      Was given an Appointment for Jan 25th which I called to cancel but they never canceled it. I continued to cancel it thru the phone app "MyChart" By ****. The app was downloaded to my phone via this businesses text message, therefore, I downloaded it and I also cancelled the appointment via this application.

      The Sleep Disorder Center continued to call me and harass be about getting an appointment to the point where I blocked their number.

      They are billing me for a no show on the appointment for $250.00 when I told them several times I do not want the services now or in the future.

      Dear Sir/Madam: Please note that Mr. ****** was seen by our provider on 12/21/2023 for sleep consultation at the request of his PCP. He needed an overnight sleep study and was given an appointment for the night he chose. He never called to cancel the appointment. We have the office policy of NO SHOW charge of $250 if a pateint does not call and never shows up for the sleep test. Please note the techinicain is scheduled and paid to do the test for the scheduled patients  that night.  This has been very helpful to keep our no show rates to minimum and render proper and timely care to our patients. We certainly want to discourage misuse of our services and resources. We have already adjusted the NO SHOW charge and decided to refer him to other local sleep clinics where Mr. ****** would be happy and satisfied. Our goal has always been total patient satisfection  and provide "State of The Art" to our patients and family members.

      I am rejecting this response because:

       

        I got a text message to either confirm and cancel the appointment.  this text message from the provider had a link to press that brought you to the My Chart application.  In the "my chart application", I canceled the appointment a week before the appointment date.  The initial appointment online I told the lady this was a waste of my time as I do not have a problem sleeping once asleep it is only that I cannot get to sleep to begin with and such a study would be useless.  rather than continue to argue with her, I accepted the appointment and then canceled it in their application as soon as it popped up.  They seem to be orientated and focused on selling the C-PAP devices and not in actually helping anyone or listening to anyone's problems.  They are way to aggressive in making appointments and are argumentative about it.  I choose not to engage it that behavior and want nothing to do with them.

      If they continue to argue the point then perhaps a study need to be looked at in which one might look at the number of sleep studies they have done and what % of those studies have led to C-Pap devices being recommended.  I bet that would be a very high precent as it seemed on the call although I answered every question with a negative response

      do you wake up to urinate during the night?  NO

      Do you have trouble sleeping once asleep?  NO

      Do you wake up dehydrated?  NO

      Do you Snore?  NO

      I am not a candidate but they insisted I accept the appointment - AND I  DID CANCEL IT - even though they refused to accept that.

       

      If they do not pay attention to the app that is not my fault they are the ones that engaged a virtual conversation via a text message that pointed me to that option.
