On August 20, 2019, after
receiving a Scam Tracker report from a consumer
located outside of North America, Better Business Bureau Serving
Connecticut (BBB) opened an investigation into the business practices of Eagle
Bulk Shipping Inc. Specifically, BBB researched claims of the business contacting consumers regarding their work visa and
implying the matter was urgent and then instead offering employment with a
large benefit package and salary. In BBB’s
experience, these types of practices have been linked to illegitimate
activities. As a result of the
investigation, BBB has determined that the Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. name and
address have been compromised and are being used by unauthorized individuals possibly
in an attempt to access to bank information and/or for identity theft purposes.
BBB contacted the Human Resources Department of Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc., who
verified that the email and phone numbers used by the unauthorized
individuals are not associated with the legitimate business. Eagle Bulk
Shipping Inc. is not associated with telephone
number 301-678-4685, fax number 412-756-3782, or the emails [email protected] and [email protected].
