      Had a reservation for 3 weeks ahead of time... even called them to make sure they knew I was coming on a later flight... was never told anything was wrong. I get to the counter to pick up my RESERVED ********** tell me there's a 3 hour wait & I MIGHT get a car? Are you kidding me??? My ************ were left stranded in *************** They are a rental car company so they should have CARS to RENT!! Never again willI rent from ************************ will tell all this story!! Worst experience ever

      This was my second time renting from Dollar. This time I had too wait for 45 minutes for my rental. Plus the gentleman at the counter was very confusing about the whole process. They charged me a $100.00 for a cleaning of the inside of the piece of s*** car they gave me. The remote worked have the time and I had trouble getting the keys out of the ignition. This is the worst experience I have had with a rental car. I am going elsewhere the next trip I take.

      Dollar rental left me and family stranded on interstate for 5 hours waiting for tow truck. Customer service was terrible. Paid an Uber to get family out of harms way. Norfolk airport Hertz manager was nasty, no eye contact and gave me 140.00 voucher, like I would ever use them again!!

      I reserved a car for December 7, 2023 from Dollar Rent a Car during October and paid the entire amount except for the taxes. I arrived at the ****************** and took the shuttle to pick it up.I waited an hour and was told that I would have to wait at least another hour but they could get me into another car if I pay another $200 plus tax. I am losing precious time from visiting my daughter so I bit the bullet and paid. They should not have charged me more. 3 months prior, I had a similar issue with Enterprise, however even though they gave me a vehicle upgrade, they did not charge me for. I made a customer review and they were to contact me within 72 hours. It has been over 10 days and not a word from them. It is not likely that I will rent a car from them ever again.

      Was charged by ******** then when car was brought back Dollar charged me again! Dont ever rent through ******** or Dollar!! I have rented cars in ***** many times and first time this has happen! Never again through either company!!! Such a scam!! Be careful!

      So bad, terrible service. It was a late flight, so I called the **************** number earlier to make sure we'd be okay even if we got there a little late. We arrived at the airport on time, but the shuttle to the rental place had a line over 2 blocks long. When we finally arrived at the rental place, they were closed. Every other car rental was open. Employees were hiding in the back room and actually had a security guard come over and tell us they were closed until 6am. Over 30 people didn't get their cars. I felt so bad for one lady with 2 kids who was going to be stuck there for 6 hours, they looked so miserable. Run from Economy bookings and Dollar/Thrifty rental cars.

      Dollar "accidentally" downsized me car size, full size to mid size, and doesn't seem to care. I have been ignored by their customer service department at every turn. I completed their customer satisfaction survey and asked to be contacted about my less than satisfactory experience, emailed the customer service department, and have called several times all to no avail. Now the car they gave me was a perfectly good mid-sized car but I payed for a full size car and all Im looking for is a refund of the difference in price betwixt the two sizes. I would also accept a free upgrade or free day rental voucher, basically some sort of minor compensation for the error on their part. It is their refusal to acknowledge me and this issue that is forcing my hand to write this review. I hope this helps other choose rental car companies more wisely than I did. I shant be using dollar again!

      Would rate this company 0 stars if possible. Have been waiting, along with dozens of other customers, for our rental for almost an hour with no cars in sight. Nothing said about any wait when we booked. Sounds like this is standard practice for Dollar/Thrifty/Hertz here in **********. Have NEVER seen such a s***** system in the 30 years I have rented cars.
