they should tell you what you will be charged to sell something at the time you are posting the ad. I found out afterwards. Had I know they would charge 15% I would not have posted anything on their site. When inquiring about the fees one needs to read a 20 minute article on their charges. and it isn't an easy read. they intentionally make things complicated and obscure to confuse people. I would like to file a class action suit against ebay, shameful thieves. lets take them to court

Buyer beware. After being ripped off twice I am in the process of permanently closing my account. eBays claims of buyer protection and complaint resolution are entirely a scam. In fact, buyers have zero protection. If you do not receive your items and seek remedy, eBay will judge for the seller 100% of the time. In my case, I did not receive items and in each case the **** had directed that the sellers file claims - the recipient cannot do this. The individuals in question flat out refused to file claims and when review was requested eBay sided with the sellers (!). A odd strategy as regards customer service, and one that does not meet my basic standards. Worse, perhaps, I was forced to interact repeatedly with individuals, the sellers, who were clearly unbalanced. No thanks. I know there are crazies and weirdos. I work to avoid them. The responses I received from eBay were truly bizarre, people (?) with scant commands of English and weird wordings - perhaps AI, certainly some kind of outsourced baloney. Do you want an algorithm deciding your case, or someone who does not speak English ? Perhaps they were aged 12 ? Who knows. Hey, help yourself. Increasingly, I had also found eBay merchandise to be utter junk. I would guess that the better sellers have also left for greener pastures. Which exist. eBay is predatory. They support sellers to increase cadre and therefore fees. They do not care what will happen when there are not enough buyers. AVOID.

My account was permanently banned because I posted too many graded trading cards, about 40, in one day. They said it was a security risk to the community.I'm like uh... You sell *** dolls, ******, and child **** to minors... And some how my PSA graded pokemon are the security threat?

I sold a ************************* hair dryer on eBay to a buyer, I shipped it, and the day it got there they said the wanted a refund? Said? It did not work? For those that dont know ************************* is a professional product!!! That dryer was $179.00 it was a motion touch dryer you just touch it and it automatically comes on and goes off. First of all I would never sell someone something that doesnt work. I took pictures of the dryer before I sent it. And it came back not working and burned up it was horrible!!! And eBay gave the buyer their money back I was like wow!!! I said you know what give them the refund! To that buyer KARMA is a you know what!!! So if you sell anything on eBay make a video of that product show that it is in good working conditions. I even had pictures to show proof!! But I will be deleting my account on eBay never again will I sell anything on there again!??????

      Hi ******,

We are sorry to hear that this has been your experience. Although we are unable to discuss account specifics through this channel, we would be happy to provide general information surround our policies and procedures.

Per eBays Money Back Guarantee, If the buyer receives the wrong item, or the item arrives broken, damaged, or faulty (and was not clearly described as such), they are entitled to return it for a refund, even if the seller doesnt offer returns. If the transaction is eligible for the eBay Money Back Guarantee, the buyer will be able return the item for a full refund.
For your convenience, I have included a link to this policy here: *****************************************

As eBay does not physically handle items being sold/returned we are unable to confirms the condition of an item at any point during the transaction, nor are we in a position where we can verify was what sent or received. As such, all returns will proceed based on the return reason that was selected.

That said, note that should sellers indicate that an item was returned in an altered condition, we are unable to provide compensation as we do not have physical contact with the items.

With that in mind, we have implemented a tool for the protection of our sellers. The Partial Refund Tool is one way eBay protects sellers in these types of situations as it allows sellers to deduct from the buyers refund if an item is returned in a different condition.

If sellers offer Free Returns and are not ************** or earn Top Rated Seller status, they are able to utilize the Partial Refund Tool for items returned used or damaged. With this tool, sellers can deduct up to half of the refund in amount between 5% and 50% depending on the loss in value. Keep in mind, however, that sellers should not be using this tool to withhold return shipping, original shipping, eBay fees, etc.
For additional information regarding eBays seller protections, please follow the link below:
      *****************************************************************************************

We realize that because of this experience you had made the decision to leave eBay. Of course, we're sorry to hear your decision is to delete your account as we value your membership in the eBay community. We will respect your decision, but if there is anything we can do to improve your experience or resolve a problem for you, please contact our Customer Support team here, ************************************************.

