I brought my ***** camper to lees for a consignment sale. I understood there would be expenses associated with the sale. I paid some fees up front and was told I would pay 20% of the sale price to lees. Okay fair enough. I also understood that a few things would need repairing/replacing. A short time later they told me they had a buyer and a few repairs. When talking to the service department she informed me that it would cost $4,100 for repairs. Now I was under the impression I was selling a used camper. After reviewing the list of supposed repairs needed I realized I was being taken. Numerous items were unnecessary and a a few I knew for a fact were not in need of repair. After going over the list with the GM and service manager we decided that the camper only needed $2,600 in repairs. While not happy with this I felt I was between a rock and a hard place and agreed to lees spending $2,600 for repairs. After the sale and not hearing from them for two weeks I went to lees to collect a check. They withheld 20% in escrow for 30 days and told me that $500 of that had been spent for further repairs. This was for bathroom fan/converter and was on the Orginal list and removed as a result of our agreement. At no time did I authorize further repairs. After 30 days I did not hear from lees so called them only to be told the rest of the escrow and more had been spent on even more repairs. Again I did not authorize any further repairs. I requested invoices and the items that were supposedly repaired. To date I have received some questionable invoices and no broken parts. I require the return of my complete escrow in full.

*****, Signed the consignment agreement out of his free will. He
knew what the terms of the agreement were.
He should have read the agreement.
He never should have signed it if he didn’t agree with the terms.  It was spelled out very clearly in our
agreement that we would be holding back the 15% escrow for 30 days. (See
    attachment with ***** Signatures)

Yes we sell used campers and we try our best to service and do the necessary
maintenance and repairs to what we sell before it goes to the new owner.

It is our service technician’s job to do a thorough inspection and
write up any and all possible items of concern.
This did happen and we did cut back some of the items to save ***** some
    money on pre-sale repairs.

We take pride and want to stand behind our pre-owned RV sales. We
do offer a 30 day warranty to the new buyer to give them peace of mind.  The additional repairs we made were absolutely
necessary to make the RV operational for the new customer.  ***** told Lee’s that he was going away to ******* for a
week or so. During this time of his absence we had to make the necessary
repairs in a timely manner to keep the RV in working order.  Due to global time changes we not able to contact
    ***** in *******
until after the repairs we made and the customer went back home.  The customer had to travel over 3 hours and 20
minutes each way to come back for repairs from **** ******* **.

***** chooses not to believe us or the customer that bought the
camper that the repairs were needed and we are thieves and were just making up
lies.   We gave ***** copies (see
attached) of the bills and parts we needed to use two times and he still did
not want to believe us.   He insisted
that we show him or give him the parts. We took pictures of one of the failed parts
after the RV was purchased (We sent ***** a picture of the carburetor for the
Generator that runs the RV $1,516.31) (see attached photo) and yet ***** still insists
that we are not telling the truth.  And still
wants us pay him for his RV that broke within the 30 days escrow window.

Fact of the matter is we spent an additional $857.32 of our money
from “good will fund” to get the RV back into the new owner’s hands for his
    enjoyment.

We’re not asking ***** for any of this money since it’s not part of
    the agreement.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I have requested they provide the supposed broken parts. I don’t believe them because on there original list they claimed the satellite dome was cracked. I knew for a fact that it was not as I had been on top of the camper and looked at it just three weeks earlier. The bathroom fan was on the original list and was one of the items we all agreed did not need to be replaced. The jack motor was replaced with all four jacks just the season before, it is not my responsibility if someone at lees over extended it. The generator was working just fine 2 weeks prior. At times in needed to be topped with oil due to the low oil switch. They could have contacted me any time I was in ******* just as I contacted them while I was in *******. And that is a perfect example of why I do not believe them. To say the could not contact me is an outright lie!
In reviewing their response to the many other complaints on yelp and other places filed against Lee’s one thing stands out. Brian never excepts responsibility.

