1 starDuring my TDY in ******** I rented a vehicle from 23APR2025 to 05MAY2025 SixT rental ageement **********. Im falsely being charged for vehicle damage that I did not do. The customer service agent at the **** Mall on Ramstein went over the *** and stated, its good to pay for this option because it covers all scratches, dings, dents, stolen, and other things to the rental. I agreed to these options. The vehicle was parked at the bottom of a car lot in a space close to a small curb. I took a quick glance to review the noted damage that was listed on the contract. The day of return. I proceeded upstairs to return the car. The customer service agent was busy helping a ******** couple with 3 separate individuals waiting in line. The agent realized I was returning the vehicle and asked for the keys. He told me thank you and I will receive my invoice shortly. Not once did the customer service agent ask to see the car to make sure noting was damaged before I returned it. All rental companies I have rented a vehicle from require the return agent to walk around the vehicle, check for damage, and then sign off on the contract verifying no damage occurred during your rental. This did not happen with SIXT rental. Once I returned the keys to the hands of the agent I cannot control whatever happens to the vehicle. I will not be held responsible for any damages outside of my rental window. Property control is accepted by SIXT rental once they have the keys in their hands. Two days later I received an invoice for damages and saying Im responsible for paying 500+ euros for a 10 cm scratch, this is an UNACCEPTABLE in my opinion. I have contacted my attorney on this issue and we will take this to a legal matter if required. Additionally, I conducted a review of SIXT rental history with customers. I noticed a class-action lawsuit of $11 million dollars because SIXT Rent-A-Car sent claims of damages to individuals days later. I'm requesting this false claim of damages to be closed.Review fromCaroline B

1 starSixt Rent a Car at the *************** is fraudulent! I prepaid for a three-day car rental, only to find out that they do not take ************ cards. So they charged my card online, but would NOT give me either a rental car or a refund! Beware!!! The staff were completely unhelpful, as was the Manager at the ***************.Review fromAnna D

1 starWhile booking a round trip flight through Expedia we also reserved a vehicle rental with Sixt. When we arrived at the **** location near the ****************************** we were informed that they would not honor our reservation without two pieces of photo ID. No indication was given upon reserving on ******* that more than one ID would be required. The staff refused to honor the reservation and refused to provide a refund, claiming that where the reservation was made through ******* that it would be their problem. They provided no indication of any No refund policy.Upon contacting Expedia we were informed that Sixt was given the money for the rental and that they required permission from **** to provide a refund. They attempted to request a refund on our behalf and Sixt declined. ******* claimed that it is Sixt responsibility to provide a refund.Sixt took our money but refused to honor our reservation and refused to provide a refund. We have had no other option but to go through **** to recover our stolen funds.Review fromArunprasad S

1 starI booked a rental car in Sixt -Rent a car (***************) through ****************************** for pickup scheduled on 28th May, 2025. The reservation was done on May 13th, 2025. The money was deducted from my account at the time of reservatin itself. On the day of pickup, atleast 8 hours before the scheduled pickup time, I had uploaded my driving license copy in order to complete the check in process. When I went to the counter at 9 pm EST in order to pickup the car, the representative told me that their scanner is not accepting my drivers license and hence they are unable to provide me the car. I asked why the scanner is not accepting my driver license while others are able to proceed with car pickup, they said it could be a security issue with my profile and asked me to check with dmv. I went to the Hertz car rental counter which was right next to Sixt counter. I was able to able to pickup my rental car in 10 minutes without any existing reservation. As it was a last minute reservation at Hertz counter, I had to pay more than 3 times of the cost for car pickup compared to my original booking cost with Sixt. I raised this issue with ****************************** and requested them to pay me the full cost of my Hertz car rental along with the amount that was deducted for my original reservation with Sixt. They took my case with Sixt. I got the refund for the amount of my original reservation. But they did not pay me anything for the Hertz car rental which I took in that day as Sixt did not provide me with the rental car as per my original reservation. I am extremely dissatisfied with Sixt for the inconvenience and financial loss caused to me on that day.Review fromTraci T

