I paid $25.70 on October 27, 2023, to have a battery put Into my Citizens Quartz watch. I went back on 5/11/2024 to get another battery put in because the original one stopped working. Both of these installations were done at ***********************************************************************************. You can see the attached receipt for the 5/11/2024 visit. The customer service man printed my receipt because I misplaced the one I had. It is attached. Batteries Plus also marks the watch so they know it is under the life time contract. On 1/7/2025 I went to Batteries Plus located at ***************************************************************************************** The customer service man told me they no longer do my Citizens watch because they have gone corporate. I replied doesnt corporate honor contracts. He then told me he would install the battery in my watch but this is not standard now. I told him I wanted my money back. He went to his computer and told me I was refunded. I told him he computer was wrong because I did not receive a refund. I checked my Master Card statements from May and June of 2024 and there was no refund. The attachment tilted Batteries Plus Master Card show this spending history. There is no credit for $25.70 in May or June of 2024. I want $25.70 refunded plus another $30 for the headaches, waste of time, and gas this so called lifetime battery endeavor cost me for a total of $55.70. I was lied to and my money was stolen. Thanks for considering this complaint.

After going through Better Business Bureau and finding Batteries Plus would not respond I found I could send in a complaint online to Batteries Plus. ******* or ****** with Batteries Plus responded and finally, today, after too much effort on my part, I got my refund. I do appreciate ********* help and I am copying ****** with Batteries Plus to let him know so he can inform *******. I no longer have *********  email. Thus, I do not know what Better Business Bureau needs to do with Complaint Number #******** so I will let ******** decide.

I went to Batteries Plus on **** S. Colorado Blvd to have batteries replaced. The employee took the watch to the back, and than said he couldn't change the batteries. It appears that he used a hammer to try to reattach the back plate. Now there is a dent and it will not fit. He gave me a business card for a person who might be able to change the batteries. He told me to contact his manager to get reimbursed by their insurance company. I sent an email to the address on the manager's business card, sent a message to the store through their website, and called the store. After speaking with the Manager I was sent an email to reply to. I have not gotten a reply since June 23rd. 8/3 When can I expect the check? 7/3 Hi, Please send me your full name, address and phone number so I can get Corp to send you a check.6/27 Hi, let me see what I can do.6/25 Thanks for the quick response. This watch does seem to be hard to find on websites. It has a unique leather band, and the ******* is in excellent condition. I'd be okay with receiving a check; however, I think it should be somewhere in the $100 - $115 range. 6/23 Hi, I am having trouble locating this watch. The seem to not be in stock on the websites I find. It ranges from $85-$95. Would you be okay with me having Corporate sending you a check instead? 6/21 Trying locate a replacement. I will update you tomorrow.6/21 Information on reverse: Authentic ************************************ watch is in "barely-used" condition. It has very little wear and tear.6/21 Hi, This is the email to send the picture to.6/14 Good day Pxxxx Pxxxxx: On Sunday June 11th I brought my watch to your store to have the batteries replaced. **** took the watch and when he brought it back he said that he couldn't change the batteries. The cover of the watch had a large dent on it. It is now bent and cannot be put back on the watch. Kxxx told me to contact you as you "can get the loss covered." What are the next steps?

False advertising. This morning I went into this business to get a replacement watch battery. Business has an electronic sign in the store which advertises different products and services. One of the rotating panels says: "Watch battery replacements. One-time or Lifetime." Yet, the employees told me they only do the lifetime (for the life of my watch) replacements for $21. They were not persuaded by my argument that they cannot legally or ethically advertise a service (in this case one-time battery replacement) which they do not provide.

I think that BBB should insist that Bateries Plus remove the advertisement (on a TV screen) that says ""Watch battery replacements. One-time or Lifetime."  They in fact no longer offer a "one-time" replacement and force the consumer to buy a lifetime battery replacement package for watches.  They should either get rid of the above slogan or offer one-time battery replacements.  As is, this is false advertising.
