      I reserved a rental car from Dollar through my AAA membership. I flew into Minneapolis/St. Paul airport on Friday, July 28 at 7:30pm, after a weather-related delay in Denver en route from San Francisco. The hours stated on Dollar's website said their rental desk at the airport was open until midnight. However, when I arrived at 7:30pm, there was no one at the desk. I called the 1-800 number to try to get assistance, but got a message that the offices were closed. I waited for 30 minutes to see if anyone would come, but no one did. The woman at the adjacent car rental desk said that she had seen many customers get stranded by Dollar. Because of this, I had to rent a car from another vendor at the last minute, resulting in a much higher rental fee. When I asked AAA to help me get a partial refund from Dollar for having to pay a higher rate, Dollar refused my request and lied about the day/time that I arrived. This is outrageous. I have the car rental receipt to show when I rented the car, and my flight information as well. I absolutely do not recommend Dollar as a car rental company and will refuse to do business with them from this point on. Terrible service. Terrible customer support. Terrible company.

      THEY ARE NOT THRUST WORTHY, they will rip you off.I purchased a car August 2022, two weeks later the car was having problems with the motor and sensor they mechanic said they fixed. And I come to find out the motor set up is not original from ****** I talk to them about it they dont do nothing they say I have to pay out of my pocket for sensor problems. The problems were never fixed and the o ** option they got is bring it to my mechanic who will do whatever they told them to do. This month is a year, and the car is still not working Im still paying them while I have to pay mechanics. I will be looking for options and reimbursement

      Deceptive during the entire transaction. My husband said he didnt want the electric vehicle in reservation and needed gas. He had already prepaid $330 on a simple one week rental only dropping a kid off at college. Agent advised my husband that this should only be $250. He actually input a $250 upgrade and at drop off we assumed our cc may be credited some but was actually charged an additional $443 and later received toll fee on 7/31 of 38.38$ This was at **************. Meanwhile he is saying one thing and having ** initial in things we had said we were turning down. Agent said he was saving us money when he padded the bill to unethical amounts. Its criminal

      I asked what it would cost to upgrade from an economy reservation to a standard-size care. Dollar's agent at the ****************** agent stated that it normally cost $60 / day to upgrade from an economy to a standard car, and suggested it was a bargain to upgrade at $20 / day. I accepted. I just checked the price difference for next week, and it was approximately a $1.50 / day difference. However I adjust the dates, I can't find a date range where the standard car is anywhere near $60 / day more than an economy car. Lying about what something costs is a textbook definition of financial fraud.While I consider it relatively minor relative to the financial fraud ********** also took me roughly 90 minutes from entering the check-in line to actually receiving a car.

      If I could give 0 stars, I would. I purchased a used car from this dealership and the day after I took the car home (a day after purchase due to their system failure), the check engine light came on. When I called to advise, they had me take the car to get a diagnostic from AutoZone to provide them. I did everything they asked. They took my car for "repairs" for a week and a half, when I picked up my car and drove back home (Arlington to ****** at the time) and my check engine light came on again. Went to get another diagnostic and called to advise of the issue, again. This goes on off and on for ***** more times. I asked for a replacement car during the first 30 days and was told that repairs would have to be more than car value. We found out after 5 times of them taking my car (weeks at a time), the head mechanic was only resetting my codes and sending me home with the same damages. I advised my car stalled on the freeway. Here we are, a year later (16 months), check engine is STILL on, they don't want to pay for or repair or get me a new vehicle. My car stopped again recently and they had my car last October for 3 weeks and the issue was still not fixed. They never advised me nor was it on the car fax that was provided that the engine was "rebuilt" and they couldn't tell the true condition of the engine. I still have a faulty fuel pump for now 16 months later. I have still been making payments and repairing what needed to be repaired while I had the car but not before. I have given them ***** times to fix or replace the car within the timeframe and they dragged it out so they wont have to pay or fix anything.

      We received the complaint from you, and the complaints are:

      1. The engine came on a day after you took it home.
      2. You took your car to the AutoZone and provided a copy of the diagnostic to the service department.
      3. You asked for a replacement car, and you were told by ?? that the repair would have to be more than the car value.
      4. Each time the repair shop would keep the car for a week to fix it, and the head mechanic reset the codes for my car and sent me home with the same issue.
      5. Sixteen months later the same issue happened, and they never advised me nor was it on the Carfax that was provided the engine was a rebuilt for my vehicle.
      6. You still have had a faulty fuel pump for the last sixteen (16) months.

      According to our records, you purchased your vehicle in April 2022, and in May 2022, the service department noticed that you needed help with your vehicle; therefore, they asked you to take your vehicle to your nearest and it was a ***** **************** to take care your vehicle,and at this auto repair, your vehicle received a service for R&***** Conv.Which cost you zero dollar for this repair.

      Then in July/2022, the *** Boys ************** provided an oil change, engine diagnostic, and completed R&R timing chain replace,and on 10/2022, the service department provided a diagnostic & adjust your R&R variable valve timing. Total cost for you was $100.00 for the tow fees.

