      Midland Credit Management claims my husband has a balance with them due to a credit card debt. The card in question however was PAID IN FULL before WE decided to close the account. My husband and I have called the major credit bureaus (experion, equifax and transunion) they have reported to us that they do NOT see this debt listed on my husbands report. Since then we have locked his social with these companies. Do NOT pay them a cent until you know FOR CERTAIN that you do have a debt with them.

      The chat service today was pretty **************. My problem is that it should not have been necessary. My account number was changed I did not receive notification, so I have no idea when it was changed. I have this payment being auto-drafted. When I went to the account to change the mailing address, I could not get in. The system used by the website had no record of my account. I would have assumed if there is no record of my account then the payments should have stopped. Or, I should have received some notification. If a notification had been sent to an old address, I would assume the company would use a postal service that would notify them of an address change. Even my alumni association will do this so they can find people. Very frustrating, BUT the person via chat did assist relatively quickly... just don't think it should have been necessary.

      Very understanding - fast response and acceptable payment plan. By far, the easiest and quickest negotiation I've ever had with a collection agency. I was even able to set everything up via chat instead of having to talk on the phone.
