      WORST RENTAL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE Family arrived at LAX dollar location at 11:30pm after a long journey, ready to begin our vacation. We had pre-booked and pre-paid a car for the trip. We waited 2 hours in line to speak with an agent and check-in... who then told us that it was ANOTHER 4-5 HOUR WAIT to get a car... and this was at 1:30am !!! We couldn't sleep overnight on the floor at the rental car location with our children and so we left and took an Uber to our hotel. The agent said it's always like this on weekends but we could go to another airport location tomorrow. The agent put a note in our file showing there were no cars at LAX and that we could go to the Burbank airport location. The next morning I took an Uber to Burbank airport to find a car. But the agent at Burbank said there were no cars and I had to go back to LAX !! I told the agent but I have no car ... the agent literally said "take a bus or a train" and refused to help or even look at the note on my reservation that was put there by a dollar agent at LAX. I am SHOCKED that this company thinks it is acceptable to operate this way. This is borderline CRIMINAL to take my money on a pre-paid booking but have no cars. I am disgusted and will warn everyone I know to avoid this company at all costs.

      Unfortunately there isn't anything less than 1 star. Reserved a car a week ago, just to get to Atlanta airport and have to wait 4-5 hours for them to get me a car. This is ridiculous

      Once u spend your money with them, they could care less about what they sold u. And theyll use up your 30 day policy to basically have to do nothing if there is ever a problem with your vehicle!!

      Thank you for the opportunity to provide an explanation that helps the customer better understand. Please note that all vehicles from our dealership come with a limited warranty for 18 months or ****** miles, whichever occurs first. In addition, the limited warranty document provided what is covered and what is "NOT" covered. Moreover,we do not have a 30-day policy for any vehicle.

      According to our records, on July 19, 2023,you requested a replacement part as Shocks, Struts, A/C Compressor & A/C condenser for your vehicle, and our service manager mentioned that these parts were not covered under the limited warranty.

      Again, if you need a copy of a limited warranty, don't hesitate to ask the dealership for a copy. Once again, thank you for the opportunity to help.

      We rented a car from Dollar from the Tampa fl airport, and we were driving when someone crashed into our rental smashing the whole trunk) We called the line and fallowed the ai direction on the phone line and we were connected with super helpful employees who guided us with what to do about the hit car. They were so kind and helpful and got a us to a location to swap our car for a new rental, we just had to give them the police report information, and the person’s who his us information (which was on the police report). they are super helpful for any questions we had and they gave us a new rental car without an exchange fee (probably because we were the ones hit) all we had to do was still fill up the hit rental’s gas which they reminded us to do so we did not get charged the fill fee. Every employee that we spoke to in the phone and in person all asked if we were ok, and if there was anything we needed. When we picked up the new car the people were super kind and understanding. Their care and concern was truly amazing. I’m looking through the reviews for dollar and they are terrible but for us in Florida we had no problems. (Also getting the first car was super easy)

      Sneaky hidden fees!! Also they had a sign posted that the gas was $6 per gallon and then when you bring it back for them to put the gas in they say it's $11 a gallon. Horrible customer service! They said they were short-handed and I just had to drop off the car and leave the keys in it and photograph it to prove what I did because they don't have any help but charge full price they are a horrible company! So what was supposed to be $23 a day for a rental car for 2 days and I brought it back 2 hours early and only drove 75 miles actually ended up costing me $144! Never again! Alamo much more reputable!

      Im very dissatisfied with this company and the rental car I had rented for a week with my 5 kids. First, I waited 2 hours to claim my car in the airport while multiple staff would go on break leaving 1 person to work the counter. Secondly, my car battery died 2x in one week while my whole family loaded in the car for an outing. The tires continued to get low tire pressure and we had to fill them several times. Lastly, the air conditioner vent in the back seat fell on my daughters head. I will never rent a car from this place again! Pay the extra money and rent from a reliable company! Frustrated isnt the word!!

      I PRE-PAID for my car and had arrived on time to pick up my car at 2pm. There was one person helping the line of people. By the time I made it to your counter it was 3:58pm, so almost 2 hours after the alloted pick up time, to be told my car isn't ready and it would be an additional 1-2 hours... I needed to get on the road and could not wait. Was only offered to pay an additional $270 for an upgrade or wait. When I asked the manager about the situation. His name is Jared and he was a pleasure to speak with. (sarcasm) He was condesending and mentioned it was my choice to upgrade and that they did technically have my car but it was just not ready..if you can't give me my car at the alloted time or almost 2 hours after, it's synonymously associated with not having my car at all. Then Jared has the audacity to tell me that I should have shown up on time.. WOW! if only I had done so, oh wait. I did! He then continued on about how the rental car industry is just this way and they only guarantee cars within 24 hours. If that's the case, it's unacceptable to expect people to wait that long. He refused to sympathize with us. We shouldn't have had to pay for the upgrade when we're left with no choice. We were driving to Seattle for my college commencement and had already waited almost 2 hours. All I was wanting was to have the upgrade charge waived/have a complimentary upgrade since I did my due dilligence and they completely dropped the ball. Jared used the scenerio that if your pick up time is 1pm and you get to the counter at 1:30pm, then someone gets up to the counter at 1:05pm, then they will be given the car. How is that fair? I pre-paid, Dollar already has my money. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST. GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR RENTAL CAR NEEDS.

      I would also give this rental company a zero too, if I could. A car that was supposed to cost $42.31 for a one day rental wound up costing $236.60 by the time they added all the additional charges.had 2 different charges and, of course, they charged the higher amount on my credit card. **************** was useless. Would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

      Reserved a suv from dollar rent a car 6 weeks ago. Arrived at the desk at the Chattanooga airport and was informed they had no cars for me. Zero desire to correct the issue. Ridiculous way to run a business. Would rate it below a zero if there was an option.

      This is a PSA to let everyone know something I hadn't considered when trying to save money renting a car, which is that the Manager's Special may end up being an all electric vehicle, the only type of rental vehicle I wouldn't have wanted. This happened to me in Ontario, California this July 2023 and I had to pay an additional $172.15 on top of the $180 I had already paid to upgrade to the least expensive non-electric vehicle. That was the price after the woman at the counter claimed to have applied all kinds of discounts and I ultimately ended up paying $352.15 to rent a Nissan Murano for 4 days. I learned this lesson the hard way but still think it's ridiculous to have the Manager's Special be an all electric vehicle when that remains a niche choice and something the majority of people have never driven.
