I have 2 old (12-year-old) money orders given to me issued by Western Union that I have forgotten about and recently found. However, their policy, confirmed through their website, that their money orders do not expire. Although a surcharge is applicable up to the maximum of $42, which I am okay with. I tried cashing the money order from Western Union location in *******, but it was declined. I contacted Western Union (case# *********), the *** said they no longer have information about my money orders. I then submitted a refund claim (request#: *********) as instructed by their ***. I got a response back, "We wish we had better news, but unfortunately, the money order XXXXXXX5533 was handed over to the State since it was never claimed during a specific time period." If this is true, then their money order does have an expiration. They should be able to ***lace my money orders.Business Response

12/19/2024 purchased four money orders to pay my rent. Gave money orders to my landlord. After deposited in bank, three cleared and one bounced. My landlord informed me about this. I contacted Western Union and tried to speak to someone to get help. The person hung up on me. Called again and they hang up again. Called again and asked for a manager- they said she is busy it would be a while before I can talk to them, that I will get a call when manager not busy. NEVER received a call back. Both my refund claims were denied and they did not notify me, I had to call again. They said it was paid, but only said on what day and would not tell me to whom it was paid. As of 02/10/2025 my landlord verified with bank they didn't get the money - who did then? Three cleared to my landlord account and only one bounced ? I sent email to three CEO's at Western Union, waited little over a week and no response. They REFUSE to help me with THEIR mistake which is causing me additional late fees, bank return fees from my landlord and my rent is now considered not paid - landlord wants the money or will give me "pay or quit" notice over something I didn't make a mistake.... Western Union did and won't help resolve it or talk to me. Again this money was for my rent - because of Western Union mistake I could be facing an eviction. This is serious and they don't want to help me. Three out of four okay....who got my landlords money? I need this money back for my landlord - I am the only one with income trying to have a place to live and buy food. Cannot afford to just have money go to "don't know". PLEASE Help me. Deposited a Western Union Money Order that I received from a delivery customer as a Christmas Gift. They have given me the same money order for the same amount every December since 2005. After depositing the Money Order into my checking account a few days later I was notified by my bank that the money order was returned unpaid as "altered or fictitious". I consulted with the manager at my bank and she investigated the matter and learned that it was Western Unions bank that rejected the Money Order. That bank is ****************. I contacted ***** Fargo but I was told they will not discuss the issue with me because I am not the account ********* bank cannot help me any further. I contacted the persons who sent me the money order and they gave me the original purchase receipt, which I now possess. There is no alteration on the original money order and it is NOT fictitious. The funds are being held by **************** bank and Western Union status on the money order says it was already paid. Which it has NOT. Seems like an easy scam for Western Unions **************** bank to reject a legit money order and just keep the money for themselves. I purchased a money order from this company. It was damaged while in my home. I filled out the replacement paperwork, provide a bank statement and paid there $15 fee with a Postal money order. I sent all the information requested to them by Certified Mail 45 days ago. They cashed the $15 money order I sent over 40 days ago. I have called them several times and keep getting told it would take up to 30 days to respond. Its been 45 and still nothing. On 11/2/24, I purchased a ** money order from my local Food Lion (*******************************************************) in the amount of $250. I mistakenly threw the entire money order away along with the original purchase receipt. Because I did not have the bottom portion of the money order with the barcode, I completed a Western Union Monday Order Research request form, had it notarized, and mailed it in along with a photocopy of the purchase receipt from Food Lion, a photocopy of the debit card used to purchase the money order, and a $15 **** money order via **** certified mail. Per the form, I was to allow 6 to 8 weeks for the form to be processed. To date, I have not received any information regarding the lost money order. I have called customer services countless times and they continue to create new case numbers (*********, *********, ********* - are just a few of them) and tell me that someone will follow-up with me within 24 to 48 hours via email regarding the case number. To date I have not received any emails providing an update and no follow-up contact. The customer service representatives verify my email address and phone number, but refuse to allow me to speak with anyone regarding the status. They only give me the same generic message, that someone will follow-up with me via email. My **** $15 money order has been cashed so I am sure they have received the documents that I mailed in, but have not provided me my $250 refund for the money order. I am certain it has not been cashed as it has been about 14 weeks since it was purchased and 12 weeks since I mailed in the Money Order Research Request Form and the documents. I need to know the status of the lost money order as soon as possible and have my money refunded right away. I am seeking the refund for my $250 lost money order.Business Response

I have been contacting western union about a refund for a money order that was lost from my apartment complex, they gave me a tracking number, but everytime I try and get a refund from a eligible location, they arent able to do it.
