      I reached out trying to cancel my membership and was denied. I’ve reached back out and now I am blatantly being ignored. We were drug into a meeting at Disney while vacationing with our girls. They offered us free breakfast to get us in and they said it would only be 90 minutes. The sales person was very convincing and made it seem like we were getting a great deal. He said someone just upgraded and we could take their property and save thousands of dollars if we were to take it. He told us we would only have to pay maintenance and property taxes every two years. He told us we could trade out our designated week any time to use other properties anywhere in the world. They announced every time someone in the meeting signed a contract like it was a wonderful thing. We ended up being stuck there for HOURS with our girls. They made everything sound so great but it has only been a burden since we got it. Since 2006 we’ve only been able to use it 3 times. Each of those times we had to pay extra and were told that if we wanted to swap weeks out for other resorts we would have to pay for memberships at those resorts. On our last trip, they convinced us we needed to upgrade because our original property was outdated and it was limited because we had a fixed week instead of floating. They made us feel like this was our best option but failed to mention it came with a new mortgage. With this upgrade and increasing annual fees, we are barely making ends meet. We had no idea that these fees would increase the way they are. We also tried selling/renting one week but had no luck. We just want to give it back and they won’t let us, even though we were told we could get out whenever we were ready. Please whoever reads this save yourself from this pain.

      Buyer BEWARE!!
      I was not given any time to read the contract before signing and the terms were NOT explained. No
      one bothered telling me maintenance fees would be increased every year which caused me financial
      harm and forcing me to suspend primary maintenance expenses. Westgate pays their sales reps to
      lie about availability to ulitize the timeshare and the sales rep lied about the ability to visit Planet
      Hollywood and the “special benefits owners” get through Cruise and Travel.They told me my friends
      and family could use it but later learned they cannot use the timeshare unless they sit through a
      presentation. Payments increase when I upgraded, with NO apparent benefits whatsoever annnd the
      loan period was extended another 10+ years. After paying off the loan I was expected to be
      responsible for their constant rising maintenance fees, ANOTHER point I was never told about.
      The range of properties, GREATLY EXAGGERATED by their salespeople. I could only stay at the
      limited number of properties available, can’t sell it as I tried to sell through an agency and was
      robbed out of $500.THeir timeshares are grossly misrepresented. Many lies told to by your
      salespeople. I need a full reimbursement!

      Mi experiencia con Westgate como propietario de tiempo compartido ha sido extremadamente decepcionante. Atraído por las tentadoras promesas, firmé un contrato por un precio exorbitante de $18,537.60 por 12 semanas de uso. Sin embargo, desde entonces he sido víctima de promesas incumplidas y de una total falta de transparencia.

      El programa Travel Partners, que prometía ingresos adicionales por referir clientes, resultó ser una estafa. A pesar de registrarme, nunca recibí ninguna oferta para alquilar mis semanas y me resultó prácticamente imposible obtener los beneficios económicos prometidos.

      Thank you for your review. Please know that we are sincerely sorry you have experienced the various issues related to your ownership that you mention in your review. Due to the extent and scope of the different topics that you mention and the limited amount of space available in this forum, we are responding at length to your concerns directly to your email address. For your convenience, we are addressing our response in Spanish to ensure that you gain a through and detailed understanding of the many benefits of your timeshare ownership and of the process to follow in order to access them.
      Briefly, allow us to clarify that you purchased the use of a week in a 3-bedroom lock-off unit that allows you the option of using a 2-bedroom portion of it during one week and the remaining Studio portion during another week. Your timeshare apartment has the capacity to accommodate up to 12 persons, but you did not purchase use for 12 weeks of the year. The Travel Partners program allows you to receive commissions for referrals that you make to Westgate; it does not find renters for your owned unit. Getaways are discounted stays for last minute bookings at different resorts throughout the world. Like exchanges to non-Westgate resorts using your Westgate timeshare, they are accessed through Interval International and Westgate Cruise & Travel Collection, which are separate companies from Westgate and subject to their own rules. All these details were reviewed with the sales personnel and the closing agent on the date of your purchase and confirmed in your signed contract documents. We are sorry to read that you found our sales personnel’s efforts to explain your ownership overly long. However, taking the time to understand your purchase helps prevent future misunderstandings.

