I enrolled in ed2go’s Pharmacy Technician (Voucher Included) program. They should reduce the cost and not include course materials. I could get all the material in physical copies ordered and here within a week, but somehow the “supply issues” seem to be targeting ed2go only. This next part is directly from their website, “The instructional materials required for this course are included in enrollment. The following textbooks will be shipped to you approximately 7-10 business days after enrollment: The Pharmacy Technician: A Comprehensive Approach Pharmaceutical Calculations for Pharmacy Technicians Law and Ethics for Pharmacy Technicians Fundamental Pharmacology for Pharmacy Technicians Fundamental Pharmacology for Pharmacy Technicians Workbook Pharmacy Lab Kit with Manual (only available for residents of U.S./Canada; additional information available in the FAQs section)* Externship packet and lab coat provided upon acceptance into the Externship Program”. Nowhere does it mention that 2 of the textbooks are not printed by the company until your enroll in the course and that it takes 4-6 weeks for them to be shipped. I understand there are ebooks, but when I tried to explain that ebooks are not compatible with my learning style, I was told that the reality of the situation was I wasn’t getting a refund. I asked for a refund for those two titles based on ed2go not being forthcoming with all necessary information prior to my enrollment, I was told that “backorder” is a blanket term they use to also refer to books that are printed upon enrollment although I don’t see any mention of the 4-6 weeks, so again they’re still in the wrong but will not admit it. They don’t understand that they’re being dishonest in their business practice. They did offer a 12 week extension, but that’s not what I need is for them to deliver on their part of this agreement.

    Hello,

This student is outside our 10-day refund policy, but as an exception to standard policy, we are offering the student a partial refund for the cost of the materials that are on backorder. With
the refund offer, the backordered materials will not be shipped to the student. She will need to purchase these on her own. She will still have access to the eBooks that are and have been available since the start of her class. Ed2go will only ship the
Pharmacy Lab Kit and Manual as this is shipped separately and is received
within 3 months of initial enrollment. As a side note, the Lab Kit is not
    required for completion.

This student was also offered an extension, she would just need to reply to our Support team.

I signed up for an online C++ course in October 2021. I have been sick with Covid19. I was given the option to pay for an extension, but I was presented with two options $75 and $150, with different advisors saying the same thing. I tried to contact someone today, but the phone was unreachable. However, for another ed2go program, I was offered a free extension. No one was ever able to tell me why I had to pay an additional extension fee.

Our Student Support Department is reaching out to the student directly to help resolve her issue. I believe her request for an extension will be accommodated.

    Thank you.

I enrolled in the edu2go ICD10/CPT Medical Billing and Coding which had a 9 month completion time in Aug 2021. This was a waste of time and money. It is unacceptable to offer a course and not have the physical books available for a student. I had to wait 2 months to get the physical books. An ebook was available. I informed the advisor of my learning issues and that I could not learn without physical books. I was offered a 30 day hold on the course. I was told the books would arrive soon, so I declined and kept trying to stay up to date with the ebook. The course, in no way prepared me for future employment as the course eluded too. I maintained an A average and I still have not gotten 1 interview since completion. I had planned on taking the National Exam but I am in no way prepared for such a test with the poor education I received. I kept hoping it would get better but it didn't. This course is 100% figure it out on your own. I emailed several times to ask questions and the responses were not helpful either. I am now enrolling with a different school for the same class. A Cerificate of Completion has not been sent to me either. Save your money and look somewhere else. False advertising at its finest.

    Business Response

    Hello,

In response to this student's complaint, please be advised:
    • There is currently a national supply chain issue and we've had books on backorder. However, e-books are available at the start of the course so the student is able to proceed through their coursework. In addition, a 30-day hold was offered to this student to accommodate the delayed shipment of her books. She declined.
    • After review of this student's account, it appears the
student was assisted throughout her enrollment and passed with flying colors
(as the student mentions). The student completed on time and received her voucher
      information on March 30, 2022.

