I recently brought one of my cars in for an oil change. 4 hours after I dropped it off, I got a call from Lucky stating that the drain plug was stuck, and after working on it for 3 hours trying to get it out, they determined it would not come out and the whole oil pan would need to be replaced and quoted my $750 for it. He said it was because the last shop who did an oil change overtightened the drain plug, so I contacted them to see if they would do the repair since they were responsible. They said "no problem", so I brought it in to them and they were horrified by what they saw. The drain plug was stripped and there were fresh scratches all over the oil pan and it was severely dented. It was clear that in the 3 hours of trying to remove the drain plug, Barbers damaged the plug and the oil pan severely, which is why the oil pan needed to be replaced. I called Lucky and he was extremely rude saying "there wasn't any damage to the oil pan, there's no way we did that". Throughout the conversation, he changed his story several times, finally telling me that the oil pan was already damaged. What was it, was it not damaged when I picked the car up, or was it already damaged when I brought it in? Couldn't get a straight answer from him, he just started shouting that he's not going to give away a free oil pan and that I can't prove they are the ones that damaged it. I decided to go in and talk to him in person, but he wasn't there when I arrived, so I spoke to one of the mechanics who remembered working on the car. He said there was never any damage to the oil pan, so it must have been the next shop to look at it that did it. However, the next shop called me back as soon as the car was on the lift to show me the damage, there's no way they did it. Overall, these guys are liars and don't take responsibility. It's sad to see there's others out there that have had similar experiences lately.
