      American water is a terrible company who has cornered the market in our area. They shut my water off even though I was making payments, sent me refund checks for my payments, told me the water had been off since September and account closed (it was ******* when they turned it off). Then apologized for the mistake. Promised me they would turn my water on that day since we are an organization that services youth. That was Thursday! Today is Monday and my water is still not on. They asked me to be available from 7AM - 5PM to wait for someone to come out (even though they turned it off when no one was here from the outside). Every time I called and requested a supervisor the customer ********************** agents were very rude and refused to assist in any way and NEVER gave me a supervisor. They just kept me on hold and either never came back or hung up after a long hold. How this company has an A+ on the BBB website blows my mind and why they aren't held accountable for all the negative ratings they have on ****** and BBB is crazy. If you have a choice (which sadly most of us don't) DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Horrible

      california American Water (In My Humble Opinion) is a Fraudulent Company ripping off the Consumers who are forced to use their services (sewer in our case) as each month they continue to put unsupported additional & surcharges on our monthly bills with no basis or authorization from the **** I called to complaint about these bogus charges & got too bad *******, pay up. I asked under what Authority these additional Charges were being assessed & received no answer.

      I own a ***** square foot condo and the water **** that American Water charges me is $700 per month. I have no leaks, and my plumber friend looked at my faucets and toilets and found usual small drip from a toilet "there is no way this toilet is the cause of the high charges". I live in a 3,600sq ft house with a large yard, a swimming pool and 3 bathrooms... my monthly water **** averages $60/mo. Something is very off.The amount of time and stress this has caused is ridiculous. My **** is $4,800! I have paused payment until they figure out what my honest **** is. They have turned my water off. This is criminal!!!! It's a mistake on the water company or the **** not my tiny condo!!! I am looking into my legal options. They are sending a field agent out in 2 weeks... we will see what he/she finds. Stay tuned, you may read the entire story on my social channels after the field agent's visit.
