I own a 1979 Jeep CJ5 and was looking for a hard top for it. I found one on the parts breakers website and contacted them. I live 4 hours away from their business. They informed me that they were 100% sure that it would fit my Jeep. The employee stated, "I guarantee it will fit your Jeep". The price of $1800.00 was agreed upon and I traveled to Grand Junction in order to pick up the top. I took it home and knew immediately that it was not the correct top. I called the business and they continued to tell me it was correct. I finally sent them a video showing that it was incorrect, but they refused to take the top back even though I offered to drive it back. Eventually, one of the employees agreed that it was the wrong top and stated that I needed to purchase new windshield brackets in order to make the top fit correctly. I checked on the internet in regards to the top and had several people, including a man that has been working on CJ5s for 40 years, agree that the top is for earlier year CJ5 Jeeps and won't fit mine. Due to the owners incompetence and the fact that he swore it will fit my Jeep but doesn't, I think they should do the right thing and take the top back and give a full refund.

At no point did anyone at this company ever say this was the wrong top, I have attached photos of the 1979 Jeep CJ5 that we pulled this top from, I have also attached a link to this Tops very own Video (Yes we video almost any parts that are what we consider large, Hard Tops, Frames, Tubs, Etc) -

    ************************************************************************************************

    *******************************************

Having said that I have offered **** a number of solutions and it is apparent the customer did not like the way the top fit and on these early CJ5 because they are so small this is quite common, furthermore this top was listed at $2200 but we did not have the upper door hinge stated in ad description see attached and original video see link. When customer reached out and came into to purchase this top **** asked to have $400 taken off - see ***** attached invoice to show discount of $399 and he would source these. These upper door hinge body side are crucial for these doors fitting, We put this clearly in the ad and in the video, we post videos of all our large items so a customer can see the part as if they were here in person because most of our customer base is not just 4 hours away but instead 40 hours, we really have always gone above and beyond to describe and show the parts we sell so customers can make the most informed decision. We also do not do any cold calling, every sale we get is from a customer reaching us and we do not pressure sales as some yards do. Lastly these videos are not one size fits all, this video was of this exact top. On our website we state our Exhange, and warranty again because we do not offer refunds. We not only offer vides but we insisit on customers watching and approving prior to picking up or shipping large parts.
At the end of the day we sell used parts, these parts are very rare and take a ton of time to track down in the first place, We cannot just click a button when we are low and order more, the time it takes to transport the parts back here, clean them up, Photo and in this case video, post to our site, then go back and edit the description, add year ranges, tags etc I can assure you this top took the better part of an entire day to get up and ready to sale. In the case we sell a part that arrives damaged, or doesnt last the 90 days we replace the part, we pay the return shipping as well as shipping to get part back to customer. If someone like **** is unhappy with a item we offer installation which he declined, we even offered to replace the top with another Jeep issued 76-83 CJ5 Hard Top was exactly the one we had except on a customers 1979 CJ5 in Idaho, I have also included his photos in the attachements, his Jeep is the blue one and **** declined. My last offer was waiving any and all consignment / storage fees and sell this top on ***** behalf of which he wanted us to do but not bring it to us first. This is a huge huge red flag and we do not EVER sell parts we do not currently have sitting in our yard as we would be the one stuck with a upset customer if **** never brought us the top back.
At this point there is not is resolution and we are no longer talking to **** to try and work this out, **** has sent the following emails of which I have also attached to prove these copy and pasted messages. It has become apparent **** ******* is a unhinged individual who has threatened my company, I do not under any circumstances negoiate with people who threaten our livilhood even as a latch ditch effort to try and pressure us to do his will and I would encourage any customer, business owner or other individual if you find yourself in a simliiar situation cease communications, record everything and keep close, find out what you can about this person and possibly their employer, if their actions continue down a dark path of threats, report them to the powers at be. Bad reviews are not great but they are expected every once in a while. What you have to ask yourself is do your try to go above and beyond to resolve every complaint within your policies or power without comprimising your business or self integrity and if you do then you will know some people and I mean very very few will never be happy. I have been at this for over 18 years and will likely continue this into retirement. We have been a preferred member of BBB and will continue to do so as I know I too have filed a complaint or two in cases where I felt there was no other option. Perfectly fine to do this and leave reviews but making threats including financial or legal will immediatly cease communication from most companies I have worked for and ours is no different.

    to me

eh.. **** ** ******** I'm going to nuke your business with tons and tons and TONS of bad reviews.... Hold on to your hat.. ***** about to get real. Say goodbye to your little ****** ** scam business you have. Better Business Bureau is the first complaint and then the states attorney general for bad business practices. I'm sorry your ***** *** business can't even afford to take care of their customers over $1500.. Sad.. You should just go get a job if you can't make a living selling parts. Oh well. Good luck when you go bankrupt.

He has continued to send other emails of various tones

I have also included an attachement of the google review he submitted and response I gave their, I took the time on this complaint to really provide all the evidence on documentation showing what he bought, what he had access to before he traveled 4 hours to us, purchased the top and transported it back home, as well as corresponding emails from the recent days when he went unhinged not meeting him on his terms. Unfortuneatly at this point we will not be accepting any more communcation from **** ****** and any further attempt for him to try will result in police reports with both Mesa County Sheriff as well as CSP. We have submitted a CSP report as a premliminary action in the case anything unusual happens on the property and or reports filed with AG as proof of everything that has transpired vs ***** made up lies to try and seek or cause personal, financial, or physical harm.
