1 starI always had the dream of having my first home, you guys ruined that moment. Since the first moment that we came by for info, the sales man was so rude. But that is not the issue, but the house construction. We were told that we will be getting updates every Friday, if we got contacted 3 times in more than 1 year Im exaggerating. Process was so hard, workers that didnt care and the construction supervisor is a disaster. If you ask him about anything, he said: I dont know, I have no idea. When we got the keys, we found urine residue in the toilet, the lid was YELLOW!!! We found snacks with mold inside the cabinets. Our grout is supposed to be gray, its BROWN!!! And is missing in some parts. They never cleaned, and I am still working on getting the dirt from it. **** is coming out from the showers as they are not completed. Doors on the inside were black with boots marks and I wasnt able to closed not a single one of them. The tiles are installed very bad, some of them higher than others and not aligned. Master window was supposed to be replaced before we got the keys, they NEVER DID IT. We are missing 2 window screens and they cant do that either. They were working in the house next to mine, they removed the plants from my side and leave it like that. We had tried to get this things fixed with ****, the construction supervisor. He dont answer, and when he saw us around he look to the other way. This home is a disaster and this builder is the worst. They dont care and they only want to sell and then is your problem. And I am sure that I am missing more issues. If you are on time, GO AWAY. Dont be the next 1 star is alot, they dont deserve it!!Review fromGloria D.

1 starI purchased a new build home in Feb 2022. I was preapproved for the home by this company. Mid process they declined me due to a job change (Making more). Then kept my $3483 binder because they said I defaulted. Mind you the house isn't even completed. They can't say they kept it because I pick certain colors etc because they did what they wanted regarding that. I picked slate grey for the exterior they made the exterior tan. I picked peppercorn for the front door. They put up a white door. And no they did not tell me my husband drove by to check on the progress of the home and discovered it. Their response was "well your contract states we are authorized to make substitutions. But sorry we didn't tell you". The only reason I chose 1 star is because there is no an option to choose zero. Awful company!!Review fromBarbara J.

1 starZero. We moved into our home 5 months ago and we're still waiting for things to be replaced or repaired. First of all, Richmond must know inspectors, at the ******************** because it's difficult to believe any "certified inspector," could/would issue a Certificate of Occupancy, for an "incomplete home, with some "safety" issues. My husband ran and owned his own General Contracting Business in ** and said this kind of incompetence and negligence for "safety," would NEVER be tolerated. Evidently, Richmond must have some "friends," at the ******************** because I have spoken, with numerous Richmond *****'s, who experienced the same nightmares. This house never should have been issued a "CO." It was unfinished, had damage, and had safety issues. My husband had to fix all the safety issues and he has all the "out of pocket" receipts to prove it, and as I'm writing this, we're still waiting for "repairs, replacements, painting, etc., so our home will finally be finished. No one from Richmond American has even had the "decency to reimburse us for our expenses. They have copies of everything. I have spoken with residents and they have no problem filing a "class action suit against Richmond American Builders.Review fromVivian L

1 starMy daughter and I started the purchase process with Richmond Homes on December 31, 2021. We are still not in our home. Their conservative estimate to close is October 2022. I seriously doubt that this is going to happen. Homes that were started months after our home got started are farther along than ours. They poured our foundation in February 2022. We still don't have siding or roofing. Homes that had their foundation poured 3 months after ours have siding and roofing at least started. We have sent emails questioning why this is happening. No response. We were told that we would get updates weekly on the progress. We are lucky if we get an update once a month and it is only a one line update, like "electrical wiring starting next week". Communication is horrible. I have also been called "Snippy" because they had my email incorrect and I spelled it out for them when they called pronouncing the letters slowly. Apparently this is too much for them and they had to call me a name behind my back.I am well past being patient with Richmond Homes. I am a 60 year old woman, sleeping on the floor in my daughters current home. I have bought several homes in my lifetime. None have been this frustrating. My daughter has an offer on her current home but we keep having to push back the closing date as we don't have anywhere to go yet. My advice is, don't go with Richmond homes, you won't be treated with respect or dignity.Review fromNicole G

