    Date of transaction - 8/1/22 & 8/2/22 The amount of money paid - $32,280.00 What the business committed to provide you - New windows and doors that meet industry specifications. Industry standards for this contractor fall under ASTM C1036 for flat glass.What is the nature of the dispute - Two of the windows do not meet ASTM C1036 standards and one of the sliding door was not installed correctly as they ordered the wrong door (and/or blame the manufacturer, but the error is on the side of the company as all three doors were wrong). Concerns to windows were identified in a week prior to any cleaning. I had to tell the workers to swap the two doors that could be swapped after I inspected what they were doing since no project manager was present for the work). The contractor scratched two of the windows significantly whereby the scratches are visible from beyond 10 feet away, are greater than 3 inches, and are easily felt when touched by hand. They view through the window is impaired by these scratches. The contractor sent out a project manager who agreed the scratches were really bad and that the windows needed to be replaced. He also stated the door would have to be reordered as the hardware could not be simply swapped. After months of no action, updates, or resolution, I contacted the company again. The owner came out and inspected the windows and door directly. He too stated the scratches were bad and that he would contact the manufacturer to see what he could do. He also stated he would have to look into the door options as he did not know what he could do to fix it. Again, after months of no resolution, updates, follow up, or answers, I have escalated with the company again. The responses are shirking blame and I have been lied to which is evident in the emails received as the information received is contradicting withing a few days time. I am unable to resolve this dispute with this contractor as they are avoiding responsibility.
