Would be ZERO stars if possible. This company is a fraud. Like others, I accidentally made a reservation, then noted the TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR additional fee, immediately called them, they refused to cancel, and I spent hours jumping through hoops (2 hrs and 6 phone calls!) to eventually get it cancelled!!

Do not use this company. I accidentally placed a reservation with this company. I called immediately. Many hours on the phone. Instructed to call hotel for permission to cancel. Hotel says I don’t need permission from them. Call guest reservations again. They say they have no record of my conversation. I call hotel. I have managers name. She has no recollection of me speaking with her. Hotel Name: Double Tree Virginia Beach Pavillion Road. I call credit card to dispute bill. Credit card unable to come to agreement. The company had six weeks to reuse this accidental booking. We spent hours on the phone disconnected many times.

I was quoted and confirmed a hotel reservation in New York City - quote was $1200 USD. For 5 nights after payment details were entered I was charged $4500 USD. This isn't even a 5 star hotel. I have called them twice and they have told me it is due to their exorbitant tax and service recovery charge - approx $2000. Avoid them at all cost. I am surprised they are even allowered to operate. In my country - Australia - they would be swiftly investigated and shut down. A civil lawsuit - a big one - will sort them out ;)

Like many, I booked a room at a Hampton Inn (Fresno Airport), thinking that I was booking on the Hampton Inn's official website. The "Guestreservations" site had all the hallmarks and the appearance of an official site, but it turned out it was not. I feel strongly (although this is simply my opinion) that Guestreservations purposely designs the site to make you think you are booking on an official site in order to bait customers into booking with them. And I completely fell for it (which is embarrassing).
When I got my confirmation, I saw that I was charged an additional $139.30 in "Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees." I was not expecting that at all, and am really disappointed.
I've seen in prior BBB responses that "Guestreservations" responds to complaints with the same boilerplate letter, including this language:
"Further, by charging a service fee for all of its reservations, Guest Reservations is able to offer 24/7 customer support and operate as an independent travel network. To make sure that customers are aware of all fees and taxes, Guest Reservations clearly discloses the total amount and requires customers to click to agree to their credit card being charged and
to acknowledge that Guest Reservations is an independent travel network prior to processing the completed reservation request."
First, I didn't see any such disclosure, so I can only surmise that it was in the fine print (or there was a buried link to see this disclosure). I'm not sure, but I don't recall seeing it. Further, what kind of 24/7 customer support is "Guestreservations.com" even offering?? I don't need customer support for a reservation, and further, it looks to me from other reviews that they provide quite the opposite -- long holds, and lackluster responses.
Needless to say, I am going to be EXTREMELY CAREFUL to not full for this charade again. I wish that Guestreservations.com could be barred from using their website as it is right now because many customers are confused by it.

This website imposed as the actual hotel site. Advertising a fair price until after payment information was entered and submitted. At this time you will find a very unreasonable fee that is charged to your booking. Blind siding customers is bad business. This company will not talk to you to resolve the situation and always says it is non refundable.

SCAM! Came up from the website witht the hotel directly. Took over and made reservation. As soon as I realized, I cancelled and they charged a large "cancellation fee".

Clicked on first link on Google search results. Big mistake! Looked legit, not the hotel's website. The fees and taxes were more than one night rate. I thought is was normal considering the cost of everything nowadays. Thankfully my bank declined the reservation. Did a Google search of the particular hotel's website and and booked with them directly and saved almost $400. Avoid these scam artists at all cost!

I was led to believe I was making reservations directly through the hotel site. It wasn’t until I had entered card information and received confirmation and saw the service fees costs that I discovered that was not the case. In my option this is a deceptive and misleading act.
