On June 13, 2023 Nanticoke Automotive attempted to charge me 700 dollars to replace my rear left wheel speed sensor. They said it would take 5 hours to do the job on my 2018 Kia Optima.
I scanned the car before bringing it in an showed the front desk employee that it was the speed sensor. She looked at it and said ok.
I was shocked when she called me back to tell me it would be 700 so I said I would be back asap to pick it up.

When I arrived to pick up my car I was charged 200 for "scanning the car, and tracing the wires through the door and removing the door panel".
I paid the money so I could get my car back.
I called my old mechanic in another state and found out everything I was told was a lie.
The tire is removed etc and an ohms meter is used right there at the hub to test the wires which takes 5 minutes.
Also, according to my mechanic the labor time to replace this part is 1.4 hours not 5 hours. He said it would take him 45 minutes.
I went and bought the part myself and replaced it in 40 minutes so my mechanic was indeed correct.
I went back into Nanticoke today to discuss this horrible situation in hopes of getting some of my 200 back because they obviously lied about what they did, as well as question them about the 5 hour 700 quote to repair the sensor.
I told them what my mechanic from home said and that it only took ME 40 minutes not 5 hours.
I was told the owner was out of town and in a meeting yet my Mother was told he would be in this afternoon and would call her back.
I asked to be charged a fair amount for the work that was done yesterday, and possibly recieve a refund because they obviously did not have to check wires through my door panel.
    I was asked to leave.

As far as I am concerned this is fraud and criminal behavior. The speed sensor cost me, not the shop 180, plus 40 minutes of labor not 5 hours.
Nanticoke refused to do the right thing. I am doing what I can to stop them from robbing anyone else.
