    My rates with cleanchoice Energy was 400% higher than National Grid. The offered to lower it to $0.102 from $0.43/KwH. Why did they not inform me that I was being ripped off? Because this is pure Green Washing by appealing to our feelings about cleaning up the earth but then robbing us blind! In the past 3 years, I've calculated that I gave them more than $21,000 over what the Grid would've charged me to heat this large building. I'm livid! They need to be regulated by the government!!

I am sorry to hear that your experience with our company has not been a positive one, as this is never the experience we wish for you to have. Our records indicate you signed up in October 2021 on a variable rate program, as outlined in your terms and conditions. The rate per kWh is based on the market. We offer a variety of plans, both variable and fixed, to meet the different needs of our customers. While sometimes variable plans can offer a lower rate (which customers love), they do run the risk of rising as well. We receive new rate plans every month and are always more than happy to review them with our customers at any time. If you would like to receive an additional copy of your contract, we are happy to provide this for your convenience. Reviewing your account, we show that it has been cancelled as requested and have confirmed a cancellation date of 7/17/23. This will serve as the drop date from CleanChoice Energy.     This is a scam company to lure customers with clean energy tactics but who knows how they generate electricity. But yet their rate ($0.30-0.45) is double to triple than the market rate ($0.14-0.15). It is so ridiculous and on top of that they deduct your cumulated kWh if you have net metering with Solar Panel system. So they essentially charged you doubled at triple rate. I urge everyone see my post to leave them immediately.

    There is no advantage at all, this is a bad bad company. I'm a victim who supports green energy, they are using that to cheat someone like me.

    I was a legacy customer with CleanChoice Energy (from 2014 formerly Sun Share) until I changed addresses in September 2022. I completed paperwork in September and December of 2022 to change the service. I have spoken with their Customer Service people 5 times after that and I am always told that a supervisor will call, which never happens. This is the poorest service company I have ever seen. I am only giving them one star because there is nothing lower. Stay away from these people - they're not interested in maintaining existing or possibly having new customers. They have been a true disappointment to us - even having been with them for seven plus years!

    My complaint is that clean choice was not authorized to be supplier of my electricity to my home ! When I call them about situation I had Ask the question at hand if their was a written signature the response no! The second question was there any verbal request on my behalf to the contract he stated no! And I said well how did obtain the information he stated their was a E mail I said my family doesn’t have you folk in my email address, so how did this happen he stated that oh no it wasn’t email replied It was a web site communication Oh really then ask another question that was who has the chain of command for authorization he simply said it was a website how fitting response he had that’s is where my family and I spent thousands dollars extra without our consent form sign and their no record of any corresponded acount# MR Dave

    I had CleanChoice for years in Washington, DC. I switched in June to another supplier.

    I thought everything had gone smoothly - my Pepco bill reflected the changeover in suppliers.
    However, today I received two letters in the mail, one from Pepco and one from CleanChoice, stating that I had switched back to CleanChoice effective immediately!

    I called CleanChoice and tried to get an answer as to how this had happened. What I got was a runaround and finally a cancellation from CleanChoice. They said the request to resume service with them came by mail. I told them that I never submitted anything to them by phone, by mail, email, by text or by anything. I had received several requests to resume my service with them in the period after I changed suppliers.

    I intend to have the DC Public Service Commission and the Peoples Counsel address this matter.
    I don't know if this was fraud, but no other explanation seems plausible. I am going to demand to see the written communication that they claim reinstated CleanChoice as my energy supplier.

    This is a serious mistake or violation of the law.

    The worst experience ever. I have switched to CleanChoice to be "greener" like many others and as a result, have had bills that ranged from $500-800 over regular ConEd bill. While I believe in supporting the environment, the lack of transparency on the rates CleanChoice is charging (they hook you with a promotional rate, then go into a variable rate, which in my case was 3x the rate that ConEd offers) is completely outrageous!

    The bill does not provide any transparency of this practice and it takes a lot of time and follow-up to understand what is causing bills over $1,800 for one month in my case! When I finally cancelled my subscription (with a current bill of $1,500), I then got another bill for $1,800 because I didn't make the cut to cancel before the next billing period.

    I have called CleanChoice and I'm apalled with their customer service - how is it ever ok to charge on rate that is 2.3x the current rate of the national grid??? Where is the disclosure to show current comparison?? Where is the clarity on their billing practices. This is outrageous practices and I would hope that an investigation is made on their billing/rate practice.

    I agree with James. My bill has doubled since Dec 2022. Clean Choice is currently charging 39 cents/kWh while National Grid only charges 7 cents/kWh. A total rip off, even factoring in inflation.
