On April 1st, 2025, my husband and I hired Roger -LR Flooring & Cleaning LLC. to refinish and replace some damaged wood on our floors. He came to the house on April 15- 17 to do the job. Everything seemed to go smoothly. We paid him the establishment of $2265. through ***** with a $135. tip-$2400. But now, after 2 weeks, the floor is buckling in the area where he replaced some pieces. I texted and sent him pictures of the issue, and he said he would come and look at it. He never showed up, and now he has ghosted me. My floor needs to be fixed, or there needs to be a refund for the damage.

Contract signed with LR Flooring LLC on 7/23/2024.

We paid Roger S**** (owner of LR Flooring LLC) $9025 total (via ***** and *****).

LR flooring LLC was hired to install ~1100-1200 sq. ft. of 4” wide white oak select hardwood flooring in our new home, including removal and disposal of the old flooring, grinding of concrete, applying a moisture barrier, sanding and finishing the floors with one coat of sealer and three coats of water based polyurethane, and installing new shoe molding.

Hardwood was installed without any acclimation, glued down to the concrete poorly, installed with no room for expansion, and it began cupping within about one week of installation. The material is unsalvageable and must be completely torn out and replaced. It is currently a safety hazard for one year-old son.

The installation was unprofessional and unacceptable. The floors are cupping, walls are cracking from outward pressure applied by the expansion of the floors, no physical moisture barrier was installed, the concrete beneath the floors was not cleaned, the gluing was not sufficient, the pressure of the floors is causing damage to our baseboards (peeling off the wall)/doorways/walls/doors, there are holes in the floor where buckling up is extreme, boards are cracking, boards are coming apart and up from the floor, etc.

On 8/22/2024, we sent Roger photos of the problems and set up an appointment for him to come see the issues. He did not show up to that meeting and will no longer respond to any contact from us. We also asked about license and insurance and received no response.

We did not know at the time we hired LR flooring LLC, but Roger S**** is unlicensed now. He used to be a registered HIC, but his license expired on 11/30/2015 (***********). Also, his business “LR flooring LLC” is dissolved as of 3/26/2022 (Business ALEI: – **************).

Roger S**** is currently still doing business in ********* according to other flooring contractors who asked around about him.