      Included
with the exam voucher package is the following-

      • (1) CCA exam
        attempt

      • AHIMA membership

      • MindTap Access for CCA
        review

Students are shipped additional coding manuals once their
voucher codes are sent to them. These coding manuals meet the list of allowable
code books. These do not fall under “updated” materials; they are additional
items provided only with the CCA route.

Student are encouraged to use the materials provided
within the program as well as the study materials provided within the voucher
package to prepare for the exam. We also do not guarantee job placement, and
only prepare students for the certifying exam.

    • Finally, we confirmed the partner school emailed the student a copy of her Certificate of Completion on 10/26/2022, and they are mailing her the Certificate as well.

Based on the findings above, we are unable to approve the student's refund request.

I was afraid this was a scam from the start, and I was right. I got through almost all of the phlebotomy course online, but ended up stopping once I realized no one in their right mind will hire me because I have ZERO experience sticking a live human. Ed2Go does NOT send you out for externship AT ALL! You have to do that on your own, which no one wants to hire you again, because you have not practiced on a live human. They did give me an opportunity to get a refund before a certain time, but I remained hopeful it wasn't a scam and I would be able to get an externship and hired on somewhere, but that never happened due to NO EXPERIENCE WITH A LIVE HUMAN!!! Most of the time you couldn't get an answer from anyone or it took days, and I NEVERRRRRR EVER received ANY replies from my so called "TEACHER". pathetic!!!

    Hello,

We have reviewed this student's complaint and respectfully deny her request for a refund. We will however offer her a transfer to a different program, outside of policy.

This student has a history of being rude and inappropriate in her communication with the Student Advising team. I would just request she be courteous and respectful in her communication with our staff if she chooses to accept a transfer.

The following communication went out to her today:

    Hello *****,

My name is ******* and I work
with the Student Services department, handling requests related to policy. My
team has been notified that you submitted a complaint with the BBB against
ed2go. The concerns you raised around the subject of obtaining an Externship
    have been reviewed by management.

We understand that it can be
challenging to locate an Externship opportunity after completing a training
program that is offered entirely online. For this reason, we emphasize in our
online course catalog that students are responsible for securing their own
externship location, and that it is strongly recommended that students have a
clinical location secured prior to enrollment. You can review this statement on
our website, under the ”Details + Objectives” section: https://www.ed2go.com/courses/health-and-fitness/medical/ctp/certified-phlebotomy-technician-voucher-lab-included

    As an online education provider,
it is our mission to ensure students have access to course work that will help
them reach their personal and professional goals. We recognize that you no
longer feel this program will assist you in this way, so we would like to offer
you the opportunity to transfer to a different course. This program transfer
offer is an exception to our standard Transfer Policy, which states that
students have 60 days to request a program transfer. If you would like to
accept this offer, please select a program that you would like to transfer to,
from Texas State University’s ed2go course offerings, and respond to this email
with the full course title. You can find Texas State University’s ed2go catalog
    at: https://careertraining.ed2go.com/txstce/

    Please be advised that this
offer will be documented and provided to the BBB as ed2go’s proposed resolution
    to your concerns.

Please let me know how you would
    like to proceed.

    Sincerely,

    ******* ******** | she/her

We will await the student's response regarding the offer to transfer.

I am rejecting this response because:

I was "rude" or stern when I had to repeat myself since they don't answer very quickly, or they don't pay attention to what I have asked of them.  I asked numerous times to hear from my so called "instructor" and not once did she/he ever reply to my messages.
I also advised them about video's not working, but they gave me an excuse.  This was a waste of my time and money.  I wish I had looked over other reviews before giving scammer's my hard earned money.

I didn't ask for a full refund either.  I asked for a partial refund, because no one will hire a person who has no live sticks.

    Hello,

This student's request for a partial refund was denied. However, we are willing to offer her a transfer to a different program as previously mentioned.

