      I had a bad/horrible experience with CenturyLink internet service. I have been using their services for more than 10 years and recently around last Nov 2022 they changed by account number for my internet service. I didn't see that this had happened and it caused my automatic online payment to fail and the bill didn't get paid from Nov 2022 to Feb 2022. I get a letter in the mail on 21Feb2023 saying the bill hasn't been paid and I owe $270 dollars that needed to be paid by 3Mar2023 or my internet will be cut off. My roomate who runs a business will love this and pays half the bill I thought. I try to contact them to speak to something other than a texting operator and mainly a human operator with bad results. No one cared or understood I have been paying the company on time without issue for years. In ending I get stuck with heavy bill I didn't know was overdue with $70 dollars in late fees.       I hate Centurylink. Years of poor customer service ever since they took over Qwest. No timely responses to problems, IF EVER Mid October they rolled out their "new and improved" email platform apparently w/out QA/testing. This email stripped most of my contacts and information I had collected for years. Now I cannot send an email as the "compose feature has been disabled...suspected spam...contact customer service". Yay me! I live for contacting their customer service. I work night shift and work A LOT so I submit a ticket....since October, I have submitted probably close to or over 100 tickets. The compose feature being disabled is a reoccurring problem. They fixed it once. Now it is back and going on two weeks since I have been able to compose an email. Customer Advocacy won't help, can only help online/via email. I can't talk to them on the phone. They have me verify my password before helping me, password rejected even after verifying it is the right password. What a cluster....the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. No accountability whatsoever. Multiple complaints to the FCC...no timely response. Takes up to 30 days for them to respond. Yet I am without a service I use daily for my personal responsibilities as I am not a "smart phone" user. I rely on my email for daily ********************** after hours. No sense of urgency. Pick a different provider if you have a choice. They are nothing but a headache. **************** is easy. It simply takes communication. This communications provider has ZERO effective communication.

      CenturyLink has the WORST customer service I have ever experience by a telephone company in my entire life! On or about July 25, 2022, I contacted them regarding turning on my 94 year old Mother's new residence's phone service. Basically, I requested them to establish a new phone connection which was a single room at a facility that provides a higher level of care for the elderly in the **************. It seemed like it would happen but didn't because no telephone service technician showed up and no communication with me was made. I didn't have a good feeling speaking to the customer service ******** the same day, I contacted Consumer Cellular to activate new service with them. Within a few days and also a couple of weeks later, I contacted CenturyLink again and told them about the situation and said I wanted to terminate the service. The customer service rep said they would terminate my service. They DIDN'T, because to this day, I continue to receive monthly statements that say I owe them for services. Consumer Cellular has informed me that their line is operating. How in the world can 2 phone companies say they each have a phone line operating at the same time? I have my first bill from Consumer Cellular proving that their service began on July 25, 2022. At that point, CenturyLink's service was legally supposed to have ended and Consumer Cellular's started. What LOUSY service!

      Extremely poor customer service and lack of client **********************. I wanted to highlight two issues from the last year so others can avoid similar problems. 1. I previously had a modem from CenturyLink I purchased from them in ********. After move, I wanted to use my old modem rather than leasing a new one. I was told that I needed to use the new leased modem for set-up, but then I could return it. Which I did, but CenturyLink lost the modem. It took me close to 8 months and multiple calls to customer service to get it resolved and wipe the lease charges from my account.2. I had been using CenturyLink for work as I work from home for an large IT company. For which I need a stable IP address for work for the company firewall permissions. No problem up until a month or two ago when they moved me without notification to their new Ensemble system which dynamically changes IP addresses.I was never notified. If I had been, I could have requested to be grandfathered to have a static IP. But I cannot request a static IP now. And they have no plans to add this service to accounts on Ensemble. Again, getting simple answers to this question required multiple call backs and taking over 1 1/2 hour out of my day to get answers.In conclusion - I went to CenturyLink in ******** over 4 years ago for better client service and faster speed. Since moving to *******, CenturyLink has been as bad as ******* for service and the speeds are much lower than advertised (and paid for).

      CenturyLink did not honor my clearly posted No Solicitation sign. They dropped off marketing materials and it caused a huge disruption in my household with my dogs while I was working and on a call with a client. PLEASE honor no solicitation signs. Please review no solicitation procedures with your door to door marketing team. Thank you!

      Well it's pretty disappointing to see so many other negative reviews. It's too bad they are not trying to improve their service to improve their company. We wanted to use Lumen's services but could never get it set up. We had an employee come on a Saturday to meet the technician, no one showed. Tried to reschedule multiple times and they were not at all responsive. We reached out a couple of months ago to ask why they are charging us for services that WERE NOT PROVIDED. They offered ***** off of ****** even after acknowledging that the initial setup was not completed. Terrible customer service and absolutely not right to charge for services that are not provided. My question is if the setup was never completed, how can you justify charging someone monthly?? Makes no sense. Complete greed and dishonesty.

      Worst company ever!! On 12/2/2022 I switched from Xfinity to Quantum fiber. All was great until 12/16/22 when there was a power outage. I called troubleshooting with customer service and had to schedule a technician with their soonest availability 12/22/22. I received a text message that the outage had been resolved and no one showed up. Me still no internet. I called again this time given a new appointment 1/6/23. This continued for a month. Then I was told after a lot of phone calls and yelling on my part that a debri truck took out the line and I should be up soon. Each week triage came, each week received texts it had been resolved and each week having to reschedule. Finally after TWO MONTHS my daughter came to me crying that she was failing a class because she was unable to complete her online assignments, I just cancelled service and went back to Xfinity. I left Xfinity because of their poor customer service but I will say Quantum Fiber/ Century Link/Lumen has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. No one communicates or updates you on the outage! Most times I called and they responded that there was not sn outage reported. ONE technician was very kind gave me his cell number and tried to help. He sent emails to his supervisor about my repair. His supervisor did not respond to his request. On the day I decided not to continue with them that same technician called me and said everyone was aware of the outage and no one seem to be able to say when they would be attempting the repair. Instead they just sent the same triage every week with no idea when they would even be attempting the repair. I share this to keep anyone whose considering switching to high speed fiber optic, so not worth the aggravation. As my friend said to me Xfinity may **** but they **** the least.

      The worst place for internet. Signed up as a new customer in January and a month later I keep getting rescheduled for my install with no communication in advance horrible place to do business.

      CenturyLink is a horrible company. Their *************************** is awful, if you can get ahold of them. They are not helpful and one of the people I talked to didn't know anything about internet troubleshooting. They also do not have very good technical support. I had a Tech Appointment today and I was told a technician would be here between **** and ****. It is now after 5PM and I haven't heard from them. Meanwhile, the customer service line said they are "on track" to fix my problem. We are now without internet service while we wait for the technician to show up. We are in an area where there are very limited providers. CenturyLink is the only internet service that provides anything better than 60 download speed in our area. Unfortunately, we will have to keep their service until another provider is available. I would highly NOT recommend them to anyone looking for internet OR phone service. We cancelled our phone service today because we were getting weird calls every 5 minutes for an hour in the middle of the night. No number on the caller ID and no one was on the other end of the line. **************** could not explain or did not provide a solution for **. We cancelled our phone line. Needless to say there are a lot of reasons NOT to use CenturyLink for Internet or ************** We would rate them ZERO out of 5 stars. We are not the only people in our area that have had problems, and this is not an isolated incident. Our area and the ************* also have problems with Technical Support and **************** issues. (i.e. Technicians not even showing up with a 9am-5pm window)
