On June 16, 2025, I drove 30 minutes to Price Toyota after speaking with a rep named Oscar about canceling the GAP policy on a previously leased vehicle. Oscar reviewed my purchase agreement and said I needed to come in and sign documents, which I reasonably understood to mean they would process the cancellation.

When I arrived, Oscar didn’t greet us and just said, “Go to the front desk,” before walking away. At the front desk, I was told the GAP couldn’t be canceled because it had expired. I was denied both a cancellation form and even a basic letter stating they were unable to process it. I would have gladly accepted a simple statement in writing such as, “We aren’t able to do this,” so I could send it to Toyota Financial and shift the issue to their side.

Instead, I was repeatedly told, “We can’t cancel it in the system,” and told to call Toyota Financial — even though Toyota Financial has made it clear they require a document from the dealership to move forward with the refund.

To make matters worse, I was blamed for not informing them I was selling the vehicle. That’s not true. In 2022, I contacted Price Toyota for a payoff quote, test-drove a Toyota Venza, and considered leasing again. After deciding not to, I sold the vehicle to CarMax. On that same day, I contacted Price Toyota again for payoff info. Once they realized I wasn’t leasing again, they told me to call Toyota Financial directly. I ended up handling everything myself.

Toyota Financial confirmed receipt of the payoff and sent a letter on 08/08/2022. Price Toyota never canceled the GAP, even though they were aware of the sale.

Now, in 2025, I’m still trying to get my refund. I’m not upset they couldn’t cancel it — I’m upset they wasted my time and showed no interest in helping. Oscar could have confirmed this in five minutes via phone or email. As a first-time buyer, I feel dismissed and misled.

I bought a 2023 Corolla Cross from Newark Price Toyota on October 16, 2023. Their management of their reward system is deceiving. I had 502.42 reward points or $502.42 toward the purchase of a new vehicle. They did not alert me to this fact at the time of the purachase and the points were not applied. When I went back to claim the reward they said they can not do it reroactively.
This is cheating in my book. They said it was my responsibility at the time of purchase to tell them that I had the points. In the past when I had repairs done at their service facility I was always reminded of my current points, I did not have to remind them. It is in their system. I have been a loyal customer since the 1980s. My trust in their business is greatly shaken.

Quoted one price to replace alternator. Went to pick up and the price tripled! They do not honor quotes they give. No one charges $1200 for an alternator. The quote they texted me through their service department magically disappeared after I approved it.

They lie about warranty’s and refuse to fix issues covered by a warranty. The will lie to you to get you to buy then turn around and not help you. I paid cash for my 2012 highlander it had transmission issues I brought it back within a month and the refused to fix it for me. They also did it record me being there so they could lie about it later. Do not buy anything from them or price Honda or Toyota world. All the same owner.

0n 8-15-22, I purchased a 2022 Toyota Camry. I traded in a 2012 Toyota Camry and was not given a fair price for it. If you plan to trade in your vehicle do your homework and get 2 or 3 outside offers. Doing this could save you some big money.
If you do trade in your car make sure that they are not advertising your car showing your tag.
In conclusion, keep ALL car cost worksheets that are presented to you during the sales process.
    Caveat emptor!