Back on 2/15/2022, I was always interested in Medical Billing and Coding. Northshore Tech Community College and Ed2go were partners. The cost of the program was $2995. While speaking with a ******, I made the down payment of $200 in two transactions($101.00 and $99). This left $2795 to be financed at 9% interest. Ed2Go used Launch Servicing to collect payment on their accounts and by March 10, 2022, on account XXX851000 I paid in full $2801 to Launch Servicing LLC. Then, I received a paid in full letter on March 11, 2022 that my balance was paid in full on March 10, 2022 and the credit bureau would reflect a $0 balance. I studied night and day for 6 months in order to gain employment sooner. I passed the Medical Terminology and Medical Billing and Coding course with "A." By the way, I still have not received my Certificate of Completion and today is 10/4/2022. During the six months, I tried applying for jobs in the Medical Billing and Coding field as an apprentice/entry level, but was unsuccessful in gaining employment. Ed2Go advertised an externship. After filling out a survey and emailing my resume Ed2Go was trying to assist me in finding a job. I was then told that Ed2Go really did not have externships in my course and I had to find an externship. I had just moved to Louisiana so was not able to locate a place to work.

I needed to take the CPC exam, I studied the online review, AAPC study guide and Practice exam, YouTube videos, reading guidelines from the ICD10 and CPT coding books. I added notes within these books. Fast forward to 8/16/2022, I logged into Examity at 11:15 for my 11:30 exam and was yelled at by the proctor for ten minutes to adjust the camera. I had never seen an exam like this one so time was a major factor. ED2GO's course had not prepared me for this exam at all. I scored a 69% out of 70%. I attempted the test on 9/30/22 and was still unsuccessful due to technical issues. I am asking for a refund Ed2Go, please help somehow!

    Business Response

    Date: 10/18/2022

    Hello,

Our Student Services department already responded to this student's request for a refund for the cost of the exam. Her request is denied. Please see below.

    Hello ******,

My name is ****** and I work with
ed2go’s Student Services department handling escalated student requests related
to our policies.  We are sorry to hear you a struggling with passing the
CPC certification exam offered by the AAPC.  We do not provide students
with refunds for the cost of the exam voucher when they do not pass the
    certification exam.

There are many ways that our course
(and resources) prepares you to sit for the CPC exam. In fact, this is one of
our most popular courses and our students have been very successful in gaining
certification. While the exam is challenging, the AAPC believes that if
students utilize the resources in conjunction with completing our online
course, they will be fully prepared.

CPC Exam – How to prepare for
the exam with the resources available

Below are the three products that
the students should be using to prepare for the CPC Exam:

     ·
CPC Practice Exams – These are questions that
are mirrored from the final exam, they have unlimited attempts and ultimately
it is the best tool that someone can use to prepare for the exam.

    ·
CPC Self-Paced Online Review – This is an
eight-hour online training that teaches the student how to prepare for the
exam. Covers subjects like frequently missed questions, how to mark your code books,
    sample test questions, etc.

    ·
CPC Study Guide – This is a 12-chapter book that
is specifically designed to help a student pass the exam. Reviews each code
set, Medical Terminology & Anatomy & coding for each body system.
Includes testing techniques & sample test questions.

Students are set up upon completion
of their ed2go course with the CPC Practice Exams, CPC Self-Paced Online Review
and Practicode (all through the AAPC online access).  The CPC study Guide
is mailed to the students upon course completion.

This exam has a high completion rate. We stand by this denial.

I am rejecting this response because:

I went into this program with the hopes of acquiring a new career. However, after completing the course, I submitted my resume and completed a survey for an externship.  For me, I needed hands on experience as I was a novice to medical billing coding. I was then told that ED2GO does not provide an externship for this program and I would have to do find a place to work on my own.  Once again, I had just moved to a new state.  The exam has a lot of moving parts and resources and would require another six months of studying-I no longer have the time to study for this test.  If I had passed the exam, I would still have to either complete the Practicode or try to locate a job. It seems like a vicious cycle.  I have talked to others who have taken the test and it is difficult for them to find employment as they have taken a year.  I see from the other complaints that the exam was taken several times, but some failed to pass.  Just like myself, they were one-three points away from passing. Yes, the exam may have a high completion rate, but what is your actual success rate. Even after being yelled at for ten minutes by a proctor,  I completed the first test, but was one point away from passing on two parts.  Thank you for adhering to your denial, but I must deny your response and am still requesting a refund on any unused portions of this course. I do not feel like your coursework prepared me for the exam.  There is no hands on component(real world application/clinical).  I do not feel like this is to much to ask as I am not requesting the full amount which is $2995.  My request only includes the Practicode, 2 Practice test, and my unused membership.  Are you ****** or ***** as I am confused by the names on the response?  Again, thank you for finally responding to this letter and the popularity of your program is just advertising.

