I placed an order for a vehicle and a corresponding $5,000 hard deposit with the Company on May 26 2022. Prior to making the deposit, on May 25 2022, Mr. *********** ******** representing and employed by the Company at this time, communicated to me in writing that the vehicle would be a 2023 model year, and that the waiting time for the vehicle to arrive would be 12-18 months, from date of deposit to date of delivery. This timeline represented that the vehicle would be delivered sometime between May 26 2023 and November 26 2023. Additionally, *** ******* communicated in writing as part of the same communication to me that the vehicle pricing had already been released as of March 10 2022 and that the price would be $85,000. I made this $5,000 commitment, as well as other financial decisions in my life, based on the trust that I placed in the Company’s guidance on timeline of delivery as well as pricing of the vehicle.

Since the time of making the deposit, the Company has pushed out the delivery of the vehicle multiple times, with the latest estimated delivery timeline being 30 months from when I made the original commitment and deposit, and at least 12-18 months delayed relative to the original timeline represented in writing by *** ******* on May 25 2022, just prior to making the $5,000 deposit and corresponding order. Additionally the Company has significantly increased the pricing to $105,400 (prior to options).

Statutorily, the ******* ********* *** ****** ***** ********* *** prohibits “unfair or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of any trade or commerce.” Based on the Company’s egregious misrepresentation of both the delivery timeline as well as the vehicle price at the time I was provided with the information necessary for my decision to place an order and a corresponding $5,000 deposit, the Company is in violation of Florida Law. I am asking for a prompt return of my full $5,000 deposit, which the company has failed to do so far upon request.

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The company is refusing to address and accept responsibility for the deceptive information they provided regarding pricing and timing of the vehicle’s delivery when taking my deposit. Additionally at the stage when the final specification of the vehicle was due they demanded the spec by a date provided by them and did not offer any other options considering the delay and change in price both beyond reasonable delays.

    Regards,

I put a deposit on a Car for the option to purchase in the next 6 months, it's almost a year since and the price was increased over 20% of the price I was told. They are claiming it's was non-refundable deposit and then raised the price making this transaction basically a blank check. Pay what they want or lose my money.

    Business Response

    Mr. ******* ******,

I hope you understand we do not set the price. Our dealership was very clear when taking options to order this car. It was also very clear that once we accept the $5,000 option you are in position to order/purchase. There are dealers with hundreds of orders and we did not want customers that are speculating or not sure just to put down a refundable option.

Please also remember that when other potential customers call to ask about positioning your option has a reserved space.

I would agree to a refund if you provide a substitute buyer in your place.

    Regards,

Took my vehicle to World imports for engine work. Was told by the Service Maneger Name **** that the engine was bad and needed a new one but he could not find one. He stated that World Imports could rebuild the engine and I agreed to have the work done. After 2 and half months they gave me my vehicle back and stated that they had did a head job and that the engine need more work. They wanted to charge me $5900 for the work. They fired the old Manager and hired a new one name Ms. ******* The car was leaking oil and I took the car back and they said it was coming for the oil pan and that I needed to take the vehicle to another repair shop to get the engine fixed. I did and they informed me that the work was not done and that the oil leak was coming from the area that they said they had worked on. I was informed today that the engine timing was not set properly and that they had to fix that also. The Manager of **** ********** stated that he was will provided a statement to what work that was not done. I tried to get the invoice from ********* ******* ******** but World Imports told them that they would not authorized them to give me and invoices concerning the work that they had done on my engine. see attached Docs

We are sad to hear about your mixed experience with World Imports service department. We take your concerns seriously.

The Shop Foreman and I have gone over, line by line,  the estimate given by “****** ***********” These repair estimates are unrelated to the work that was performed here. We did authorize ********* ******* **** to share any repair information with you as well as a list of services performed. However, you specifically asked for a business to business payment invoice which I am not at liberty to provide. We unfortunately will not be able to offer you a refund, as you were charged only for work that was performed. This information was explained to you in detail  upon pick up, as well as itemized and explained on the  work order which you signed, when you payed the repair bill, which we had already discounted for you as a courtesy. Specifically, removal of the engine head, associated parts (see work order), the sublet charge from the vendor that machined the engine head, and reinstallation of the engine head, spark plugs, 2 fuel hoses, and ignition coil connectors which were too old to withstand removal and replacement.  However, full restoration on your 2004 Audi A4 Cabriolet with salvaged title will need to be completed elsewhere. Thank you for your service.
