  We had a xeriscape design for our backyard. It specified locations for planting beds, grass, and hardscape. It detailed the number and identity of each plant in each planting bed. It specified a dripline irrigation system. It showed measurements for all sections of the yard and provided lists of plants and materials. We hired ***** to install the design.Problems began immediately and continued until we fired him. Here are some of the highlights of his incompetence. He destroyed a section of the yard that was not supposed to be changed. He was supposed to work compost into the soil as an amendment. Instead, he laid an inch of topsoil down. He installed the wrong plants and could not tell us the names of the plants installed, their sizes when fully grown, or even if they were low water usage (which was the point of the whole installation). He shorted us half the perennials that were supposed to go in one planting bed and got the bed dimensions wrong. We had to point this out to him and finally realized he cant follow a design. His response was that a design isnt reality. He installed the wrong irrigation system and a flagstone pathway that started coming apart two weeks later. He took apart a retaining wall and left the blocks on the grass for two months which killed the grass. These are highlights, not the full extent of his incompetence.We fired him before he could do more damage. We paid him $15,000 during the course of his bungling. He gave us $1,000 back. Now, we have no grass, just bare dirt with weeds growing. We have to hire another company to fix the irrigation system, the flagstone pathway, the retaining wall he left in pieces, and install grass, all of which we paid him to do. It will cost more to repair his mess than the money we paid him to do it right the first time. ***** is a nice guy, but he is an incompetent landscaper. Do not hire Scapes Pro LLC, or its owner ***** ********************************.