    Sincerely,

    ***** ******

We can respect ***** response, however we have
supplied ***** with pictures of the failed parts that we still have.  If he wants to come and see them in person he
is welcome to come to the dealership. It is our service technicians job to
point out any possible failures and or parts the show evidence of
degradation.  The Satellite Dome had been
crushed inward by an external object and someone had pushed the dome from the
inside back into its original position giving the appearance of the dome being
compromised.  Our technician’s job is to
document any type of potential liability. After further inspection of it with
***** we deemed that the Dome would need just a little flex seal just to make
sure there would be no degradation or possibility of a leak.  It was not a false claim it was a potential
liability that our professional trained staff noted for us.  The bathroom fan was on the original list –
we tried to lubricate it so it would work, which it did work when we originally
delivered it but it continued to work only occasionally for the new buyer so we
    fixed it.
As for the Jack motors being replaced the year
before we don’t know about that all we know is that when they were changed out when
they drilled the new jacks onto the camper there was excess wiring harness for
the jack that they stuffed into the hole and when they screwed the jacks on
they ran the screw through the wire harness for the jack creating a short in
the motor occasionally when the new customer took the unit it stopped
working.  Instead of the customer waiting
at our dealership for 3 days for the new motor we told him to go home and we
will ship the new motor to him and he was willing to change it himself.
The generator did start and did run however as
soon as you put a load on the generator with the air conditioner it would
stall.  Upon further diagnoses the carburetor
had to be replaced.  The fact is Lee’s
made the decision to fix the RV in a timely manner and get the broken down
customer back on the road.  It is a 6
    hour variance between USA
    and *******
and it would have been very late at night to call *****. Lee’s did make the
decision to fix the RV and we believe it was the right decision.   While Lee’s is not claiming to be perfect we
do strive to do the right thing for our customers.   We also expect our consignee’s to accept
their responsibility’s as well.     Lee's Management

I am rejecting this response because:
Here he is with a complete lie, at no point did they send me pictures, at no point did they try to contact me. They started out telling me they would sell the camper for $26,550 minus 20%. From there they started taking more and more off the amount I would get until they even took my escrow. Leaving me with less than half that. Their advert on their phone system says they are the home of good family values, my experience, my assorted neighbors experiences , and the yelp reviews say otherwise. All that I want is the $2,295 escrow money I am owed.

    Sincerely,

We have helped the ********** with many of there service requests. - They purchased the camper on 3/19/22  Lee's has completed the following repairs to their camper since.

Lee's was not notified by the customer of the issues with new slide seal - or the carpet under couch - We did generator service on 10/26/22 changed the oil and filter. on 5/19/23 customer stated she ran the generator at home and it ran. Customer stated it started faulting - customer would not provide secondary code on the **** generator to help guide with diagnostics although she was given instructions on how to obtain secondary code. Customer insisted she wanted a new $10,000 generator as a curtesy we called *******, Extended warranty and spoke with David and he verified they have coverage on their generator however they only cover tear down if a warrantied part failed. They do not cover generator replacement....The ramp door handle was never an issue in any of the emails or repair order history - The ramp door was spongy which is normal and their insurance company declined it. We replaced (1) D-seal on the slide-out have not heard from the customer since 5/22/23 at 10:04am.  Repairs we have done for them out of warranty or goodwill.  Awning Lights broke - replaced 10/26/22, Slide out seal replaced 2/19/23, leveling system replaced 2/19/23. check refer fridge 2/19/23, replaced couch 2/1/23, replaced J-wrap 10/26/22, serviced Generator 10/26/22.

We have been more than accommodating in helping with service and repairs. If Mrs. ******** thinks we are hacks they are free to bring their camper to any other RV service facility

If we made the RV worse than when they brought it to us for repair then why would they have taken the unit back home or gone camping until they accepted our repairs?

They don't like how we fix the RV and say we are hacks then they need to hire another RV service facility to work on their RV.  Lee' has done so much goodwill trying to accommodate this customer.

We did offer to the customer to replace all of the full slide seals with factory Grand Design OEM parts but the customer declined to pay for the balance of what the warranty company would not cover.  This decision could have possible contributed to the leak that got the carpet wet.  Servicing the generator is an oil change and filter - there is obviously more that needs to be done and or corrected of which we have tried to get them to trouble shoot which she did not do even after we told them what to do?  The current generator can be repaired and Lee's nor the ******* Warranty will give a customer a new generator of the existing one can be fixed.