      In addition, ***************** **** helps you with extended two payments for the dates 1/7/23 & 1/21/23, plus modified the date of payment as your income paycheck change the dates.

      As all of the above, the repair shop at the dealership and the ***************** **** provided to help you through the needed times.

      Again, we have been trying to strike and doing our best, because our customers are our top priority in our business.

      RENT A CAR FROM ********* ON 7/8 THROUGH 7/12 DROP OFF IN ************************************* **, MADE RESERVATION THROUGH PRICELINE. THE FINAL CHARGES WHEN DROPPED THE RENTAL CAR WAS $461 WHICH WAS INCORRECT, SUPPOSEDLY $180. AFTER INVESTIGATION, MY RENTAL CAR WAS BEING RENT OUT AGAIN AND DROPPED IN ******* ** ON 7/16. MY CREDIT CARD GOT CHARGED ON 7/17 FOR $461. I DISPUTED THE CHARGES OF $461, THEN MAILED OUT ALL THE ***** DOCUMENTATIONS TO PRICELINE AND DOLLAR RENT-A-CAR THAT I NEVER DROVE OR DROPPED IT TO ******* **. I MAILED OUT MY FLIGHT RESERVATION TO COME BACK TO STL ON 7/12, GO BACK TO WORK SCHEDULE ON 7/14, PRICELINE RESERVATION WHICH ONLY 7/8-7/12. STILL OPEN & GOING ON CASE, UNRESOLVED AT ALL!!!!AS OF TODAY, I'VE BEEN RECEIVING MORE STATEMENTS FROM DOLLAR RENT-A-CAR THAT I OWE THEM $430, STILL SHOWING DROPPED OFF IN **. ALL THE **** CHARGES IN **, MAILED TO MY HOUSE! WHAT A SCAMMER! DOLLAR RENT-A-CAR STATED TO PRICELINE THAT THEY HAVE REFUNDED SUCCESSFULLY TO MY CREDIT CARD OF THE AMOUNT OF $791, I EMAILED TO PRICELINE ALL OF MY CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS THAT ISNT ANYTHING SHOWING CREDIT FROM DOLLAR RENT-A-CAR EXCEPT THE DISPUTE I REQUESTED!VERY REGRET IT!!!!!

      They are a scam and think you cannot do anything about the fact they charged my card double the rental rate. I was told by an employee and the manger to complete a complaint form and send it to corporate and that was my only solution. I requested a refund for overages that were charged and that was denied. I requested they go back and listen to my conversation with the representative (because I know phone calls are recorded) and now they cant - that was denied! I was the reservation department is a different department. They billed me for an extra hour which is false. I would NEVER recommend Dollar and plan to take every action possible. DO NOT RENT and dont say I didnt tell you !!!

      Wow, the same thing happened to be as ****** * on the review, just goes to show you how crooked the company is..See below from ****** * I am in the process of trying to get my $200 deposit back and have been given the run around for days about this matter. Several agents have lied to me and told me that they released it on the 8th and that it should be with my credit card company. This is not real! I have received refunds on my credit card before and it depends on the merchant releasing the funds back to the credit card company. Think about it, why would my credit card company, who wants to make money on the interest of my purchases, keep my $200 and not apply it back to my credit line. Also, when you try to contact the local number, NO ONE ANSWERS! Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT RENT WITH THEM! The price was exponentially higher than what I was told it would be overall and I'm having an impossible time trying to get my money back.

      THEY DON'T DESERVE A RATING......Dollar Rental are the worst!!!! I arrived at Westchester County Airport to pick up my reserved prepaid car rental. When I get to the counter, the agent ask for a flight number. Because i didn't have one they would not give me the car. They said i had to have a flight number in order to pick up a car from the airport. There is no where online when making reservations that ask for such information. The agent insisted that it was on there and maybe i didn't read the fine print. I ask to speak to a manager in person. Some one came after waiting almost 30 minutes to scream and insist that I didn't meet the requirements and that is why I can not receive the car. I asked for my money back that they were holding on my card. They said it was nothing they could do and that I need to call customer service. So i did that and they told me that I needed to go online and cancel the car rental and a confirmation would be sent to me. I did that and NO confirmation was ever sent. So I called customer service again to explain what was going on, that representative said it was nothing she could do. I called again and another rep said it would take 7-10 business day to receive the money back. Well here it is today 8/21 and still NO MONEY!!!! I call to report this matter and another agent said nothing was done at the previous call so she was putting the claim through. Now i have to wait another 7-10 business days before for the transaction to be completed! This is INSANE & RIDICULOUS. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE!!!

      Scam alert! Fraudulent practices. overlooking. I don't know how this company is still in business. I booked on their website, they took my money. i called them to make sure my reservation car would be there when I arrived they said no problem. when I arrived at the *************** no car left! how is that possible when I paid for it! my whole family was there for our brother in law who passed away . They dont care! now they referred me to someone outside of U S saying I didn't book thru Dollar . Not sure how that is possible when i was on the dollar website! still waiting to see if I will ever get my money back! this scam should not be allowed ! Fraud negative no stars but this doesn't allow. very upset
