On 2/25/25, Burbank Electric came to my house to examine a problem I was having with 4 LED lights. They recommended replacing the lights. I agreed. On 3/7/25, one electrician returned and installed 4 new off-the-shelf LED lights. The total time spent was approximately one hour for the diagnostics and less than an hour to install the new lights. The bill was $655.On reflection, I found that quite high. Based on various websites, the lights look to retail at less than $30 apiece. That leaves the labor costs at over $500. The **** section of **********************'s website says "How do you charge for projects? By the hour, job, etc.?Our prices are determined by the task at hand. Some services may be priced over the phone. However, it is usually best to see the job before giving a price. Technicians will discuss pricing before beginning the job to prevent unexpected surprised."************************************************ asked Mr. ********************** to break down the costs (lights, labor, etc.) on at least 3 occasions. I have not received a response. I want the charges itemized and an explanation of why "technicians didn't discuss pricing before the job".

    Good morning,

Thank you for reaching out and giving us the opportunity to address and resolve this matter through the Better Business Bureau.

Please see the breakdown of the charges below:

      *** style="color: black;">2/25: Service fee and 1 hour of labor $285.50
At this time, we assessed the job and determined that the lights needed to be replaced.
      *** style="color: black;">3/7: Service fee, 1 hour of labor, and materials $493.50
On this visit, we replaced four LED recessed baffle lights.

This brings the total to $779.00. However, as a courtesy for the return visit required to complete the work, we applied a discount of $114.00, bringing the final total to $665.00.

I am the new Office Manager for Burbank Electric, and I am happy to assist with any further questions or documentation you may need.

Thank you again for your time and consideration.

    Thank you,
