Metal Roofing done by Sabal construction at *********************************************************, resulted in roof leak, ceiling collapse and black mold. The contractor neglected my repeated request to correct the problem. The leak started the day after the company removed the solar panel and roofing work. ****** of Sabal construction was immediately notified of this serious problem, but did not respond. After a week of no action by Sabal, I was forced to stop the leak. Replacement of dry wall and the painting needs to completed.

The complaint that the **************** posted here is incorrect and does not reflect all of the facts. After ******, sales representative, communicated to production and main office about the leak, a senior manager contacted **************** and advised that a qualified employee had been scheduled to assess the issue and provide feedback to the production manager to address the issue properly.

After a thorough inspection of the leak, our employee found that a deteriorated copper plumbing line was leaking, several feet away from the roof deck, and not caused by any of the work performed by Sabal. We advised the owner that a plumber should be called to repair the leak, and we even offer to repair the drywall, though the damage was certainly not related to the roof. We provided her with a video and photos of the leaking pipe so she could see exactly where the problem was.

Finally, since the customer posted this complain, she has paid in full for her roof (we did not provide any discount for our services), as she has a brand-new standing seam metal roof that has passed all inspections.  The customer has also received all the warranty documents.

We would highly appreciate if **************** complaint is removed, as the leak was not caused by our company and as always we have provided a high quality metal roof and outstanding customer service.

I am rejecting this response because:

The fundamental fact of the matter is that I noticed the leak the day after Sabal workers dismantled the solar panels. The next day, I notified the leak to the company and had no response. The leak progressively got worser by the day and resulted in the ceiling being damaged and mold start growing. As a responsible homeowner, if I had noticed any leak before Sabal did the damage, I would have immediately fixed the leak.

Strictly from an engineering standpoint, the leak could have started from metal to metal contact and from blunt force used by workers while removing the solar panels. The blunt force was so strong that 2 of my wall pictures fell down and broke the framing glass.

    Sincerely,

While Sabal Construction and Roofing LLC is not in any way saying the owner knew of the leak before the roof replacement, it is clear and evident from the video that we provided that the coper deterioration had been ongoing for much longer than the period of roof replacement. If the movement of the home during roof construction was the proverbial 'straw that broke the camels back', we cannot be held responsible.

Our contract states that "The Customer agrees to hold THE COMPANY harmless for any of the following: Any damages caused by vibrations.." It also states that "Sabal Construction and Roofing LLC is not responsible for damage to AC lines, electrical wires, plumbing or other items which may be too close to decking.

Sabal Construction and Roofing LLC made a good faith effort to go above and beyond our legal requirements by offering to repair the drywall, which the customer declined.

    Complaint: 20268324

I am rejecting this response because:

Sabal construction is fully responsible for the roof leak and resulting damage. Two of the employees were sleeping on my driveway in the middle of the day...and I had to stop my car and ask them to wake up...This is a visible sign of the inferior quality of the company's work force....

NOW I AM SERIOUSLY CONCERNED ABOUT QUALITY OF MY $35,000 ROOFING WORK AND THE DEPENDABILITY OF THEIR WARRANTY. I AM SURE THE COMPANY WILL NEVER TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS.....

IF THE COMPANY DON'T ACCEPT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY, I WILL BE FORCED TO ELEVATE THIS IRRESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR TO THE NEXT LEVEL..........

    Sincerely,

    Dear ****************,

We are sorry you feel that way; despite all the evidence presented.  Sabal Construction and Roofing LLC stands behind its workmanship and material warranties.

I am rejecting this response because:

Your company's shoddy workforce and poor workmanship caused this damage to my house. I paid $35,000 for this roofing and it is unbelievable that you are not taking responsibility for this...

I will be forced to elevate this matter wherever it may lead to....

This will be my last response... period...

    Sincerely,