I was an advocate seller online without any issues. I won an estate sale that had a lot of vintage sports jerseys. As soon as I listed them a buyer purchase everyone of them at my buy now prices. It was at least 7 jerseys. I checked their profile and they never sold or previously purchased any items. I contacted Ebay and the agent told me I should cancel all of the orders because they looked suspicious. I did. After that incident, I was no longer able to log into my account. I called and was told I was permanently banned. I also had an incident with a customer that purchased a comic book that was rare. They received it, and took days to pay me! They tried to report a negative sale. I have bid on a lot of high end products and won at Estate Sales. A lot of customers was trying to scam and they shut down my account! I paid all of the fees as well and still can't get my seller account back. This is wrong and unfair!

I have been fighting with Ebay over an account restriction they gave **** just recently started selling again I have been jumping through every hoop they have given me over the past 10 days and will still not release my funds. I have spent over $2000 in shipping costs and they are even withholding those funds. This has been beyond frustrating and everything is a 3 to 5 day wait.

I sold an item for $1000 on February 7, 2023. eBay placed a hold on my money stating the read was to make sure there was no issue with the buyer. The buyer received the item on February 11, 2023, and gave me positive feedback. eBay continues to have my money on hold and said it will be until March 10, 2023. Now if the buyer is happy and left positive feedback what is the reason to continue to hold my money. I called customer service today, February 23, 2023, to find out why. I was placed on hold twice and then customer service hung up on me while I was on hold for the second time. This is ridiculous to have your money on hold for this long especially when the customer has given you positive feedback. There are many other places to sell online and I would advise everybody that is reading this review to look at other resources to sell your stuff.

Theyre absolutely horrendous and I have no idea why they have not had their pants sued off them. They suspended my account for no reason and they are holding $5000 of sales that I sold and the people accepted over my head indefinitely. Six months later they still have MY money. These people are crooks, and should be taken down.

Bought a $100 ebay gift card at cvs. They activated it at cvs. Someone else linked it to their ebay account and used it. Not sure how the scammers did it. I contacted ebay and they know it was redeemed but they dont have any more info other than that it was redeemed by someone else. eBay manager was very dismissive about my issue. eBay and cvs both are not helping me with getting my money back.

      Hello ******,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are sad to hear you were unable to use the funds that you purchased for your eBay gift card and contacting our support did not reach a desired outcome. We know someone else using the funds of a gift card without ownership consent is a negative experience and no one wants to be in that situation.

From what youve described, it sounds like you may be a victim of a scam and the funds you tried to place on the gift card were stolen from you. In the news there has been a rise in gift card scams. One such scam is where the scammer creates their own fake barcode stickers and places it over the barcode on gift cards they find in stores. Then, when their sticker is scanned by a cashier to place funds on the buyers gift card, the funds are actually sent to a card the scammer owns and the store card is worthless.

Im not sure if this scam situation applies to you or not, however, if you would like to read a report from a news channel about it and what they recommend doing to prevent becoming a victim please visit the following 9News article: **********************

As gift card scams have become more prevalent, please review these two eBay pages for more information about gift card scam prevention and our gift cards terms and conditions:

      ***********************************************************************

We appreciate you reaching out to our customer support in a timely manner. I wish the funds had not been utilized yet, because in that case we could have frozen the card and worked with you to verify ownership for a transferal of funds. However, because the card was used, we are unable to recover the funds and recommend reaching out to your local authorities about launching an investigation. We believe in supporting and upholding the law and are happy to work with law enforcement whenever they reach out for our cooperation.

Thank you again for sharing your experience regarding your instore gift card purchase and we hope with the help of local authorities you are able to recover your lost funds.

      Respectfully,
