Terrible Terrible Terrible they need to be shut down. What a racket they got going there.
Do not take your pet there. They take your fur baby and go inside and wont let you in the place. Come out side like your at a drive Inn quoting outragious prices for this test and that Xray while your dog is put out of your site and dying. They take advantage of your variability and soak you for every penny they can telling you they need this test when in fact your first baby was going to pass anyway.
    What a expensive nightmare!!!!!

My girlfriend took a puppy that we just bought to Delmarva Animal Emergency Center on Lebanon Rd in Dover, Del.

They were charging her $283.00 to test the puppy for parvo. I called myself and asked a young lady why it’s so much? She said that they had to do an exam as well. I told her that I did not want the exam done, only a test for parvo. I asked to speak with whomever had the puppy and she tried to tell me that she would call me back. I told her that I would hold. The vet came on the phone telling me about blood work and other things that were NEVER asked for. He told me that they would have to keep the puppy for 3-5 days if if was infected and that it would cost thousands of dollars for the treatment. I told him that we never asked for the extra services. He cut me short and told me that $485.00. I told him that the young lady that I spoke with gave me a quote of $283.00. WE ONLY WANTED A PARVO TEST!!! He informed me that it was too late. The card had already been charged and that he didn’t believe that anyone quoted a price of $283.00 to me. The call ended. I called back to try and speak to the young lady that quoted me the price and (sounding just like the young lady that quoted me the price) a young lady told me that she wasn’t her and there were a lot of young women in the bldg. I asked her for the vet and young lady’s name, so I could file a complaint, and she refused to provide either. She told me that I could come in on Monday morning when her supervisor came in. (It’s Thursday).

The staff there will take your animal, not let you inside, do whatever tests that they want then refuse to give you your pet back until you pay for services that you never asked for. How is this legal? My girlfriend agreed to what she thought was an exam and Parvo test.

THEY ONLY GAVE US A RECEIPT SAYING WHAT THEY WERE CHARGING US FOR. NO PAPERWORK OR PROOF OF WHAT THE BLOOD TEST, PARVO TEST, OR ANY OTHER TEST OR SERVICE RESULTS WERE. I WILL BE FILING A FORMAL COMPLAINT.
