1 starSTAY FAR AWAY, DO NOT let your elderly parents deal with them. My father (with dementia) called about a problem with his chair. They talked him into ordering a new one however he passed away before the chair was delivered. They have so much empathy for their customers (not) that they still want to charge a restocking fee. We can understand the return freight but a 25% restocking fee is ridiculous. Talk about taking advantage of the elderly.Review fromAnitra J.

3 starsThe First Time I Received A Mobile Wheelchair From Hoveround, It Was About Five & A Half Years Ago. My Experience Was Wonderful. About July 2024 My First Hoveround Mobile Wheelchair Stopped Working. Shortly After That, I Received A Letter From Hoveround, Stating I Had Reached My Five Year Warranty Expiration. It Was Time For Me To Get A New Wheelchair.I Began The Process With My Doctor, September of 2024. Every Few Days, Hoveround First Stated They Needed Something Else. Now Whenever I Call To See What The Status Is. They State They Haven't Received The Paperwork And Can't Do Anything Without It. My Doctor Has Filled Out All The Paperwork & Documents He Is Suppose To. He Is The Same Doctor That Did It The First Time. He Has Faxed Them Back And Done This Several Times Repeatedly.I Am So Frustrated & Don't Know What To Do. I Am Medically Disabled, With Numerous Life Threatening Illnesses. I Can Only Stand About 30 Seconds And Walk Only 2-3 ft. Before Falling. So I Am Literally Stuck In My Home. God Forbid There Was An Emergency Or Fire. I Could Not Get Out By Myself. I Don't Know What Is Going On With Hoveround , But They Need To Be Held Accountable For Their Actions!!!! This Is Ridiculous.***Review fromPauline H

I had been happy with Hoveround for over 20 years. Have had several. I needed to replace mine after I was hit by a car Mother's Day 2024. I ordered one as soon as I got out of the hospital (end of June) and paid for it. I was sold extra bells and whistles but absolutely had to have tie downs. After numerous phone calls I finally received my Hoveround just before Christmas - no tie downs and none of the extras I was sold and paid for. This means I cannot use it on city buses nor on my car nor on the van at my retirement center. I was just now (13 Jan 2025) told that they are on back order and were ordered 31 Dec 2024. I do not understand. I have mentioned them every phone call I made. When my new one was delivered I mentioned them again; the tech who delivered it was a subcontractor, knew nothing about it, thought they had been sent to me. Then she assured me they were coming. This was before Christmas. I will never use Hoveround again and will encourage any friends not to deal with them. I still like their product but do not like them.Hoveround Corporation

1 starDespite all the efforts this company puts into indicating very high customer service to entice purchase, after the sale, their customer service is almost non-existent. I ordered a Hoveround in March of 2024 through Medicare and private insurance and understood this process with MD and Physical Therapy evaluations would take up to 6 months, typically. 2 weeks later, my wife's ambulatory condition worsened and decided to order a second Hoveround out of pocket. This was delivered within 2 week with a car carrier by a service technician with assurances that Hoveround was the best with customer service. Hoveround contacted my physician for more in depth physical information over the next 2 months and I believed the order was being processed. I even called at 3 and 4 month intervals and was told they were waiting from Medicare approval. At 6 months (Sept 2024) I called again and was told the order was cancelled 2 months earlier by some manager due my to out of pocket purchase. I was told that the customer service rep would have the manager re-open my order and call me when the order was re-activated. No call, so I called again and order resubmitted but the physician certification was expired and I would have to start the process again. Horrible customer service!!! 2 starsOn my 2nd one, but today I am sorely disappointed to discover there is NO service after business hours. Since I called on Friday afternoon I must wait until Monday to discuss service issue which means I have no way of leaving home. And I can't even begin to schedule service appt until I speak with someone on Monday! I think I need a new battery and if so that will mean more days until I can leave. My wheelchair broke after a couple of years and I have been waiting 4 weeks to.get it fixed. Evertime my doctor turns in the pspereork.Hoveround dens it back saying it was not filled in correctly! This has happened 5 times. The last time Hoveround said my Dr had to.fill.out a form saying I needed the chair indefinitely! He sent the form back noe they said it was sent in too late. No one notified me of dates times etc. They send back forms without any notice! This has happened 5 times. I need this chair and I geel.that Hoveround is dragging its feet on purpode. Noe I have to wait until.September to see my dr! There have been no notices of dates or what has to be turned in. I am desperate. At least they can offer s replacement until.my chair gets fixed

3 starsWhen I received my Hoveround, the sales person is very courteous and showed me how to use it but since then I’m having trouble getting through my doorways opening up my door to just get through it and then I cannot open the door to go out of my building while sitting in the Hoveround I like to send it back but have to box it and ship it on my own which is too expensive and hard to do. Also, the Hover Round is not easy to transport, so not able to take it when I go to doctor appointments or just to go out, so these are downfalls for me I don’t know if it’s my fault or I just didn’t think this through but I’m not happy with my purchase I am on my own, so I have to rely just on myself to use this chair so it is not the most convenient for meReview fromVickie S

1 starI am submitting this complaint to express my profound dissatisfaction with **********'s customer service. My experience has been severely impacted by their inadequate support and apparent disregard for customer satisfaction, particularly concerning a power wheelchair I was compelled to purchase through them due to my insurance company's stipulations.Upon discovering that essential bolts for the wheelchair's control arm were missing, I encountered a series of customer service failures from Hoverround. Despite multiple attempts to rectify this issue, I was met with unresponsiveness, misinformation, and a clear lack of initiative to resolve a critical problem. This negligence has not only inconvenienced me but also compromised my mobility and daily quality of life, as the wheelchair is indispensable within my home.Hoverround's failure to stand by a product they sell, demonstrated by their unwillingness to provide necessary parts or meaningful assistance, compelled me to seek resolution directly from Golden Technologies, the manufacturer. However, my primary grievance lies with Hoverround's customer service, which has shown a consistent pattern of inadequacy and indifference towards customers' needs and issues.This complaint underscores Hoverround's dire need for a substantial overhaul in their customer service practices. It is unacceptable for a company, especially one providing essential mobility aids, to exhibit such a disregard for their responsibility to support and satisfy their customers. I urge the Better Business Bureau to take my experience into account as a testament to the systemic issues within Hoverround's customer service department.
