    I have conflicting views about CleanChoice. They are a Certified B Corp, which makes it all the more surprising (and disappointing) that they engage in predatory marketing behaviors. They constantly send mailing with "Important Notice" or "Action Requested" in bright red on the envelope, leading recipients to believe that they are in trouble and must act. Additionally, I have experienced first hand that their mail promotions are significantly worse, and more misleading, than their online offers. While their mail offers have attractive pricing, only in the fine print do you find that it is at a variable rate. Online you find cheaper, fixed rate offers. It is disappointing to find a company that has a strong mission and that could provide great benefit to communities they are in engages in such predatory, misleading marketing. I was a customer and had no issues while a customer, but ultimately left for a cheaper, municipal-offered aggregate renewable energy plan. Since leaving, I have begun to receive the predatory mailings again. I expect better from a B Corp.

    i renewed my next 12 month fixed rate service with Clean energy, am aware it went from 18.7 cents to 22.1 cent per kwh starting today, but compared with other plans in my area , who all had a hike this season/year. I can cancel any time if I chose and if rates drop could set up a new plan.
    The Customer service lady was so pleasant , helpful ,attentive and engaging it was a pleasure for both of us I believe. My only mistake was not to write her name down with my confirmation Code. I would consider to send a message to the CEO or supervisor, recommending a " Gold star " for service & attention and listening skills!
    I was very happy and got info how to refer neighbors/ friends via internet account. thank you!

While our retail fixed rates can lock price for a period of time, you are always able to change the contract at any time with no cancellation fee.     I'm relieved and disappointed to see I'm far from the only one who's been mislead by this company. I live in Columbia, Maryland where for years my monthly energy bill has been $150 at its highest. My bills since starting Clean Choice? $360, then $560. Canceled today. I had reps knocking on my door daily for a week - I mistakenly gave them the time of day, my only question being "Will my bill increase?" I was reassured that, if anything, it will decrease. I suppose I'm the fool. This company deserves the worst. To operate dishonestly under the guise of a noble cause is shameful.

    I’m not going to rate yet to insure I’m not being scammed as well. I’ve been with them going on 3 months and have seen significant savings on my BGE bill but I’m part of the solar community as well. I will be back here if my numbers start to change but so far so good.

    I just received my first bill referencing cleanchoice energy. The bill is double than what I normally pay. I was filled with anxiety as I am already struggling meeting my monthly bills. Many people are struggling today and it's really sad that this company is allowed to do this. When I signed up in Sept, I was told that this was just switching to clean energy vs. dirty energy and better for the environment and that my monthly payment should not be that different. I contacted them and spoke to various individuals. Canceled as of 12/16/22 and was told that it could take up to 3 billing cycles to have them removed Confirmation #00452184. The rep tried to convince me to stay on for 12 month locked in rate and could only send me $60 reimbursement if I did. I contacted my utility company and they confirmed it should only take 1 month for electricity and they are always blaming the utility companies. They most likely delay the process. It was supposed to be a 3 month low rate (24.4 lol). I signed up in Sept and now receiving my first bill in Dec referencing these scammers. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told it would take 24 to 48 hours for them to call me. I was definitely deceived and this is a scam. My utility company advised me that I should file a complaint with the New Jersey Board of Utilities, which I am in the process of doing. I feel horribly taken advantage of and the only way to make them stop doing this to many more people is to file a formal complaint. Take your anger and use it to put a stop to this. It should be illegal for any company to do this. Their reps sound like robots reading scripts on how to respond to complaints. Elizabeth K and any other 5 star reviews probably work for CleanChoice Energy and were paid to give these great one sentence reviews. I want these scammers off my utility bill and will be contacting both CleanChoice and my utility company periodically until its done. Not waiting 3 months. File the complaint!

    I received an email from this company phishing for people needing help with their utilities and To help the environment. Under false pretenses, because of aggressive and misleading ads, I signed this contract. I didn’t understand that this was a contract for 20-25 years and they are asking for $250 early termination fee until someone else explained it to me.
    They are also switching my utility co. They do little by little, hooking you in making promises of smaller bills.
    ****What is this about - they have to have a scammers reason to say I have bad credit. My credit rating is over 800 - They said I had bad credit, which I do not, and noticed other people commented the same in BBB reviews. They are Constantly emailing me ads. I feel manipulated and misled, also using a bait and switch with $250.00 rebate, which to date, I have not received.
    We have given notice verbal and written today. Confirmation #xxxxxxxx
    We believe, since the contract was not accepted until 12/9/22 - & we have 7 days from withdrawal, they should release me from this contract without a fee, but the changed the date to 11/30/22 after requesting the withdrawal.
    I spoke to customer service and they were rude and dismissive after they stated the contract date was 12/9/22 and I let them know I had 7 days to cancel. They changed the date to 11/30/22 which is over the 7 days.
    These people are preying on Mlnnesotins.

    Hello, a supervisor from our team is going to reach out to you directly to review your experience; however, we do want to address a few of the points in your review. We do send marketing emails, so that customers in your email know they have the option to enroll in Community Solar with CleanChoice Energy. Our Communtiy Solar customers not only help the environment and the support renewable energy, but they also receive savings on their monthly utility bills in the form of credits based on how much solar energy generated for their portion of the solar farm.

    Customers are able to cancel their contracts without penalty by giving us 90 days notice. We are sorry to hear that you felt misled and that you received incorrect information regarding your credit score. We are looking into this! We hope to be able to share the benefits of our Community Solar program with you or work with you regarding the cancellation timeline.

    Has to be a scam. Guy walks up to my door made a bunch of promises about no fees and its simply a 10% credit each month. On my first bill my electricity cost almost doubled even though I was using less electricity. I received a random bill from them this month for $100.
    Do not fall for the trap I did. When I asked salesman about issues he tried to change subject by showing me pictures of his family. Stay away from this company.

Our records indicate that across your first two bills to date you've received $12.67 in savings by being a community solar customer. If you feel that this is incorrect, our team can work with you and your utility to review your bills and resolve any concerns that you might have.

    By subscribing to a Community Solar farm, customers receive credits on their utility bill for their “share” of the electricity produced by the Community Solar farm. The community solar billing process requires two bills, one from the utility company and one from CleanChoice Energy. Bill credits from the subscription are applied to and reduce the amount of the utility bill, while CleanChoice separately invoices for the community solar subscription.

    You just need to let people know that they will pay substantially more for their electricity each month but that it is clean energy. Yes I have received $12 in credits, but I've paid you over $120 along with my regular bill from BGE. Don't be like your salesman Aaron who would text me pictures of his family and friends every time I would try to ask him about the service. Ultimately its my fault I fell for his games.

    I was charged 4X the normal kilowatt per hour rate resulting in over $4000.00 in extra utility charges over a 15 month period.
    I signed up for the misleading promotional program, because i thought I was helping the environment, there was no mention of additional cost. This is a total scam.

    Would give zero starts. This company robs senior citizens. Consistently charging .37 cents per kwh to people on fixed incomes.
    Disgusting. Customer service is not helpful.
    Do not recommend.
