They towed my car from where I live. I was looking at the back of my car on the phone with them as they are towing it and they quoted me $530 to get my car. The local police only charge $141 and legally the tow company can not charge more than that it's called over excessive charing

    Mrs, Parks
I understand your concern regarding the towing charges. Our rates are set in accordance with California Vehicle Code (CVC) *****, which governs private property towing. The fee structure you referenced applies to city-authorized tows, whereas our company operates as a private towing service and does not tow for the city.
The rates we charge are based on private property towing regulations and are not subject to the city's towing fee schedule.
    Best regards,

    ********* Towing

The transaction occurred September 12, 2024 The reason for the transaction was that on September 11, 2024 the business towed my vehicle from private property. The nature of the dispute is the business towed my vehicle without proper notification (see attached admission email from HoA) and in violation of California Vehicle Code (Section *****), which requires a 24-hour notice, and without providing (again required by law) written authorization from the HoA for towing my vehicle. The business engaged in unethical business practices and effectively stole my vehicle without my permission. I had to pay them $395 to recover my vehicle from their unauthorized and illegal possession.

    Business Response

    Date: 02/27/2025

    Mr. Dursha
Thank you for reaching out regarding the towing of your vehicle. I understand your concerns, and Id like to clarify the regulations outlined in ********** Vehicle Code (CVC) ***** as they apply to this situation.
Signage Requirements CVC ***** requires that signs be posted at the entrances of the property, which this property does have. There is no requirement that parking rules must be posted in any parking area.

24-Hour Notice Requirement There is no requirement that a vehicle must be given a 24-hour warning before being towed.

Towing Authorization & Documentation All requested information, including the specific reason for the tow, copies of any required notices, and proof of authorization, was provided to you when you picked up your vehicle. Additionally, per CVC *****, for tows from residential areas, the signer information on the authorization must be redacted for privacy reasons.

Vehicle Handling & Damage Concerns Your vehicle was towed from the rear with dollies placed under the front wheels, ensuring that all four wheels were lifted off the ground. This method is compliant with proper towing procedures for all-wheel-drive vehicles.

    Sincerely

This tow company towed our *** thats park in a disabled parking with a valid disabled parking placard, I told them about it but they said the security told them to tow it, they charge me 450 dollars for them to release my ***, they should of listen when I tried to explain that their not suppose to listen to the security now theyre the one wholl face the consequences of their wrong action. I want the maximum amount for their mistakes. They are lying what the management and them saying, first the tow company towed my *** wrongfully cause it has a valid disabled placard, and second the management said that the security is not suppose to be calling a tow company, but the tow company told me that the security called them. Third the security does not have authority to give notice in the property without telling the property management.

    Business Response

This is in response to your complaint received by the BBB. The stated problem is that your Van was towed from an apartment building while you were parked in a disabled space with a disabled placard in it.
Rebellos was called to the apartment that you were parked in to tow the van because it was parked in violation of the property rules. An authorized signer of the property called us and signed to have it towed. Any vehicle found in violation of the rules is subject to being towed at any time, even if it is parked in a handicap space.
However, you believe the person who signed to have your vehicle towed is not allowed to sign, for they are listed as an authorized signer and allowed to sign for vehicles in violation.
Rebellos is contracted with this property to remove vehicles that are parked in violation of the property rules and the vehicle code. An agent of the property witnessed your car in violation and signed to have it towed. Your vehicle was removed pursuant to and in accordance with all state and local laws pertaining to the removal of vehicles from private property.

Rebellos towing is a predatory towing company that enters private property of the *********************** *** in ******** ********** and tows vehicles away. I believe that Rebellos is in violation of CA Assembly bill ****. It is illegal for a towing company to commit satellite towing or to have a spotter. A rebellos driver trespassed onto the property and towed my vehicle. They held the vehicle for less that 2 hours and charged what was essentially a $360 ****** to release the vehicle. When I asked them to provide me information about which property owner or HOA member authorized the tow they refused to release the information (but lied and said that they did have a signature from a resident, I believe this is false because I have seen the driver lurking the property on several occasions)In order to enter the property a gate code is required that only residents have which leads me to suspect that they may either be using a spotter or that the truck driver/tow company has illegally stored the gate code from a previous incident. I have seen the same companys trucks return to the property 4 times and drive around the private property to look for victims and then the driver leaves empty handed. In my opinion this company is guilty of trespassing and predatory towing and is in violation of assembly bill **** and should be subjected to fines.

This letter is in response to your complaint received by the BBB. The stated problem is that your car was for being parked in a fire lane and You believe that tow was illegal and that Rebellos was trespassing on private property
Unfortunately,I am unable to find a car that was released to you. Without more information, I will not be able to speak about your tow specifically. Generally speaking,Rebellos has a general authorization contract with that property and is allowed on the property to tow cars that are in violation of the parking rules.Rebellos does not engage in the use of spotters or satellite towing, however, people do call our office on a daily basis to report vehicles that are improperly parked, whether they do that because they have been towed before or as a matter of civic pride I can not say but these are not solicited or paid for by anyone.
Although you say your car was towed illegally, I assure you that Rebellos follows all local and state laws in all of the tows we do. I am sorry I can not speak directly about your car, but I would need more information to know what car you are talking about.

Car was towed to lot from my apartment complex. The fees required to release vehicle were charged under false premise and conditions. They stated that there was an "off hours fee" as they were not open on weekends, how ever the office was clearly open with full staff present. They charged a Gate Fee/storage fee when the vehicle was in the lot for less then 10mins. I was tracking the location of the tow as I was notified of tow and immediately followed the vehicle, it shows that the driver made stops along the way to increase mileage on the distance travelled and created additional fees incurred. This business is operating on unethical conduct in order to maximize their profits. I request an investigation into their business practice and operations to protect the community from further exploitation.

My car was towed from right under my nose. It's a clear case of Predatory Towing practices by Rebello's Towing Services ***********************************. I contacted my apartment leasing office and they said they did not call in a Towing company.

I am a resident of Solera Apartments on Scott Blvd and Royal Dr in Santa Clara. I parked my rental car right behind my new car (new car was parked in a covered parking area alloted to me) that I purchased a couple of days ago. There aren't any visible No Parking signs or 'Will be towed...' signs anywhere near the spot. The No Parking Fire Lane sign is posted on the fence and my car was not parked anywhere near that, it was only parked behind my new car that was in my spot. The Towing company says I parked in the fire lane and that it is "clearly" marked as No Parking. The sign was faded and it is marked on the road (dark background and faded solid red line with writings in faded white paint) and it was not clearly visible. I parked at 3 pm and when I tried to take my car out at around 6 pm it was gone - some illegal patrolling or a tip-off.

The Towing company is demanding $365 (for the first 24 hrs).

I would like to report this Towing company to BBB for predatory towing practices. Since this clearly seems to be some sort of scam and patrol/tip-off.
