    *********************** Roofing was referred to me by a friend and a handy man and they did work in a neighborhood I used to work in .I got a proposal on Jan 3, 2024 for roof maintenance on my metal roof. Proposal was to remove all fasteners and replace with next size up, install a cricket and new flashing, caulk where needed and address existing flashing. *** and his wife were at my property and gave me the proposal. We talked and I accepted the proposal. *** said the his crew would be out Wednesday to to the work. *** spoke very highly of his crew and told me that he himself would stop in a few times during the day to over see the work. The crew showed up Wednesday morning around 9 completed the work and left at 5. *** never showed, his brother was there for about a half hour around 1`0 am. *** sent over his partner ****** to collect payment. I got a very uncomfortable feeling from the ******** days passed and *** never checked the work or called. Jan 21 myself and friend went up on the roof. We found that while they did remove the old screws they were replaced with the same size, many of the screws can be loosened by hand, some can be lifted right out and there are several holes where no screws were put back in. They caulked over the old caulking, the edge of the cricket is not fastened down, space for rodents and bees to get in. Texted ***, he came to my house Monday while I was away, we spoke on the phone later, he agreed with me said he would make it right. His excuse was that supplier did not have the larger screws. *** said he could send the crew back out Thurs, I said wait to put me on your schedule when larger screws are in. That's how we left it. Nine days past no word so I called *** on Jan 31 and asked for my money back. Said he had to check with his wife, did not hear back, texted him Feb 3 asked him to call be Monday Feb 5. Still have not heard from him. The crew left screws & metal laying on my roof and in gutters. I question the integrity of the cricket.

    We strive to take care of every customer. There was some miscommunication and errors on our part. We attempted to make it right, which was put off by the customer. When we offered to come back out and fix any mistakes, we were told to wait. We did not hear back for several days from the customer. The next time we heard back, she asked for her money back. Although we would rather have had the chance to go back and make it right, we refunded her money. Her cricket that she doubts the integrity of, has not leaked since the work was done. She told us that it had been leaking for years previously. As said above, we try to go above and beyond to take care of everyone who calls us and our great record shows that.

    I am rejecting this response because: I believe that going above and beyond should include someone checking that the crew has the correct materials for the job, over sight while the crew is working and checking the job after completion. If I had not gone up on ******* I would have had the false security that ******* was ready for the next storm season. The day *** wanted to send a crew back out I had a dental appointment. AND I said to *** to contact me when the larger screws were available. Nine days passed with no word from *** so I asked for a refund. Going above and beyond is taking the initiative to contact the customer not wait for them to call. ESPECIALLY when *** knew his crew left uncovered s**** holes and loose screws in *******. *** is trying to put this on me by saying the communication problem was my fault. None of this is my fault. Plus until I made a complaint and wrote a bad review I never heard from *** until Feb 16
