This company has been extremely horrible they never answer calls or respond to emails. They are literally doing every thing they can to not work with me over a small hiccup which involved a missing check that was sent to them directly income deposit not coming until after rent was due they couldnt wait to put a notice on my door. ******* was completely rude, judgmental, she wouldnt allow me to speak and downright didnt want to work out a solution, then sent an email saying I was verbally abusive to employees there I talked to one person and she was disrespectful towards me. They have made numerous mistakes on my account and do not like to be held accountable they have been discriminating since I have moved here which I have made multiple complaints about.

I live in ********************* and they NEVER read their emails. I have been wrongfully charged for parking that I did not sign for in my contract and now they are sending collections after me. Terrible management.

These people are horrible and do not treat good tenants well. They currently have squatters in their complex and refuse to put tenants at ease that things are being taken care of. They do not care about the tenants that pay A LOT. They take poor care of their amenities and do resolve issues well such as garbage disposal. There a lot of kids that live in this complex and it is concerning that this building does not have good security. *********************** is one of the workers and she is awful. She can't answer your questions and is extremely unfriendly. She is sneaky and does not get things done. I have lived here for 3 years and have been a good tenant. None of us in the complex should be dealing with squatters with masks walking through the hallways at night.

They harass tenants ,allow gardeners to vandalise vehicles and place large adhesive no parking stickers on car windows valdalising cars without notice on private parking garage locations we pay extra for . Not telling us why we can't park infront of our own private garage. Then not putting dates or times on the massive adhesive stickers just threats " don't park here or be towed next time " outrageous! It took industrial level adhesive removers and a razor to remove these massive stickers . They allow gardeners to not be responsible for damages they caused to paint on vehicles scratching them up with their lower back packs going between parked cars hitting them with their blower hoses too. Caught on camera but never any consequences. They don't lock security gates allowing for car thefts break ins in our parking areas . Breaching our security we have remote access but they just leave gates open 24 hours . No pest control at all, black widows taking over all the balconies patios stairs and inside of residences. Signs of Vermon mice and rodents p*** all over railings and outside balconies. Appliances severely damaged scratched up chrome broken dryers ,dishwashers and plumbing issues garage disposals so old sealed shut unable to spin out old rotting debre left in sink for years ,cabinets so old lacquer peeling off falking into food on counters . Bathroom fans roar like motors are all going out they don't replace them they just clean them putting old ones back into units. Never cleaned AC /heater vent filters had 6 year old filter still inside causing serious respiratory issues in sensitive tenants with respiratory concerns. No maintenance to filters routinely at all. Never replace damaged windows screens to upper story windows let them be ripped torn and flapping in the wind. Tenahtbunsble to open windows to get screened air . It's a total eyesore. No light fixtures were ever cleaned, appliances had food bugs grime spider webs Floor behind fridge and stoves .

I lived in ************ an Essex Apartments owned building. The issue all stems from management, lack of communication and being present and handling and issues that arise on the complex from package theft, to bug problems to general questions, they have no overall concern of renters well being. They do not get back via phone, text or email and hardly ever answer any calls. The apartments would be nicer if they were better maintained by a team that actually cared for their residents and the community they were building.

Our experience with Essex management is horrible, they never answered the phone or emails. They make it impossible to communicate with them and their only way of communication is automated emails about paying un just bills. They are charging us for carpet replacement for normal wear and tear of a 1 year living in the apartment. We have been asking them for justifications and they never respond. This is a fraud and will exercise my legal rights against them.

As a tenant I am being forced to use a Internet/WiFi /******** assessable through the app from anybody in the world, then denies 2, reasonable accommodations request concerning my quality of life Smart Lock on front door that monitors visually and audio able. To be removed giving my a key doesn't address my fears and concerns of safety and my civil rights of privacy 2. As a tenant 5 months later The ledger shows that I am $2,000 behind on utility charges for sewage trash and water when the lease addendum, says that that is the landlord's responsibility.

My experience with Essex properties was horrible in *********, **. Besides them installing an industrial HVAC system that is incredibly loud inside my apartment (in R1-5 zoning), they falsely claimed that this is a non-smoking community. I had to deal with constant tobacco smell outside my apartment and smoke coming from my vents, nothing has been done after my numerous complaints. On top of all this, during the flush flooding storms the side walks were constantly flooded and nobody bother to clean the drains. And after installing solar panels on carport roof, during the flooding storm they decided to perform safety testing on those roofs, which means the vendor who completed the setup did not follow the safety standards and rules and did not test the structure in the controlled environment prior installation. Essex property trust does not care about the very basic safety of their customers/residents and I cannot believe that ***************** allows them to continue conducting their business in such unsafe manner.

My experience has been horrific with Essex properties. Before I moved in to their building I informed them of my need for religious accommodation, which is a manual key for the Jewish Shabbat. Before I applied I toured the building and noticed everything was electronic. So I specifically asked them if they would accommodate my need for a manual key to get in on Saturday. They said the manual key to my unit would be in my unit when I moved in, and it would take a little longer to figure out how to get a manual key for the actual building but I would get it. I signed the lease, moved in - but there was no manual key. I had to relocate for two Shabbats and now will have to for a third. They just told me today, almost three weeks after I moved in that they cant accommodate my request. Their communication is horrific. Their programs dont work I had to resubmit my application and lease many times due to their glitches. I was patient all along - but only to be pulled along and then told they cant accommodate me three weeks into moving into my apartment. I paid $850 for movers and many many other expenses! Its a disaster.UPDATE: they said they are working it out with me.. ***** said I will be getting my security deposit, plus $500 and some days of rent back. The post move out team keeps on insisting I am only getting back $211 more than my deposit. THEY ARE A SCAM. DO NOT FALL PREY TO THIS COMPANY. They take a really long time to get back to me and dont keep their word.

We finally moved out of Pathways (owned by Essex Property Trust) which was the worst experience we have ever had in a rental. Aside from the flea infestation upon moving into Pathways, we later experienced water bugs, mice, mosquitos, chronic cigarette and weed nuisance pouring into our apartment every single day to the point of making us ill. The manager **** who is incompetent and vindictive has been harassing us by retaliating against us by trying to ruin our credit with fraudulent charges. If you like smelling weed and cigarette smoke in your apartment 24/7 with a open drain in front of your door where your apartment is filled with mosquitoes and big giant water bugs in your bath tub and each time you turn on the light in your kitchen (water bugs everywhere) and poor, unprofessional, incompetent management who is a big liar, Pathways owned by Essex Property Trust is for you. We are happy to be out of their cheaply built dump with the walls so thin where you can literally hear your neighbors urinating and walking back & forth. Pathways is the worst apartment complex in ********** and we regret ever moving there.
