      Worst customer service of any company I have worked with. On phone 3 hours, talked to 9 representatives…2 in billing, 4 In customer service, 3 in repair service. Two supervisors were asked to call me back, no one has in 24 hours. This company has employees working from home, they cannot answer questions that are not visible on their computer screen, if they want a supervisor to assist them, they have to “email” a supervisor and wait (like me for a call back). This company has multiple contracts and plans with various options for customers and no one can answer specific questions about coverage. Nor do they care, they just transfer you to another person. And “ Charlie” the robot is worthless in getting you help. I have had this service plan for over 25+ years, when Home Serve took over ….its been two years of poor, poor poor service. I would not recommend Home Serve to any family or friends…..I am going to cancel my policy.

      I took out several of their plans about 56 years ago because they offer what you really need for your home. I have to say they have been there every step of the way. I had to have major plumbing done in my yard and they covered the entire cost. I now have about 6 plans with them and believe in them wholeheartedly. There is never a service call for any of the plans. Give them a try you won’t be disappointed!!!

      We had a plan for every item or system that coverage was offered on for our home for about six years.
      They sent technicians out three times over a hot water heater issue which they could not determine the root cause of…I ended up had repairing it myself.
      Our cooling system was leaking Freon….They sent technicians out to years in a row to recharge the unit with R-22 without addressing the leak issue.
      Then on the third year, they condemned the cooling coil and condenser and told us we would have to pay the total cost for a replacement.
      After reviewing the estimate from their contractor, I cancelled all HomeServe coverage and got a better contractor offering a better quality replacement unit at a much better price.
      HomeServe is a very low quality product and should not be offered by local utilities companies as a viable or reliable convenient add-on to their monthly utility bill.

      My wife and I have been using "Home Serve" for over a decade, and we absolutely love their service.
      Their customer service is excellent as well as the companies that service the needs that we've encountered.
      So far we've used plumbing, heating & air conditioner, and electrical.
      The stress of any situation, whether it is a clogged sink, toilet, or air conditioning system that broke on the hottest day of the year, they were such a blessing in relieving the stress.

      Wednesday: We experienced gas leak, gas company shut off gas and we were reminded of our HomeServe plan through gas company. Called HomeServe and they said “We’ll be able to get a technician out tonight just stay by your phone as they’ll call when on way” I said “It’s 10pm here and someone will come tonight?” And she said “yep!” So I waited… till 3am and no one called.
      Thursday: called first thing in the morning and they had no record of me calling the previous night. Retook my info and ensured me someone would reach out today to get our gas line in basement fixed. Multiple phone calls later, and no one came out. I finally reached out to a company that works with HomeServe and was told that the contractor would be out tomorrow, they would do an assessment and would need to call HomeServe to approve the cost of service and I would need to authorize work, and we’d be set.
      Friday: Contractor comes out, says it’ll be $784 to repair. I call home serve and this time I’m told “The contractor needs to email over the cost and we’ll approve or deny within 24 hours. If we approve, the payments would be sent to contractor then work could start then, so it could be a few more days” I explain that was not explained and asked if I could pay out of pocket and get reimbursed and HomeServe rep said “No that’s not how this works.” Living without gas means no showers, no oven/stove top. I can’t do that for “a few more days”.
      So, after giving me multiple different answers, constant run arounds, I ended up paying out of pocket and cancelled and requested a refund from HomeServe for the months of service I paid for and they said “Nope, can’t do that” So not only am I out the cost of what this service claimed they’d help coordinate AND cover, they won’t even give me a refund for the months I paid for this ‘service’ despite them no upholding their side of things. It was literally the worst experience with a company I’ve ever had. Do not recommend. They just want your $. Profit > People.

      When I first started with Home Serve they were great. Lately, anytime I call it takes me days to get help
      I am out of water now, due to a broken pipe, and I was told today, it will be Monday before I can get anyone out. I had a plumber out last night, but he didn't fix it, so I have to wait until Monday. Service has been very bad in the past months. I am correctly looking for a new company to serve us

      I signed up for sewer line warranty with Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA) early in August of 2022 thru a "promotion" by the **** ** *******  The "Acceptance Form" I completed and signed indicates an annual fee of $75.96, and stipulates an auto-renewal requirement. I sent a check to SWLA in that amount on 7/27/2022 to initiate the coverage. On August 7, 2023, I noticed an automatic charge to my bank to "Homeserve, USA" for $99.96. When I phoned SLWA (phone number not allowed by the BBB system!!!) I was told that the "contract" I signed allowed for an increase in annual rates. I have read and re-read the "Acceptance Form" that I initially signed, and I do NOT see any statement about an option for the company to increase the rate. In fact, from that Form is the following: "...on the same payment terms I selected at the then-current renewal price..." I selected a box indicating $75.96 which stated that it was an "annual" charge. To me, this means that the recurring annual renewal charge will be what I paid initially, that is, $75.96. If I am mistaken, then, at the very least, this is intentionally misleading verbiage, obviously designed to trick those unfamiliar with ambiguous and deceptive legalese.
