On February 19 2023 I accidentally sent my $597 to the wrong account and I called for 2 days to see if SoFi bank could lift the restrictions off my account so I could get my money back out to pay my bills and they keep giving me the run around the investigator on my account hasn't been in touch with me since I called 2 weeks ago and told them that $450 was stolen out my account and they immediately put a restriction on my account then 5 days ago they sent me an email telling me that the restrictions were lifted from my account which was a lie it's still locked up and I just want to pay my bills I'm not worried about the money that was stolen I just want my bill money out so I don't have to be in the dark without heat or food and they keep telling me they understand but they don't because if they did they would give me access to my moneyBusiness Response

The company has been sending unwanted commercial offers to my residence. My complaint is that the phone number listed to remove my personal information from their advertising database requests the customer's ********************** Security Number. This data is recorded on their automated answering machine, which is a violation usage of my PII. This is an unsafe practice, which could possibly be tied to many popular scams which involve identity theft related to Social Security and fraudulent tax filings.Business Response

I was given a money order as a form of payment so I deposited it into my account. **** days later the money order cleared then immediately removed. I never touched the money or used it. Now my account has been frozen for a week. I have called to speak with someone and I get told it's in internal affairs. Mind you my paycheck from my job got deposited which now I cannot withdrawal money to pay my rent and just received an eviction notice. I have been told multiple agents that I would have a call back by the end of Friday. Here it is now Tuesday and now I'm being told that they can't reach the person handling my investigation. I have 3 days to pay my rent or me and ********* will be homeless. IBusiness Response

This is the third time I'm writing this it's getting very boring. I'm complaining about the bank Sofi Bank. I joined them and December was my first direct deposit. I was promised $200 fee for starting a checking account with direct deposit. I was also promised $50 overdraft fee. The $200 was really $50 because my direct deposit was a measly $1,800. Even though I had to bug them about giving it to me after 2 months they did it on Christmas. My old Bank Direct Express had a few first of the year updating of their bank and included me on that list. My direct deposit was not done on January 1st as scheduled and went to my old Bank. I was $50 overdrawn (the allowed amount) and I made deposit of $500 from my bank Direct Express. I provided the receipt down below. However Sofi rejected it and sent it back. The reason it was overdrawn was because I got scammed by moonpay business. I filed a dispute was sofi Bank and a dispute with moonpay company. Sofi Bank told me it would *********** months to resolve it. ******* resolved it right away and sent my $50 back to sofi bank. At the time Moon pay made three attempts to put the money back in my account but was turned down by Sofi every time. I thought it was very odd that my bank would turn me down and moon pay would help me out doesn't seem right. Then I was notified today only because I happened to call the bank I was notified that my dispute of the amount was turned down. Now I think that's very weird that the company would try to send the money back and the bank would reject it don't you. However I chose to ignore it and take the $50 as a loss. I was trying to buy groceries today using my overdraft protection at the store and was embarrassingly rejected by my card. I called sofi Bank and received the runaround again. But I called them back and tried to pin them down because that's all you can do with Sofi. Finally on the second call abroad operator informed me that I no longer had overdraft protection because of being $50 overdrawn for longer than a month. If you recall in my above statement I tried to make deposits for times to cover that $50. I'm definitely doing my part of the bargain with direct deposit of $1,800 a month. I want them to keep their bargain by giving me overdraft protection.Business Response

Sofi soft offered a personal loan of $40,000. When I accepted terms to get a hard credit inquiry, I then had to document my stated income of $190,000/year. I provided all documentation to justify $220,000/year, but SoFi "calculator" figured it as ~$132,000, and reduced offer to $20,000. When I inquired about how they calculated such a low number even though two the paystubs alone are $158,000 per year on their own, not including the two other monthly and biweekly paystubs form my other two jobs, they refused to release how they calculated the number and provided no other way to "proved' stated income. They never intended to give this loan since I can prove more than the income I stated during application, yet they refuse to do the calculation correctly.I request they either (1) remove the hard inquiry from my credit report, or (2) offer the loans at the terms offered based on correct information that I provided , yet they miscalculated.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
They did nothing but attempt to re-engage the application process with MORE restrictions than original. They did not address the original complaint that they pre-qualified in poor faith and refuse to remove the hard inquiry form my record. They engage in deceptive trade practices and only attempt to do proper vetting process AFTER they get complaint to BBB, and even they they use BBB complaints to attempt to continue to sell products and services not wanted rather than address the actual complaint.
There actions on this matter are woefully inadequate and I reject their response, which they attempt to hide behind some faade of customer privacy to shield themselves for the reality that they a deceptive firm.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: the have not addressed the underlying issue. I will just continue to refuse to do business with them unless they become less deceptive in their practices. They are obviously unwilling to do even the simplest of corrections and I see no point in wasting anyone's further resource to deal with a bullheaded company as this.
Sincerely,

