Meet Your Captain – Jim Gallup
Thanks for stopping by! I'm Captain Jim Gallup, a fully licensed charter captain certified by both the State of Florida and the U.S. Coast Guard. I bring decades of boating and medical experience to the helm, ensuring every trip is both safe and enjoyable.
I launched Green Beret Charters in 2020 to combine my passion for nature, the ocean, and serving others. Originally from the Midwest, I grew up hunting and fishing before answering the call to serve after 9/11. I spent 20 years as a U.S. Army medic, retiring as a Green Beret with the 7th Special Forces Group.
Being stationed in Destin, Florida, reignited my love for the ocean—like my daughter’s favorite movie says, “it calls me.” Now retired, I’m thrilled to share this new chapter by helping others create memories that will last a lifetime.

Our Vessel
You'll be fishing aboard a 2016, 35-foot Everglades—a comfortable, spacious boat equipped for full-day adventures or shorter excursions. She features a small cabin with a full bathroom, a berth for storage, plenty of cooler space, and all USCG-required safety gear. Whether it’s a bachelorette party, a family outing, or a custom trip, she’s ready to take you on the experience of a lifetime.

- Refund and Exchange Policy
- You can cancel your trip at any point up to one week prior to your charter and receive a 50% refund. Refunds for cancellations within one week cannot be made.
We will do everything in our power to not cancel your trip because of weather. We will consider rescheduling if that’s an option for both parties. Should the weather not permit a safe fishing environment in the gulf on the day of your trip, we will automatically transfer your charter to the bay. - Business Categories