1 starIf I could give a 0 star review, I would.I flew out of ********** to ***********/************. When I went to pick up the car, it was fairly simple. The gal at the desk did her job and was fairly pleasant about it. However, when a customer says they do not want the additional insurance, it should NOT take the customer repeating themselves three different times, that they do not want the additional insurance. It was also difficult to swallow being required to pay a $200 security deposit when I had already prepaid for the rental. The biggest problem was after returning the car. It was simple enough to get to the return site within the **************. The gentleman who greeted me, was very nice and polite. I signed the return document and went into the airport. While waiting for my flight I received an email from Sixt telling me the car was returned with no issues and the security deposit would be released back to me in no more than 24-hours. It stated the bank might have a hold though so it would possibly not hit my account for up to 10 days. After 5 days of not getting the deposit returned, I reached out to the bank. They bank said Sixt never released the deposit. I called Sixt and they claimed they had released the deposit the day the car was returned. ****. Still have a hold on the account from Sixt. The release is dated 10 days after the car was returned. They are sitting on my money (still!) after having specifically saying the funds were released to the bank. There is nothing the bank can do until **** releases the funds. The car was returned 5/29. It's 6/7 and I don't have my money back. Sixt is clearly running a scam and holding my money for as long as they absolutely can (probably getting interest on whatever account they are keeping my money in). They should be ashamed of themselves. The never escalated the issue. They never released the hold. They will keep your money. Absolutely insane.Review fromMike W

1 starI hope this really helps someone. Please Do Not rent anything from this company! We were rented a death trap. The vehicle was not service or checked out before renting to us. The tires were bald and the brakes were bad and there was noise coming from one of the tires. This ruined our vacay they took our money for a death trap. Phone support kept hanging up on us for hours we were unable to get help from the time we picked up till the time we went to pep boys the next morning. It took over 36 hours for them to get another vehicle to us so we had to sit while car was parked for them to get another vehicle to us. Terrible!!! Now Sixt had the nerve to blame this death trap on us. We took video of the vehicles and the photo this company sent claiming we caused damage isnt the same car we had. **** had poor customer service and they are literally crooks. Please dont rent from these people go anywhere else just dont go to this company.Review fromKevin D

1 starOn March 3, 2025 we rented a Sixt car at the ******************** and drove home to **********, **. There were no incidents during the drive and the car was parked in front of our house. On March 4, 2025 we returned the **********************************. The **** employee looked over the car and said we were good to go (no mention of any type of damage at all). On March 18, 2025 we received an inquiry email from SixT stating there was damage to the car and ask for a response. We responded that it was in no way damage caused during our rental and that the Sixt employee who received the car mentioned no damage at the time when we returned the car. On May 7, 2025 we received a letter from Fleet Response with a damage claim amount of $602.00 for damage to the rental car. They included an extremely fuzzy picture of the car with a time stamp of 4/3/2025, a full month after we returned the car. We called Fleet Response and the gentleman there had the photo of the car but couldnt provide the date/time stamp. This is unorthodox and unacceptable as to how to communicate with a customer regarding a damage claim. We shouldve been notified the day of or at the latest the day after the car was returned. Plus the photo was dated/time stamped 30 days after the return date. For a $15 part, they were asking for $602.Review fromKaren B

2 starsOverall, SIXT is mixed. The rental process is easy. HOWEVER, the company charged me ~$500 for "damages" that were preexisting on the car. I had sent them pictures of the damaged areas on the car from before I drove out of the rental facility. They wanted "time stamped" photos, so I sent new ones. Then they ghosted me with a ~$500 bill. Once again, I DID NOT DO IT. They are a scam and everyone should BEWARE.Review fromErica D

1 starIf I could leave a negative 0 star I would. I rented my vehicle at the **************, ********** and did a FULL walk through before and after vehicle drop off and received a bill for $526.25 for damages that does not even appear on the before and after photos and the before and after photo was show on the opposite side of the car. The before photo was on the driver side because the gas tank was shown and the after pic was on the passenger side. How you send a before and after photo of two different sides of the vehicle. And they even sent pictures that did not show any marking. The car was returned with dirt due to the rain but not damages. If this company is using their electronic photo system to take photo they need to make sure they reassess to ensure its not picking up markings of a dirty vehicle that is returned. But after I have read all the reviews it is very clear and disgusting that this company is doing this to so many people. DO NOT RENT FROM SIXT EVER!!!! I called to have them take this off and now I am waiting for them to send me a confirmation email that it was taken off.
