      I not sure if the agents are incentivized to con people into buying insurance. I fell victim to this scheme during my last trip to Orlando. At the counter, I was required to choose a package. I was not told that I had the option of no package and no additional pricing was disclosed to me at the time. I was then directed to a completely separate terminal to get the vehicle and was put into the wrong vehicle with my parents and 7 year old, which created a great deal of chaos. When I arrived at my destination, I noticed the significant change for insurance and called right immediately. The agent said they were unable to assist me unless I returned to the airport, which wasn’t an option. I was told I could dispute the charge and it would be removed at the end. I asked for email confirmation and was told I would get it, although I never did. I also emailed their customer support and sent a message via Twitter trying to get assistance as soon as possible. Fast forward to the end of the rental agreement and they are unwilling to remove the cost of the insurance despite their shady, borderline illegal, sales tactics and their agents lying to me. There should be a well documented history of my attempts to remove this insurance, which I never wanted. I have never encountered this kind of poor service with any other rental agency I have used.

      Left an expensive pair of sunglasses in a vehicle and reported it barely an hour after returning car and no one has contacted me about my claim I filed. Either the accepting employee stole them or the company dont care to see it as a priority to a first time customer

      I recently rented withDollar of *************** ** and upon arriving at the terminal desk, I was immediately told that I did not want to rent the manager special (which I had originally reserved) and that it would not be good for my vacation, that it would run out of charge fast and she proceeded to tell me that she was going to upgrade my rental to $20 with her employee discount. It was never stated that I was going to pay **** for the vehicle plus an additional $20 on top of that along with fees, charges and many other charges that were applied to my credit card. By the time my vacation was over I paid almost $700 to have the vehicle for 3 1/2 days. My original charge was supposed to be $200 for my entire trip. I did not have this kind of money to spend on a rental and I was deceived and manipulated when picking up my vehicle. The charges were never discussed with me clearly, and I was completely taken advantage of in every way. I tried to contact dollar in several ways to get reimbursed for all of the extra charges and I just wanted to be able to pay the original cost that I was quoted when I made the reservation, but nobody has been helpful at all. Nor has anybody contacted me regarding the issue to make any resolution. Last time I spoke with dollar they told me they were not crediting back the amount because I signed the contract when in fact, I trusted dollar when I was running the vehicle that they were telling me the truth, and didn't read all the fine print. This is not how you treat your customers I will never rent from dollar again.

      Absolutely the worst rental experience EVER! We had to wait for 3 hours, starting at 8:30pm, in a cold, damp garage to even get a car - which was smaller than what we requested. Then, when we returned it, they charged us an additional $238 for additional "mandatory fees" including $75 for use of the PlatePass - which has nothing to do with the number of tolls you go through - we only went through 2 tolls but they charged $15/day rental. Then they charged us $18.25 for fuel, even though the car was full upon return. And there's the "Concession Fee" of $56 and "Other" of $8 and "Customer Facility Charge" of $30 and "Motor Vehicle Lease Tax" of $13 and plain old "Tax" of $37.25. What the heck?!?! Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!!! NEVER using them again!

      I've been not just a customer but a member of dollar express for almost 20 years, and in the past decade I barely rent from them anymore because of the worst customer service ever. The worst experience at LAX where the manager (who clearly shouldn't be running this big location) not only was not helpful at all, but he told me I had to be in the regular (longest) line instead of my preferred membership line, because they failed to properly register my reservation under my account.

      Absolute worst experience ever renting a car. I will never use them again or fly into Buffalo airport. All rental car companies are on site. It a big mess. But Dollar was the worst. I was there for 2 1/2 hours waiting in line!!! I was forced to give at least one star. It was worse than that.

      This is the worst car rental company I have ever used. I have informed my travel agent to never recommend them to any more of her clients. They added almost $800 to my 5 days car rental in addition to the $600.00 deposit they requested at the time of car pickup. Again never use this company If they reaped me off they will do the same to other people. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO ADD A 0 STAR.

      Charged us almost €1500 extra on our credit cards after we returned home to Ireland..no receipt,no explanation...They won't reply to emails..absolute disgrace of a company

      Lost my wallet , no one was willing to even look for it . I left it in the vehicle in the glove box , this company does not have a direct number to contact anyone at the location and they also post online any items they find for the public to just see . They also charge extra for insurance once you arrive to the location. Car was all dinged up & remote start doesn’t work. If you need a rental expect to wait 45 minutes - 2 hours in line , doesn’t matter if you “check in early and sign all the forms online” you will still have to wait behind people who haven’t even reserved a car yet . About 10-20 registers but only 2 workers . If you know what’s best you won’t go through HERTZ / THRIFTY / DOLLAR car rentals . DO NOT RECOMMEND GOOD LUCK GETTING A HUMAN.