      Time Share Blue Tree Resort at Lake Buena Vista.
      I Sent this company an email on May 30th asking for a cancellation. On June 6th I got a letter denying me. How much time did they take to look into this? They are a "check the block" type of organization. They do what is required and ONLY what is required. They will NEVER go out of their way to do more and help clients. They are obstinate and greedy. They didn't get better when Westage fired them...they got worse.

      I am deeply disappointed by the sales practices and overall experience with Westgate. From the presentation to the contract signing, every step displayed fraud and financial deception. The sales representatives were dishonest, using coercion and pressure to close the deal. They made false promises about savings, access to resorts worldwide, and using Airbnb to profit. The contract signing was rushed, and we were discouraged from asking questions. We have no doubt that vital information was intentionally omitted that could have aided us into making a sound decision.
      This level of fraud is unacceptable.
      I have made it my duty to caution anyone considering doing business with Westgate to exercise extreme caution. The company's unethical practices and disregard for transparency make it impossible for me to recommend them as a reputable and trustworthy organization. I hope that this review serves as a warning to others and impels Westgate to address these serious ethical concerns promptly.

      presented on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on the available
      inventory, the representative may have expressed some urgency regarding the
      offer. However, you were never obligated to remain past the agreed-upon time to
      receive your incentive or to purchase a timeshare. Additionally, while you have
      stated that you felt rushed through the signing process, please know that had
      you informed the Closing Officer of this concern, they most certainly would
      have proceeded at a pace with which you were comfortable. Ultimately, you have
      the right to inform the sales staff or closing officer of any discomfort to
      ensure proper action is taken or refrain from purchasing if your concerns are
      not addressed to your satisfaction.



      Regarding
      your concern about having worldwide resort access and savings, we can confirm
      that active Westgate Cruise and Travel Collection and Interval
      International memberships do in fact give owners domestic and international
      travel opportunities to thousands of destinations worldwide by way of exchanges
      and getaways, based on availability. Further, your execution of the contract
      documents confirmed that you purchased this property for personal use and that
      there were no representations made regarding investment or resale potential.
      While you are able to rent your units at your discretion, as long as all
      requirements are met, keep in mind that Westgate does not assist with this
      endeavor.



      As
      for your claim of having been discouraged from asking questions, while this is
      verbal, understand that if you were in any way uncomfortable, you were well
      within your rights to have refrained from purchasing and ended the presentation
      altogether. Notwithstanding, each and every owner is provided full and fair
      disclosure of all purchase terms for their review.

      and Mrs. *******, although we remain hopeful that your hardships will soon
      ease, be advised that there has been no supporting documentation that validates
      fraud or wrongdoing of any kind. Westgate’s position remains that your contract

      Run do not walk away from this terrible company. Total scam. They prey upon the elderly and are relentless and slick. They take people's hard earned money in their retirement years with deceptive talk. They don't care about their clients. It's not possible to sell your timeshare and they will not take it back even if it's paid in full unless you give them even more money. Do not sign anything!

      We were lured into purchasing this contract when bribed with Disney tickets. The amount of stress and pressure they put on us in that meeting to buy was outrageous. We felt as if we had no other choice but to sign. It economically make zero sense to own this contract. The amount of money paid for something that you will never own is absurd. Not only will we never own it, we can't even use it when we want to. We are already struggling financially to keep up with these payments, and we've reached out for help, but no will assist. They argued we've never used our contract, which is the point. There is never a chance to use it. I am posting this review with the hopes that someone else sees it and saves them self from this nightmare. They also said that if we didn't like it that we could sell it, good luck with that.

      keep in mind that Westgate does not assist with this endeavor.

      Westgate is a scam! They give you the hard sale, telling families that this is an investment and a
      lifetime of low cost vacations. If there was so much value in what they were selling, why wouldn’t
      they have a buy back program? Other timeshares do.
      We are over $10k in for a “vacation” that we have never been able to use. Apparently that is not
      enough for Westgate. They are still trying to collect from us-money for nothing!
      They will never admit that they encourage their salespeople to lie, even though we have found
      hundreds of examples of the same complaint on the internet. Westgate even called us “valued
      customers”. Valued! A complete joke considering the con that was used to get us to sign and the
      amount of money that has been taken off of us already.
      Do yourself a HUGE favor and vacatio with a reputable company, that has something to offer.

They pressure sell, then when we got home and realized this is not affordable we sent two cancellation emails as we were told to do, 2 months later they took over $1200 out of our account which was our house payment, call them and literally and I say literally laughed at. This company seriously needs to be evaluated and real estate license taken away