I stand by my rejection of your denial.

    Hello,

We are still rejecting the student's claims. We offered her extensive assistance and options for

ED2GO'S coursework does not prepare a student to take the exam.  The majority of my complaint was about finding a job in which to practice new skills.  Again it would take six months to study for another exam as there are a lot of moving parts. I do not have the time.  The test proctoring is part of Ed2go because they pass the buck to the AAPC.  It is so funny how now this company wants to be a separate entity.  I stand by my initial rejection of their denial.

I took the Microsoft Office Master 2019 course May through October 2021. I paid a grand total of $2095 ($1695 for the course, and an additional $400 for 4 exam vouchers to become master certified). I am requiring that the $400 that I paid for the 4 unused exam vouchers be refunded by Ed2go due to multiple issues I have encountered when attempting to utilize them. When I completed the course in October 2021, I was given the 4 vouchers that were good for up to one year (through 10/22/22) along with instructions that specified they had to be utilized "at" a Certiport Authorized Testing Center. Late July 2022 I started looking for a center that would allow me to take the exams, however I had no success and then contacted Ed2go for advice. They gave instructions that informed me that I could take the exams from home online (not originally mentioned when I first received the vouchers). I had my first exam date through Certiport on September 7th at 6pm and was given instructions on how to go about getting everything set up. I logged in about an hour before the exam to get everything prepared, but the instructions didn't seem to be very specific, and I was forced to cancel the exam 5 minutes prior to start time (long story short). I asked Ed2go for a refund for the unused vouchers, but they declined reasoning that "I missed the exam date" (which was false) and that "I had the vouchers for almost a year anyway" (which is irrelevant). At that point I contacted the 3rd party that works with Certiport (Get Certified America) to get further assistance; however, they simply accused me of not following the instructions and informed me that I needed to find a different testing center (along with a facetious quote that stated I needed to prove my power and knowledge).

The course itself went well, the Certiport concept did not, as I was given insufficient information and support.

I posted a review on this matter on 09/20/22 (per BBB recommendation), Ed2go did not respond.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/12/2022

In response to ***** ********** complaint, please be advised of the following:

At the time the student completed the course, our Post Completion’s department sent the student the exam voucher details via a notification.  At that time, the notification indicated: The exam must be taken at a Certiport Authorized Testing Center (CATC)Due to changes during COVID, Certiport now offers an online testing option and the notification that goes to students has been updated to include those details.

It sounds like the student was unaware of the online testing option with Certiport initially, which is the source of his initial frustration as he could not locate a test location. The student indicates he eventually got set up with online testing and then experienced some technical issues unrelated to ed2go and did not take the exam on his test date (but the voucher is considered used).

To mitigate the frustration the student experienced, we can have our Post Completion Team contact Certiport and ask if they will re-assign the unused vouchers at no cost. In the alternative, if Certiport is unable to accommodate a no-cost reassignment of the vouchers, ed2go will re-issue the exam vouchers free of charge to the student.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 10/14/2022

I am rejecting this response because:

With all due respect to Ed2go’s improved attempt to resolve this issue, I am standing firm on my requirement of being refunded the $400 for the 4 (four) unused exam vouchers. Although their response to the issue is (at least) partially accurate, the fact of the matter was that the CATC’s in my area would not allow you to test there to begin with unless you were already a student with the institution. The at home online concept also required a $35 proctor fee per exam as well (not originally mentioned) and additional software that may have required an additional investment. There was really no technical issue when I went to take the first exam, the instructions I received from the 3rd party as far as the proper software that was needed to proceed (and overall in general) did not appear to be specific enough from what I saw. When I contacted the 3rd party (Get Certified America) the following day to get further assistance so I could try again (per ****** of Ed2go’s advice), and to find out if the additional software would require a fee, the representative (*********) simply accused me of not reading the instructions and informed me that I needed to go find a different testing center (thus burning the bridge on the whole concept). The tone of her response was corrupt and unprofessional, which raised red flags as far as the overall credibility of the entire process and operation. It is still my goal to build on my skills that I learned through the actual course, however I am choosing to achieve my goals (of taking them to the next level) by utilizing a different concept and institution(s) moving forward.