SoFi Banking advertised in December 2022 that if I joined ********************** I would receive $100 after I make my first payment of $65 to Ladder. I was shopping for life insurance at the time in *************** ** so I quickly signed up for life insurance with Ladder using the link provided through SoFi. The link advised me that I would receive $100 within 7 days. Unfortunately, I never received the money to date, which caused me to overdraft by $46.46 cents in anticipation of the reward of $100. I made several attempts to contact SoFi and resolve the issue, but I was informed that I no longer qualify for the reward because I moved to ******** in February, which surpassed the 7 day reward promise by over a month. I quickly open a new bank account elsewhere and have my Veterans Disability direct deposit there, and I also stopped paying the ********************* because I feel this was a Fraud. I am requesting that the $65 that I was fraudulently removed from my account be returned to SoFi to cover my overdraft and I can close both accounts and no longer will do business with either one of those Fraudulent Companies. Please Advise.Business Response

I was informed this past week from sofi bank that they were closing my account. I initiated an ach wire transfer over from my ************* account 3 days prior to this. It was over $1600 in my account and they posted the money for me to be able to use it the day after they told me they were closing my account . I can visually see the money in my account yet it will not let me transfer it or use my bank card. I was hung up on by their customer service rep after i repeatedly asked her the reason for them closing my account. I think they are trying to steal my money based on all of the other complaints i have been reading. I am currently 300 dollars behind on rent now and owe late fees. I can not wait any amount of time for MY money when it should have been returned to my bank . I am very furious about this whole situation and wonder how they are still in business after all of these complaints. Hopefully mine will impact a lot of people resolving their issues as well. This is not right to refuse access to peoples money that they WORKED for. Also, when i asked them when they were going to make the account closure final so i can receive the check for my money , they said they dont know. This should not be legal and i doubt that it is. When someone opens up an account with a financial institution , they expect they can trust that bank with their money thats the whole reason people even open accounts. When you refuse access to an account holders money , you CLOSE that account immediately because you do not know what that person has going on . People lose their families, homes, cars over money and what makes everything so worse is not even having any reason to do it.Business Response

I really thought this was a good company everything has been good so far until I deposited my 401 k check from my job. They froze my account and I cant access MY money. When I called they cant tell me anything even though the notification on my online banking says to call with more information. Im meet with rude reps in the fraud **** who hang up on me and tell me they dont have a supervisor for that ****. Im so confuse as to what is the purpose of a fraud team if they can give the status of My money . This is sick at this point Im higher dissatisfied.Business Response

I just opened an account deposited $500 and deposited a few checks online. About 3 weeks ago my account was frozen for fraud. There's a number that states to call however they haven't given me any information for the past 3 weeks. I asked to speak to a manager and "******" refused to put one on the phone. I was transferred to a voicemail and left one 3 times with no communication. I need answers asap, I can't pay my bills!Business Response

On January 13, 2023 I noticed a transaction for $148.72 from Chrewy.com on my SoFi Bank app. I dont own any animals, but my ex used to use them to order food for her dogs, several months earlier when she and I were still together and she was living with me. I immediately reached out to Chewy customer service to let them know that the charge wasnt authorized and that my ex was fraudulently using my debit card without my knowledge or consent.Chewy customer service acknowledged the debit card was mine, not hers, and that the charge wasnt made by me and that they knew the name on the card was not hers, but that because her account was in her name (since it was her dogs) they would continue to charge me whenever she ordered things. If I wanted to dispute it, Id need to reach out to my bank and file the charges that way. Chewy would continue to knowingly and willfully engage in fraudulently using my card as long as my ex wished to.So I reached out to SoFI bank to report the charge as fraudulent. Unfortunately theres no way to talk to a human about this at all. Theres a web page with a couple of check boxes, to file a dispute, but no way to actually reach a human and describe the situation. In the time it took SoFi to research the fraud claim, the package from Chewy arrived. (Apparently it was still sent to my mailing address.) I immediately marked the package as refused and returned it to Chewy. Weeks later SoFi responded and denied my claim, saying that my ex using my card without consent wasnt fraud and Id have to pay all the charges.Despite:My ex not living with me My ex not having my consent to use my card Me having informed Chewy that this was a fraudulent order Me having refused and returned the package to Chewy And so now Im stuck paying for something I never ordered, from a merchant who knew the order was fraudulent before shipping it, which was returned unopened to the merchant.I want my money back. I want my ex blocked from using my card.Business Response

Complaint: 19413667I am rejecting this response because:All you did was confirm all my facts that the charge was indeed fraudulent, done without my consent, and that yet you refuse to get involved. Um, thank you for agreeing that you are indeed so terrible that your own customer service folks call your response to my issue "dreadful". I guess.
