting the branch and paying $5. This lack of accessibility to official records made the authenticity of the documents they do provide in their system questionable to my house lending institution and caused me great stress in gathering the documentation I needed. As a reputable financial institution, it is expected that their information assure customers of their reliability and trustworthiness. However, the absence of their letterhead suggests a lack of professionalism and casts doubt on the authenticity of the documents.Another aspect where the bank failed to meet expectations was in providing images of check deposits. As a customer, I rely on these images to verify transactions and maintain accurate records for tax and personal accounting purposes. However, these documents are also not available online and can only be provided directly from the institution for a $3 fee. The overall lack of customer support is disappointing and has significantly impacted my trust in their services. I urge SDCCU to rectify these shortcomings immediately, by:Ensuring that all transaction history documents bear the bank's official letterhead for authenticity; and Promptly providing images of all checks at no cost.

I joined this credit union after moving to SD and I have had a personal and business account with them for the last 4+ years. I am a small business owner who depends on a car to get to my job(s). My **** vehicle recently broke down and is too far gone to sink any money into. I applied for a car loan at SDCCU and received an email 'Congratulating' me on my approval. I began the process of searching for a car, I had a few lined up to take a look at. I sent all the information requested with no feedback. Six days after the application had been approved I received yet another email, this time from a loan officer, 'congratulating' me on my loan approval. Six minutes later I got an email stating that 'unfortunately I would not qualify' for a 10k car loan. I called to find out what was going on and I got a lot of nonsense about my income because I am a small business owner. There was no help or alternative offered. No help or consideration for a loyal customer. I also canceled and reordered my debit cards five weeks ago and STILL have not received them. I'm out of there.

By far one of the worst banks in Southern **********; online banking is constantly offline, the branches are deserted with one person helping 10 people in line, random issues with their debit cards declining but then working just fine the next day. They are so incompetent that they warn you all the time about protecting yourself from social media scams, yet they allow their ******** page to be filled with scammers posting comments because apparently no one manages that asset in the bank.Do yourself a favor and stay far away from them.

SDCCU's overdraft policy is predatory. Yesterday, we had a timing issue where we were unable to get a check deposited until a few hours after the account went negative. Consequently, we were charged $128 in fees. $96 of those dollars were for three charges that added up to $16.03 total. That's a huge markup! I called and spoke to two reps today and neither would budge on reversing the $96!! This leads me to believe that SDCCU has included this predatory practice in their financial model. SDCCU needs to seriously reconsider their practices, especially while more people are living paycheck to paycheck and with so much less because of the economy. I am currently making plans to switch to another financial institution ASAP.

This bank has the worst fraud department. You never get a warning. The managers at the banks are rude and they will never help you when you need it. My bank account was hacked and they never gave me the funds back. They know someone got into my account but will do nothing about it.

SDCCU charged me a $1 maintenance fee monthly and then charged $32 overdraft fee for an account I didn't use as much. They double dipped on this multiple times and in 3 month's I owed $160 to the credit union for just having the account active. Like I said, I don't use this much so wasn't aware of the overdraft taking place. After that, they sent me a letter stating my account was in default and that they were going to notify Transunion and Equifax. I asked for a reversal of those fees and they wouldn't reverse the "CourtesyACH". I closed my account and moved on but disappointed that there's credit unions that are out to get you.

This bank is despicable. And also breaks the law. I told them multiple times I declined overdraft protection. If any charges were made to my account I wanted them declined. So I would not be charged overdraft fees. I had multiple conversations with them stating that from the time I opened my account, I wanted overdraft turned off. Did they do it? No. Now they are trying to charge me over $700 because they charged me a $35 overdraft fee, on multiple charges, most of which were $0.99-$2.99. It is ridiculous. And when I tried to ask them to remove the overdrafts as I have banked with them for 15 years, they said no. I changed banks. Iw I'll kto pay that much in overdraft fees. For starters it is illegal to charge overdraft fees to someone who opted out of overdraft protection. And I do plan on suing them for it.

They just charged me $128 in overdraft fees when there was money in my account. The explanation they gave me essentially says they held pending charges that had not cleared my account and werent showing up on the app and thats why there are discrepancies between what I am seeing on my account and what they have in their system. When I asked them to send me a screenshot of what is in their system they said they couldnt do that. I have screenshots of being charged despite a positive balance. They refuse to reverse the 4x $32 overdraft charges that never should have been incurred and said all they can do is remove the overdraft service because its a courtesy to me.Its is not a courtesy to be told I dont have a balance, when pending charges have not yet cleared and a balance is clearly displayed in my account. They basically told me that my poor accounting skills are to be blamed (because, yeah - I didnt account for 4 surprise overdraft charges - silly me).Steer clear.

This is a terrible credit union. I had $401 in my savings account and initiated a transfer to my BOA checking account for $400 knowing there would be a $3.00 charge that I assumed would come out of the $400. Not the case! That is a separate fee. So SDCCU charged me a $32 fee and then they tried to run the transfer again for $400 with only $368 in my account, obviously that is not enough money, and charged me another $32 penalty fee!! I went into this bank to get a better understanding, informed the teller of the situation, and she immediately told me there was nothing she could do. Which I get it, she doesnt have the authority, fine. I asked to speak to a manager, the teller went to grab her then came back and let me know the manager wants to call me next day. I understand there may be more pressing items on her agenda but I thought that was a very dismissive way of handling a customer. I then asked to pull out all of my money and close the account. Which the teller did without question and I asked if I can still get a call back. She then informed me that now that I have closed my account, I wouldnt be able to get my key back!!! What kind of place is this!!! Ive never been treated this way and definitely do not deserve this. I will be sure to spread the word to everyone I know, NEVER open an account with SDCCU!! They do not care about their customers!! I am now out $64 because I didnt have an extra $3 in my savings account for a TRANSFER. You would think if there was not enough money in an account for a simple transfer, they would simply deny rather than charge their customers a ridiculous fee. Clearly this bank does not care about their people. Shame on you SDCCU. You have a terrible business practice.

Been with this Bank for 4 years.Never experienced anything like this at other places. They dont make charges in order of dates of purchases causing unnecessary and unwanted overdrafts.Have experienced this type of situation over the last few monthsMade a couple purchases at a local ********* recently; checking my account before to make sure I had enough to cover. Had more than enough to cover purchases. Noticed that purchases was left pending for a couple Days (9/13-9/14).Then a automatic withdrawal that I forgot about was posted. This of course was over my limit causing a overdraft(9/15). To my surprise this was immediately taken, leaving my ********* purchases still pending. Now instead of 1 overdraft fee, I have 3.Why wasnt my purchases I had made on 9/13-9/14 taken before the 9/15 purchase. Shouldnt it be taken in order of PURCHASES! I feel unsatisfied with this situation. Going to close this account, very unsatisfied and feel robbed of money I work hard for, especially during this pandemic time.I was warned by family and friends but gave them the benefit of the doubt.I was WRONG in choosing this company to handle my Banking. ??
