When using the term “warranty” or “guarantee” the advertiser should clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the warranty can be seen prior to the sale which could include putting it on the seller’s website. Advertisers should disclose any material limitations on a "satisfaction guarantee" or "money back guarantee" and define, for consumers, the meaning of claims such as "lifetime guarantee."

Advertisers should ensure that testimonials and endorsement are not misleading and represent the current opinion of the endorser. A consumer endorser’s experience should reflect what users generally achieve, unless there is a clear and conspicuous disclosure of what the expected results will be.  Advertisers should not include claims in testimonials that they themselves cannot make and support.

Claims relating to performance and results should be backed up by reliable evidence.

Alert

On December 11, 2024, Better Business Bureau was alerted to a business operating as Sugar Defender.

A search with the Colorado Secretary of State did not yield a business registration.

BBB visited the reported business address and discovered it to be a fulfillment center named ShipOffers. Further investigation revealed multiple websites associated with the business, all of which lacked additional contact information.

BBB found that the reported business email and phone numbers are managed by a customer service company, LogiCall, based in Canada. After speaking with a representative from LogiCall and attempting to connect with their client, Sugar Defender, BBB sent several follow-up emails and phone calls. However, LogiCall became unresponsive after the initial exchanges. Sugar Defender failed to provide any response.