    Business Response

Here’s an additional response for ***** Thompson. I’m unable to upload this to the BBB Website.

Our voucher team reached out to our Certiport contact last Friday to get clarification on this student’s voucher attempts and the instructions they referred to. They are not familiar with the instructions the student mentioned and asked if they were sent from “Certiport” or “Get Certified” (the online proctoring platform they use). Based on the notes, I wasn’t able to determine either.

Regarding the vouchers, our contact advised since the student cancelled their exam prior to taking it, the voucher was not used. The student should still have their original 4 vouchers available to use and we would not need to reassign new ones.

The issue I found is that the vouchers expire on October 22, 2022. I responded to our contact on Monday (10/10/2022) to see if we could get the expiration dates extended, but I have not received a response yet. I will follow up once more.

At this point, if the student would like to use the current vouchers, they would need to redeem the vouchers prior to that date. Otherwise, I will update you once I hear back from Certiport about an extension or reassigning at no cost to ed2go.

If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you!

I am rejecting this response because:

The instructions that I received were from the proctor (Get Certified America), just to clarify. My requirement for the refund of the vouchers still stands.

In response to the student's rejection, we are unable to grant the partial refund due to the information we previously provided (and attach hereto) surrounding this request. We are able to provide a replacement voucher that is good for 30 days. If/when the student is ready to test, we would need to be notified so the voucher provider can issue the replacement. Then the student would be able to utilize it within a 30-day period.

The student chose the "voucher included" option for this course, which means the cost of the voucher was included in the cost of the course. He did not reach out until almost a year had passed and his voucher would expire. We have been able to obtain a replacement voucher for him to use. We hope the BBB sees this as a reasonable attempt to rectify this situation.

I am rejecting this response because:

I do not agree with them at all, as this is an issue that falls into the category of credibility as opposed to payment scenario and time frame. They need to understand the responsibility of an operation when they collect a fee from a consumer, which in this case involved a third party. The course that included the 4 exam vouchers was for $400 more than what the course would have been by itself, the scenario as far as how they collected the fee for the vouchers is not a factor. The “had the vouchers for almost a year anyway” reasoning that they are attempting to utilize is also invalid, as I was well within the 1 year time frame of 10/22/22 (that the institute itself granted) when I was in the process of getting the exam dates set up, which was late August/early September. Late July is when I started looking for an actual CATC in my area to take the exams, with no success. After that is when I learned from Ed2go that you could take the exams from home. In Ed2go’s admission, the instructions that came originally with the vouchers did not specify that you could take the exams from home. Due to the various issues that I have encountered during the entire process, I will be electing not to make another attempt at utilizing the vouchers, particularly after the negligence and disrespect that was presented to myself by both the Ed2go advisor and the third party “Get Certified America” representative who informed me to “go find another testing center” after asking for further assistance (when having difficulties on the first attempt back in early September) to try again. Self explanatory.

My requirement of the $400 for the 4 unused vouchers is final. Otherwise, this will be considered an unresolved scenario (on my end) moving forward.

Exactly 13 days ago I signed up for a medical Terminology class and recently found out that the class is not transferrable as well as noting that the website looks very suspicious. I want a full refund as said in my receipt, after the 13 days have passed refunds are no longer available. However today 10-04-2022 is exactly the 13th day and I am still eligible to have my full refund returned to me. I have tried to look for a refund button or person to contact for a refund but there is no information in the website that allows you to cancel your order nor call any customer service representative. I don't recommend this website to anyone, looks very scammish! Stay Away!!!!
