Fraudulent checks submitted to my mother's checking account beginning in June, 2024 for a monthly amount $44.99 and each month after up until November when my mother closed her checking account adding up to $269.94. In review of my online checking account, I discovered 4 fraudulent charges, in the amount of $129.70, taken from my personal checking account.On 10/17/2024 a withdrawal of $3.49 was taken by ID Guard LLC., on 11/13 ID Guard LLC made a 2nd withdrawal of $44.99, on 11/15/24 *************** withdrew $41.27, and on 11/18/24 ******* made a 4th withdrawal in the amount of $39.95.I spoke to Augasca on 11/27/24, at the number provided for ID Guard LLC, **************, and as their representative, she was aware of all 4 withdrawals to my checking account.Business Response

October 29, 2024 ID Guard LLC wrote an unauthorize check on my behave the amount of 3.49. I never signed up/ subscribed nor heard of this company. I called many times to canceled but the same lady every time gave me a hard time. She told me to wait until I receive the package. She didn't not let me cancel. On 11/14/2024 ID Guard LLC (Account #******** wrote a check (Check #:167253) in the amount $44.99 to themselves out of my checking account. I never subscribed to this entity. I have never heard of this company before and have not conducted any business with them. I called the ID Guard LLC customer service number listed on the check ************ and spoke with ******* (she would not provide a last name) to try and resolve the issue. She gave me a hard time and refused to close the account and reimburse me. I told her I did not authorize the withdrawal. I was looking at my checking account and noticed a check that was presented and cashed and it is not my check. Upon opening it was clear this is a fraudulent charge as my name is misspelled and my phone number is my work number that I don't use. I called the number on the check and they said that I signed up for fraud alerts. I did not as I already have a company that does that. I was transferred and told that I signed up for a $100 free credit somewhere to a store, nothing about a fraud alert company... **** and then they stated I gave my banking over the phone (NEVER would have done that). Requested my money back and was told they cannot do it. Then was told they can give me 50% back in gift cards. Told them that is unacceptable. They then said they will send me a check and and I can expect it in 5 weeks!! Not holding my breath. I want this fraudulent account closed and my money returned to me.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:I have come to find two other unauthorized charges to my account. When I called they confirmed my account is closed and they could not tell me what the refund will be. I was told I "have to wait and see:", that is unacceptable. I want to make sure this is paid back in full as this is not something I authorized, my name is spelled wrong as well. I went to my bank and they recommended I close my checking account because of this activity and I did. Please confirm that a check for the full amount of 3 unauthorized fraudulent checks were drawn against my account. Then I will accept the response. Thank you.

On November 15, 2024, during a call with a representative from my auto insurance company, I was placed on a brief hold while waiting to speak with someone. During the hold, I heard an advertisement for ID Guard LLC. Without my consent or knowledge, the ad abruptly concluded by saying, "Thank you for signing up."Upon the representatives return to the call, I immediately inquired about any new services being added to my account. The representative confirmed that no new services had been activated through them.However, on November 21, 2024, I received notification from my bank that my checking account had been debited $3.49 by ID Guard LLC. I called ID Guard LLC directly to cancel this service, only to be informed that they would not cancel the transaction or service. I explained that I had not authorized the charge, nor did I have any association with the company. Despite my efforts to resolve the issue, they refused to cancel the service or refund the unauthorized charge.I am seeking assistance from the Better Business Bureau to resolve this matter, as the actions of ID Guard LLC appear to be deceptive and unauthorized.Business Response

On October 16, 2024, an amount of 3.49 was withdrawn without my consent. An amount of ***** was withdrawn on 11/14 without consent. I did not sign up for this service, though they claimed that I phoned and provided all of my information. I would never provide my banking information through a website or over the phone. I called and filed a complaint with the company, but could not get a word in due to their required reading of a script of all of the 'benefits' of this coverage. One agent admitted that i may have pressed a 'cookie' in error on my computer. I asked to be transferred to someone who could cancel this 'subscription'.The next agent started reading the script. I asked to cancel over 5 times in the conversation. The agent continued to talk over me about a packet that I would be receiving in 5-7 days outlining all of the benefits and to please read before canceling. I continued to ask to formally cancel. I also tried to 'register' the account number shown on the fraudulent 'check', and the ID Guard website did not recognize it as valid.Business Response

I discovered 4 fake unauthorized checks on my monthly mailed bank statement. 2 of the checks were for ID Guard LLC. I uploaded copies I got from my bank. My last name is misspelled in the upper left corner on the photo of the check. The check did not resemble my actual bank checks and my bank was not listed on this check. I have discussed this with my bank and also called the phone number listed for this business. They gave me a hard time about closing this. I told them I did not authorize either of these withdrawals. I have also entered a complaint on this site about an unauthorized withdrawal in the same manner by ************. I will also be filing a complaint about an unauthorized withdrawal by ***************. All 4 of these checks that were listed on my bank statement have the same incorrect name spelling in the upper left hand corner. SYLVESTRY but my last name is spelled *********.
