I am sorry to hear that your experience with our company has not been a positive one, as this is never the experience we wish for you to have. We pride ourselves in being able to provide 100% pollution free energy to our customers in the effort to combat climate change.
    Reviewing your account, I do see you have been in contact with our Customer Care Team and we requested cancellation on 10/20/22, as requested. In addition, we have waived the Early Termination Fee on your account as well as the balance of $9.96 from your last invoice which issued on 11/14/22. This should conclude all future invoices from issuing, as the account is now at a $0 balance.

    This is now my second complaint about Clean Choice Energy. The company insists on charging me a $200 cancellation fee after I was forced to cancel due to their incredibly poor billing practices.
    The long story short is, I received a bill for an 'UNDERBILLED' amount. When asked, I was told, 'We underbilled you for months x, y and z'. Seriously, why should anyone be forced to pay for something like this or accept it as a reasonable way to sustain a business relationship?
    These are their mistakes and I'm reporting them because their cancellation terms or ludicrous (canceling within 20 years). If THEIR business practices are the reason I'm being forced to cancel, then it's on them to sustain the loss of my business.
    I want this cancelation fee waived, immediately and I want them stop sending me emails about how to sign up for their lousy service!
    Also, to those who are dealing with this company, check your bills for: 'Billing Error'. This is where they'll add 'underbilled' amounts, though you'll have to ask their billing team, 'Why?'

    My bills have recently been outrageous. I'm in the DC area. I'm reading recent reviews and sounds like I'm not the only one. My Pepco bills were typically so low - but my last bills have been 125 - 150 dollars a month for a 1.5 bedroom condo! Not even 700 sq feet. Yes, I used my window air conditioner units, but that's the highest I've ever paid! I'm also not sure how to contact Clean Choice directly, since my bill has Pepco's number, but not Clean Energy's. I'm trying to hang in there but they don't make it easy.

    I signed up earlier today but after thinking that everything sounded too good to be true and starting searching and found these reviews. After seeing all these negative reviews I’m sending in my cancellation tonight.

    I talked with a representative of this company and asked for additional information to be sent to me. He took my information and said that he was signing me up for additional information and that once the document was sent to me I didn't have to sign up if I didn't want to. The document arrived in my email two days later (today) and it was an Enrollment contract that he used my signature on. I immediately signed the notice of cancellation page and sent it back as I was within the seven days. I will leave another review - among other things - based on if they cancel it. In my opinion they lied and are attempting to fraud people. They also put a BGE account number on the document that I have no legal authorization to make changes to. I don't know how they got that number and associated it with me. I even told the representative that I didn't have any energy bills in my name or under my authorization.

    This company engages in the practices of price gouging. When everyone worries about increasing cost of energy, groceries, etc., during the past several months, Clean Choice Energy stealthily raised their pricing to $50 per kWh while other companies (like Con Edison) was at $12 per kWh. While I am willing to spend a little more for the sake of limiting gas emissions and climate change, 4-5x price increase is difficult to take. When confronted, the company offered 2 months worth of refund ( to $10/kWh) out of the more than 12 months
    of over billing, and that refund check will be sent to me after signing a form to waive any other future claims or complaint.

As a supplier of 100% clean renewable wind and solar energy, we never claim to be the lowest cost provider, as is disclosed on the mail in application you submitted. We have high standards for our energy sources and do not participate in the use of dirty fossil fuels, as many suppliers do. Instead we pride ourselves in being able to provide 100% pollution free energy to our customers in the effort to combat climate change.

    Reviewing the account, I do see you have been in contact with our Customer Care Team and we have confirmed a cancellation date of 10/12/22, as requested. This will serve as the drop date from CleanChoice Energy. Your account had been on a variable rate (as stated in your contract), but we still wanted to make every effort to offer the best customer experience. Our management has tried to get in contact you with you several times in regards to a 3 month bill credit in an extra effort to resolve your dispute, but to date this offer has been denied and calls unreturned.

    Be aware that when you sign up for this company's service, you may be entering a 20 year contract; it's in the contract, but it's not discussed.
    The penalty for cancellation is $200 and it takes a few months to cycle out. I was recently zapped with a bill for a 'billing error' on their part; apparently, this happened to a lot of customers in October.
    When I called, there was no real explanation other than, "Sorry, we under-billed you. It doesn't happen often."
    Doesn't happen often? Really?
    My average bill in the summer months is roughly $130 - $175. The month this happened I was billed $135, which I paid. They then came back 2 months later and claimed to have under-billed me ($183), which brings the total for August to roughly $318.
    I'm not a billing expert, but I don't think you can retroactively bill someone for YOUR mistake; regardless, this is a considerably high price for a month that should have been in the $130 -$175 range, which I paid. I've saved all of my billing statements and will not pay this overage.
    Signing up for ClearChoice Energy was a mistake and should be looked into.

    THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. I SIGNED UP FOR THE SOLAR AND ELECTRIC AND MY BILL WENT WAY UP. They tricked me into signing up for solar by promising me a 250 visa gift card if I signed up. The customer service woman keeps telling me she's not sure how to sign me up and was on with supervisor and made me re sign up and she advised that I will now get visa card sent electronically and I was all signed.. yesterday I got my bill from bge and it was the highest bill I ever had. So when I seen that I sent email to the person I was talking to (Kathy J******)at clean choice she sent me a message back saying I had to sign up again there was a problem. I want all my services canceled and I have proof of the 250 offer all emails clearly showing this woman lieing over and over. I also have proof my bill went way up. I have asked over and over to speak to her manager which she also won't let me do

    We can assure you that CleanChoice Energy is not a scam. Your electric account has been charged the rate that you agreed to upon enrollment, and we can confirm that your clean electricity plan with us has since been canceled.

    I signed up for Clean Choice in hopes of saving money but that was not the situation. I was told that I didn’t qualify because I was already on a budget plan with my electric company but they charged me over $300 anyways, double what my electric bill was. I called to speak to them and got nowhere. I would not recommend them

    I received a letter disguised as a past due bill with “Second Attempt” stamped in red. It was an advertisement for Clean Choice Energy. I don’t do business with companies that use deceptive practices to sell things but I looked into their offer since I recently switched to solar through Arcadia Community Solar, which I am so far very happy with. On the back of the Clean Choice Energy sign up form, not only do they show their rates are more than double what I’m paying, but they also inform you that the insanely high rate is only a 3 month introductory offer and rates can go up after the 3rd month with no notice whatsoever. My favorite part is the reason they give includes a number of factors which includes Clean Choice Energy’s “margins” which is another term for profits. In other words, after 3 months of paying double what other renewable energy companies charge, you will likely see the price go up more because Clean Energy wants to make even more money off you. With so many shady and usurious tactics I wouldn’t touch this scam company with a ten foot pole.