1 starHorrible expectance to say the least. We decided to buy a new home. We were told that we can pick out what we want from the home. When we got the call that our lot is ready we were also told that we can only have certain things done to the home that THEY choose, so we had no say in what we wanted or didn't want. We signed for the home in March 2022 and was told that our home will be ready in Nov 2022. We were later told that it can take ***** months for it to be ready. They will say anything just to get a sale but not hold up on their side of the deal. We sold our Condo and had to live with family, I can't imagine families who don't have family to live with when told a date to find out it's going to be longer. This company will not do customers right. Be aware, don't waste your time with this company who doesn't care. We had our own realtor and loan officer. However the lady in the office was very pushy about going through their financial company. I got countless text and emails about going through them instead because they had better offers. In the long run, they really didn't. There were other issues and life that came about and they management team was not willing to work with us or our realtor.Review fromMcKala R

2 starsThis is my husband and Is first home, and we are disappointed with how our house has been built. Our house was built in August of 2020 which is also the month we moved in. We have had multiple issues with our home from then to now, but the biggest one being roof leaks. We started with one leak and when we contacted Richmond American, ************* (the ********* Director) told us that since our roof warranty is good for 1 year after closing that they deny our request to have it repaired. It is not a warranty issue! Its a workmanship issue, as someone put a siding nail straight through a shingle on our roof when Richmond built it!!! After multiple emails & getting hardly any responses, we informed them that we were going to file a complaint to the BBB. After that, they finally had someone come out, but instead of fixing it, he made the leaks worse. We now have 5 leaks in our roof!!! We have decided to go with another business to help us with our roof leaks. We will not be buying a house from Richmond American again and will certainly not recommend them as a builder due to their lack of home care.Review fromWanda L

2 starsMy name is *********************, I reside in ********************************************************************* We purchased our home in ************* located in North ************. We reside in ********************************************************************* We closed the house on February 28, 2022. Richmond installed a temporary garage door without the motor automatic opening and closing of our garage door. The reason-----"Lack of supplies". Meanwhile, the other homes that have closed their home and moved in their new homes after us "have the real garage door". The reason, Richmond doesn't want to put a temporary on them, and install new ones right after. So, it would cost less for them. Meanwhile, we are still waiting for ours to be put in. We still don't have our real garage door. Yes!!! We paid for it too. This is rather frustrating and unacceptable. There were no updates, no phone calls, no letters, no emails to keep us posted. I find that so unprofessional and not a good business matter for such a big builder like Richmond American Homes. Thank you!Review fromcelestine m.

1 starI am writing this to inform others of my experience and to attempt to get help with this builder. I initially went under contract on March 3,2022 with the *********************** community in Clay County. After going under contract I was advised by FSS that I wouldn't be able to relocate to another County due to my ****** childcare license being in ***** County servicing over 15 years. I was advised that I won't be able to relocate to another County it would result in substantial financial loss and displacement of the children. I am the solo bread earner of my family and I have to shoulder lots of responsibilities. Therefore I have submitted a written letter on May 19,2022 to the sales associates asking to please transfer the contract and paid deposit of $4,300 to their ***** County location Green ******* to allow me to still purchase but in the guidelines of my ***** County FFS license.I have attempt to reach management for the past 3 months however NO CONTACT. Each week I call continue to get the run around I was asked from the associates to write a written letter requesting the transfer however NO PROGRESS; I also was asked to get the approval information from my lender that was completed back in May as well however NO PROGRESS. Still haven't heard ANYTHING from management in regards to the transfer or refund of my $4,300 deposit?? Someone PLEASE HELP as a license childcare parent our children are in need of a home and aren't in a position to loss any financials.I continue to ask but haven't been able to successfully get anything resolved. Please help!!
