Business Name: Citation & Violation Management (on behalf of ******** A Car LAX)Complaint Type: Billing/Collection Issue I rented a vehicle from ACE Rent A Car at LAX on March 29, 2025. Weeks later (on 04/23/2025), I received an email from Citation & Violation Management (CVM) stating that I incurred a toll which need to be paid. So I checked the web with ticket ID ********* they sent to me, and the Total Due shows $120 I need to pay. However, I called The Toll Roads official customer service and paid directly by phone (confirmation number is ***********), which is just about $8. And when I called back CVM and told them I paid the toll fee, then they changed the Total due to $50 (they said this is administration fee). How ridiculous! It means if they pay the toll for you, they will charge $70 for the toll, plus $50 for the administration fee ($120 in total). Despite I resolve the toll promptly and without any actual citation or penalty, *** still insisted on charging me a $50 administrative fee. I contacted *** with proof of payment and asked for the fee to be waived, as I had already resolved the issue before any legal violation or collection process occurred.Additional information: they said the toll must be paid either prior to the vehicles return or within 5 days of incurring the toll, otherwise, they will charge the administration fee. However, the toll incurred on 03/30/25, and I returned the car on 04/04/2025, there was no one telling me the toll incurred within 5 days of incurring the toll, until I received the notice from CVM after 3 weeks. The *** must know the toll road official won't contact the people directly who rent the car but contact car renting company. So CVM don't contact customer either within 5 days, so they can charge admiration fee.I request a cancellation of the $50 administrative fee, and their billing practices be reviewed. I also ask that this complaint be added to the BBB file to help inform other consumers of this issue.Initial Complaint

I am writing to file a formal complaint against CMV (Contact Details: Phone - **************, Emails - *********************** ******************** Address - P.O. BOX *****, *********, ** *****), due to their fraudulent practices, misrepresentation of charges, and potential complicity in unauthorized information sharing with rental car companies.During my recent interaction with CMV, facilitated through a car rental service at ***, I was charged for toll violations, which I firmly believe were unjustified. CMV, represented by ******* and *******, claimed that I exceeded toll charges of over $125.00. Upon settling these charges, CMV further alleged a second toll road violation, which I am certain I did not commit, especially transitioning from 105 *** to 110 N (Fast Track), where I exited the *** lane before any charges could be applied.The insistence on the second violation by the representative, *******, led me to investigate further, uncovering what I believe to be fraudulent activities. CMV's claim that the second violation was sent to collections and the directive to contact the court instead of the collections agency raises significant concerns about their operational integrity and consistency.I want to know who shared my personal information with this company because ACE Rental cars (***) is deniying they shared personal data with CVM.Initial Complaint

CITATION AND VIOLATION MANAGEMENT texted ** saying we owe them $79 for a toll violation. Upon further investigation it appears Ace ****************** sold our data to this scam outfit. I will never rent from Ace ever again. They are in cahoots with this scam company.Initial Complaint

This business contacted me trying to collect on toll violation ID ********* and said I owed 125 dollars for not paying a toll in *********. I asked them for more information on what free way and toll it was as well as evidence of them trying to contact me before since it was obvious that this so called violation had an extra fee attached. They were unable to produce any information or proof that there was any violation in the first place or what the original charge even was. The email was incredibly misleading and intentionally made it seem like if I didnt pay the ******************************************************** some crazy un proportional response. I got a letter from **************, on which it says the toll was only 7 dollars and there was no mention of any fee that would make the bill 125 dollars like this company originally stated.Initial Complaint

this company has been pestering me through email and text - *****.COM I had called the car rental company and they said they are not aware of this company. I also called the CA toll road company and asked about them. They said they aren't aware of this company either and said the toll company would always send a bill through the mail in addition to a license plate number. Please ask your car rental company NOT to sell your information to third-party companies. They stole my information, including my contract, with my information on it. DO NOT PAY THESE SCAM ARTISTS! Received multiple letters and emails saying I owed $69 for a toll. Having received no other letters from the city, I finally decided just to pay it -- only to receive a letter from the REAL company that one should be paying tolls to in the San **** area, "bayareafastrak.org," for only $7.
