I've been trying to get a resolution to the below issue for over a month and 1/2, going on2 months with know resolution. The company *** had ignore my emails and voice mails.Isn't it illegal to send an invoice for one amount and then charge another amount? especially with out approval from the insured parties?1. I Received a renewal policy for over $1400.00 I ask my Rep ******** to to review for another insurance company with the same benefits, but with a lower cost. I received email showing my a breakdown and the amount it would cost me. I Then received an email from, If I'm Not mistaken a *************************** with an invoice of $1171.96 and I approved it. 2. It was only when my mortgage company contacted a couple weeks ago ( early October) , that I was aware that my policy was $1358.00. So with that being said , I was charges an additional $186.04 . 3. And if there were changes with the quote(s) in reference to the roof, then I should have been notified of changes and a new invoice sent out to me for my approval, SO I, get to decide, not your company. 4. Business Response

      Date: 01/12/2024

We are in receipt of Complaint, dated December 21st,2023, related to an increase in overall premium, which came after an initial quote. In addition, our client is also seeking a refund.

After reviewing this matter, it was determined that our client reached out on October 27, 2023 to inquire of this increase. Our Retention Supervisor responded to indicate that they would investigate this matter further and would respond back to client. On November 9, 2023, our Retention Supervisor attempted to reach client by phone and left a voicemail. In addition,an email was sent to explain that, at the time of quoting, the information received from prior carrier was that client had a HIP roof, which offered a lower premium. This is the premium that was quoted to our client. However, upon a required inspection by the new carrier, it was determined that the roof, in fact, had a ***** portion, which caused an additional premium due on our clients policy. The additional premium invoice was sent to our client directly by the new carrier, along with an Amended Declarations page showing the change in premium. In this same e-mail, we also explained the improvement in coverages and replacement value and that we can re-shop the coverage again next year.

On December 4, 2023, a follow up call was placed to our client by our Director of Personal Lines Sales & Development, and all concerns have been addressed and resolved.

I am rejecting this response because, I never received any calls from the insurance agent. I received a couple of emails. I email back, telling that person I have not received any phones calls and provided 2 contact numbers and still did not received a phone call. Please have the insurance agent provide proof of the phone call. The insurance company sent me one quote and charge me for another quote without my knowledge and/or consent. I should have been notified of change and it's my right to consent if I want to sign with the insurance company. Please have the insurance company provide proof that i had knowledge of the 2nd quote. This isn't about the money, it's the principal, that insurance company would  take it upon them selves to "up charge" a consumer and take the decision out of the consumer's hand..  This type of behavior gives Insurance companies a bad name. A **************** Manager did call me, but it was after the fact to tell me was working on it, but i haven't heard anything form that either.

      Sincerely,
