      I am afraid of these people* I transferred my money from a 401K to an IRA * I regret it * The person who answers the phone does not know anything* You have to be transferred to 3 people* If they cant handle your questions* How can they handle your money ?

      1st my hr person didn't tell me that they were changing from t **** price to *********** Then I go to ********** and Empower if handling my 401K. I immediately pull my funds out (it wasn't much), but the fee just demonstrated how greedy this company is.

      Horrible customer service. Doing a hardship withdrawal. They denied it as asked for additional paperwork. I provided what was need they took more than the 2 days to review came back and said now the date on the letter has to be updated to a future date even though it was a future date when the claim was submitted. I ask why they didnt ask for an updated date when they ask for a signature they said because the date was in the future which is what Im arguing but they dont seem to understand. The language barrier is a real issue. No one understands they just keep me Im correct but I still need a future date. This is ridiculous

      Getting your money withdrawn is like pulling teeth. First they told me to send some paperwork, which I did, 5 months later I check the status of withdraw, no status. they say they never received it.Upload digital copies of withdraw. They take it more money than they tell you.In the time it took to get my money out I lost 20% of it, not including fees.

      The Empower web site is NOT for regular people. You can't get info you need as simple as the account number let alone rollover stuff. Most people aren't some business savy market folks who have these 401k's our companies provide and the phone "help" is not helpful at all either. They talk fast and act like you know what they are talking about. I highly suggest they take into consideration the average citizen and stop making things so confusing. The entire time we had them the only thing you could ever do is change your contribution amounts, otherwise the "we'll help you pick plans" and such are NOT helpful, they don't explain anything to you at all. At least our NEW FIDELITY people are fantastic and so it their website.

      I have been in contact with several different representatives from Empower and have done everything that they told me to do to withdraw my funds. After several phone calls I was told my employer had responded and the funds should be deposited within a few days. When I called back I was told my request was canceled because I requested my funds too early. I had already received my separation package from my employer and was already told by an Empower rep my funds would be deposited now out of the blue my request was canceled. I am a student and a single mother. These actions by Empower are causes hardships for myself and my children that could cause a financial deficit greater than the amount of my retirement. I am wondering at this point if there if anyone has filed a class action lawsuit because after reading the reviews I am clearly not the only one having issues with this company. I did everything I was told to do which I am sure they have on their recorded lines.

      I would give the zero stars except for their **************** Reps who do the best they can do to help their Customers. But it stops there. There's no way to speak to anyone who has authority to make decisions. I am a Beneficiary of my late husband's Annuity Account, and have been trying for nearly 4 months to settle my claim. It takes forever for them to send any/all correspondence via "snail mail"(USPS), and even though on two occasions they gave me (2 different) email addresses whereby I could return my completed Notice of Death Form, they say they never received it until I finally sent it by ***** When they did receive my Form, they sent what they called a "Claims Form" which took another 10 days to get to me. To my further frustration, certain instructions included in their Cover Letter do not correspond with the "Beneficiary Information Form for Annuity Contracts". I called **************** AGAIN, and even she could not make sense of it. I was told that the ** Rep, made a note for someone in Annuity Service Operations, who prepared and forwarded the aforementioned letter with said Form. As of end of business today, no one has called, I would be very surprised if the EVER did! This company's systems are totally "old school" when it comes to communication and correspondence. I would never do business with them again, and certainly do not recommend their services!

      We have waited 15 weeks to receive a transfer of a retirement annuity with Empower to another financial firm and they have not issued a cent. They keep coming up with excuses not to make the transfer. We are filing a complaint with the ******** ************************ and ****** of ******** Protection. We have waited long enough.

      This company is run by clowns. I've been attempting to do a rollover from another account. I followed all steps but there was a statement needed that I was not told to provide. I provided it by uploading to the Empower website but they were not able to access it through their own site... I've called and left voicemails but have not been contacted back. I was sent back my rollover check and now have to try and do the whole process again. The market has gone up 3% in the time I've been trying to do this (over a month). This is literally costing me money. Like, I'm trying to give you money and you're to incompetent to take it. Morons.
