    Approximately two years ago I purchased kitchen appliances from Millman's appliance store in Lewes, Delaware, because they advertised a 10 year warranty on appliances and when I went in to purchase I was again told the appliances come with a 10 year warranty. Yesterday I received a call from Justin, who said he worked for Millman's and wanted to let me know that the manufacturer's warranty on the appliances I purchased had expired. He said the manufacturer was willing to extend the warranty for 3 to 5 years and in addition he could give me a discounted price of 20% off the warranty The three year cost with the discount would be $879.95 and the discounted 5 year warranty would cost $1,327.95. I said I did not need an additional warranty because I have a 10 year warranty with Millman's. He said everyone he has been calling keeps mentioning the 10 year warranty so he believes we received confusing information.
    I have the receipts for the items I purchased--a Bosch refrigerator ($3,599.99), LG combination wall oven and microwave ($2,554.99) , Bosch 500 series gas cooktop($1,049.99)
    and a Zephr stainless hood ($609.98) On the receipts it says the following :

    10 year warranty. This is not a manufacturer's warranty --this is a third party major component warranty. This 10 year warranty is a major component warranty and covers specified parts. Replacement labor is excluded. The only exception is when the manufacturer has a factory ten year major component warranty then ours covers labor.

    I dealt with **** when ordering the items and ******* to schedule delivery.

    Good Evening BBB,

     

    I have reviewed the complaint and am fully prepared to respond with the results of my investigation. The customer was NOT contacted by Millmans Appliances we DO NOT have a ****** that even works for our company. The customer even stated in her post that she got our 10 year major component warranty which is good only for the major part of the appliance. For example if it’s a refrigerator Millmans will cover the compressor part only for 10 years. The customer is offered a exclusive chance to extend coverage on the appliances she purchased to make the manufacturer warranty extended and covered bumper to bumper for what the warranty company has offered. We will always honor and stand behind our appliances, warranties and customer but it’s very clear that the 10 year is a part only for 10 years.

    I ordered a new dish washer from Millman's Appliances. I told the staff that there was water still inside the old one . When the new one was installed on 10/25 I again told the staff about the water. When he carried the old dish washer out a hose was loose and it sprayed liquid over the carpet from the kitchen across the living room to the front door. At the time I thought it was just water. The next morning I found yellow stains all over the carpet. I arranged to have the carpet professionally cleaned. On 11/1/2023 when the carpet cleaners arrived they carefully inspected the stains and informed me that the fibers of the carpet had been bleached down to the backing. They reported that no stain remover would correct the problem and they recommended that the carpet be replaced. I immediately called Millman's and reported this. I called again on 11/7 and 11/9. No one returned my calls. On 11/ 15/2023 I sent a certified letter with return receipt to Millman's. The receipt was signed on 11/17/2023. A few days larer I received a phone and was informed that someone (I don't recall the name) would be contacting me to look at the damage. No one has contacted me. I obtained an estimate on replacing the carpet. That estimate is $3135.00.

    On June 1, 2022 I placed an order with Millman’s for an oven microwave combo
    ( invoice #. 5424309 ) This appliance was paid in full for the amount of $3438.89
    Check # 2994 with an estimated 2 week delivery.
    July 5, 2022 I received a voicemail pushing my delivery date back to mid August.
    I began searching for a similar appliance and spoke with ****. **** mentioned the delay was due to production issues and this model was no longer available. I asked for a refund and was offered a different model for an additional $590. I reluctantly agreed.
    August 19, 2022 I received a voicemail from Vicki stating that she would follow up with Patrick with additional delivery information. August 29, 2022 I received a phone call from **** stating that the oven was in the warehouse and we needed to set up a delivery date.
    The next day I found out this oven had been promised to another customer.
    My last verbal communication from anyone at Millman’s was the end of October with estimated delivery date of December 29, 2022. December 20, 2022 I received an email
    from Rebecca that I would receive a call to arrange for delivery . I still have not heard anything.
    There has been a lot of miscommunication and inaccurate details on the Millman’s behalf concerning this transaction. Millman’s has had 8 months to resolve this issue.
    There is no resolution in sight at this time, and I am requesting a full refund.

    Good Evening, The consumer created a lot of the delays by attempting different model changes, configurations etc. Everytime a consumer changes models we have to recreate an order and the customer is standing in the back of the line each time this happens. When customer was contacted for arranged delivery she stated she wanted to cancel the order. Which once again caused delays in the process. The consumer then was told about no cancellations when she decided to create an Attorney General complaint. Millman’s has tried to assist in resolution each time the consumer made a change or stated anything about Home Depot. We are not cancelling the consumers order and not able per our distribution channel due to the excessive changes from the consumer. We will arrange delivery with consumer within the next 10 days of the product with guarantee from the consumer of no more confusion of changing models, configurations etc.

    The response given by the business is inaccurate and false. The order was originally changed because that model was no longer available. We agreed to a different model and months had passed without any correspondence. What model will be provided?  When will it be delivered?

    In March 2021 we ordered 4 appliances from Millmans, we were given a delivery date for our appliances in December 2021. 3 appliances were delivered on that date, including the wrong refrigerator. The delivery driver would not take it back, said to use it until the correct refrigerator came in, the person I spoke with in customer service also said to use it until the correct one came in. I was also told the incorrect refrigerator had been ordered, then I was told the correct one had been ordered. Since December the 4th appliance has been delivered and the correct refrigerator has not been delivered yet. We have attempted several times to get this resolved. We have also called several times, had to leave messages and no one has returned the call. I have included a copy of the original invoice, a copy of the delivery receipt showing the wrong refrigerator was delivered and a picture of the model that was delivered. The incorrect refrigerator model is also about $500 cheaper and no mention of reimbursement has been made. But, ultimately I would like the refrigerator that we ordered and paid for.

    We are aware of the issue with the ****** and we have their correct refrigerator on Backorder still. Unfortunately the people that left the refrigerator are no longer with our company to find out why they would leave a incorrect unit and to ask why we would allow a customer to use a $2,000 dollar refrigerator. We apologize to the Quinn’s for any inconvenience but would also like to remind them of upgrade on the dishwasher that we absorbed, also that they are currently using a brand new refrigerator to their benefit while their unit is on backorder. The Quinn’s have had no issue with demands through email before and we think that this case should be closed due to the fact they are clearly using and have not been left without refrigeration.
